- Apologist and author, Josh McDowell has spent the past few years focusing on the area of sexual brokenness, specifically pornography. Today, we talk to Josh about what he's learned from years of research on the effects of pornography. We talk about trends we're seeing and what we can do to change the tide of sexual brokenness in our world.
Someone once said (and I can't remember who it was) that what doesn't get preached from the pulpit, gives license to the pew. If parishioners never hear a sermon about the evils of pornography, gambling, abortion, smoking pot--it makes people in the pew think its okay to do such things. We sheep have to constantly be reminded of doing things that are wrong. And we are reaping the consequences of shepherds failing to remind us

All we need to do is remember that in the book of Hebrews it says that Jesus Christ was tempted in all ways but he did not give into the temptation it goes to show everyone that he was the only one who never fell into temptation so that makes him the perfect example, but as long as we are in this evil flesh we will stumble and fall into temptation it's in our adamic nature.
I've never heard of Josh McDowell and am baffled as to why he is being praised so much. He quoted lots of boilerplate statistics and didn't appear to have much to say to people who are in recovery themselves. Candidly, this interview reminds me of interviews with Ravi Zacharias; Ravi could talk a lot about a subject but looking at his interviews in hindsight, they were always lacking in personal vulnerability. Ravi is even mentioned around 31:50 in this interview where McDowell says, "Who's the one person in the world that would be the last person this [sexual scandal] would happen to? I would have answered Ravi Zacharias and myself... The key to avoiding sexual sin is a relationship with your spouse" Doesn't this strike anyone else as strange and even suspect? A lot of what this is in this interview doesn't stand up to scrutiny.
I have met with Josh McDowell when he came to our church as an apologetics guy talking about how he started as an a non believer and became saved, and he came every year. he is an author of "More than a Carpenter" and many other books. Worst part is when he brought this up, he never was invited back. As a pure desire leader and the guy who runs conquers class. I was upset that the congregation wrote many emails saying it's untrue when fact there have been many poles done that verify what he said. Look at the facts. I could name several sources of this.
It's Satan's way of taking God's gift to us & steal God's glory by destroying us.
Sex is great.
Mutuality in the marriage bed. Communication and no secrets.
Lets be more open abouth teatchers ho do and hath and have alkind of sexual relationships, in the Bibel every person was named with there sins,
so God is open and speack follumes abouth ith.
Same with preachers ho are so obese sutch a bad exemple to community!
Why do married people think they are not indulging in pornographic acts. How convenient that married people think they can just do whatever they want with no consequence. The proof of this and right to life married people that have a miscarriage. God is punishing then for having sex. Stop acting so holier than thought when you miscarry. God will not be mocked
