I am from Turkey but live in Austria, Turkey is in the brink of total fallout, they have opportunistic President who has no clue of what he is doing, everything he touches transforms in chaos. Turkey has the worst reputation in the world, I never saw Turkey so down then as today.
Erdogan Son in Law Berat Albayrak is current Minister of Finance and Treasury.

Inflation is so high that people cant afford tomatoes and potatoes, we are talking about vegetables, meat becomes a luxus object.

Black Sea natural gas fields offshore, the loss of which will damage Ukrainian economy and make it susceptible to accepting loans and deals from Russia. This would obviously favour Russia economically as well. There is also leverage over the Ukrainian southern border in event of direct invasion/involvement in Donbas Warand Crimea is a bufferzone on which to build a potential front line with NATO states such as Romania.
