As a connoisseur of horrifically bad interviews, I must say this one is a real gem. When the dude from the Vandals goes on a semi-homophobic riff, punctuates it by saying he likes Bjork, looks down at his notes & grimaces, doubles down by saying it louder, and decides to ask her about Kangaroos - I think I had an out of body experience. 10 out of 10.
Yes, but at least the guests in two ferns know what's going on from the start. I don't think this was true in the first few episodes, but even those guests figured it out pretty quickly. Here we have two people from a different culture than the U.S. and although they do get that he's being sarcastic and rude on purpose, I think Bjork was irritated that she didn't get a chance to talk about her artistry in any serious way, which is what she would've preferred.
This was the late 80’s or early 90’s. People didn’t take offense to every little detail of everything back then. I wish this generation would laugh a little more and complain a little less. I really miss that about the 90’s.
Watching the video a couple of times makes it easier to understand what's probably going on in there. The interviewer is not a professional interviewer, he's a member of a punk-rock band named The Vandals, and I'm guessing that one dynamic of the show was to put artists to interview other artists. Also maybe kind of the idea was that the interviewer just be himself asking the questions. Although Björk and Siggi look a little disconcerted with the style of the interview, as if they hadn't been warned about it! Haha and I think that makes it even funnier. And of course, in thirty years the things that makes us laugh and what we consider improper to say have changed, but for my taste the guy is naturally funny :) (Sorry for the bad english and long post 😌)
This actually sounds accurate lol I just think that the interviewer could have gauged the vibe in the room after like 5 minutes and kinda accommodate by shifting his interview style
I really never worry about B during interviews! If there’s anything she can handle, it’s weird and awkward! She’s like the queen of weird and awkward! Even now in her 80’s she still makes weird awkward strangely beautiful music!
Words can’t describe how painfully funny and awkward this interview is. It reminds me of some of the comments Eric Andre would make on The Eric Andre Show, where he would just deliberately troll his guests, asking weird and bizarre questions, saying things that were totally untrue or unfounded, make offensive jokes and shocking remarks, never letting his guest speakers actually speak, and really just making them feel uncomfortable as much as possible.
She was obviously the most intelligent person in the room. Too bad she never got to actually answer any questions. Oh! And props to Siggi for his tour de force delivery of complete and utter ennui.
That was my thought, that if the interviewer would've controlled his anxiety and ego, then he would have relaxed enough to let Bjork fully answer his questions. Then he would've realized how intelligent and interesting she actually is. He didn't give her a chance and was more concerned about his image as the lead in The Vandals than being authentic.
this is just light hearted and silly, very human, an interesting contrast to interviews later on in her career where they are more formulaic and serious

plus, the way she is looking at him at 14:41 as if she feels sorry for him but at the same time maybe she considers giving him a chance
Mispronounces her name, "it exudes femininity... not feminism"
This is so adorably awkward oh my gosh. 😂I love hearing Björk laughing so repeatedly and Siggi crack all his jokes.
Ugh, that terrible feeling when you´re same time bored and shocked.
I never seen Bjork laugh so much in a interview.
It’s like a real “Between Two Ferns”

It’s like a train wreck, you can’t help but watch the whole thing
I do agree with that !!
So much awkwardness. The fidgety eating, sweating, and the way the keep reaching for the empty cup of food every few seconds.
Probably the best bjork interview EVER
this was a hot mess 😂 I love bjork’s style though
Interesting how she cracks her neck lol .signs of stress
This was excruciatingly hard to get through, but Bjork and Siggi navigated it SO WELL
He's just so funny and charming (in his mind).
This guy is just so rude and disrespectful, I think all they could do was laugh.
Nah he was en pointe and genuine

Why do some of bjorks fans have to take everything so serious?

How did this guy get a job interviewing bands? He is making his guests visibly uncomfortable.
It really is the Most Awkward Interview. Accurate video title.

OG NARDWAR !
He's giving me Tedd Bundy vibes
Honestly I think he’s just nervous and trying to be funny and failing
