I’m in Dr Kennedy’s class. For 2 and a half years I was 90% housebound. After my first appt with Dr Kennedy, I am able to go outside everyday for about 40 mins, I even added in a jog. She is amazing! I highly recommend her 😊
@alimarsh888
That is simply fantastic! I am celebrating you! I agree that Dr. Kennedy is amazing!
You were agoraphobic???
I love the connections between Covid and my symptoms. Mind/body illness. Yes it was scary. Lockdowns ,mandatory masks ,created lots of fear. We had daily death counts online by State and by Countries. Very hyper vigilant. It was real. 7 million deaths. None of my doctors made this connection. Thank you so much. 🙏
@Nonessential888
The pandemic was a terrifying situation for so many people, and I hear that it was a very scary time for you. That's a perfect storm to trigger mind-body symptoms. The good news is that we can recover from them. I'm so glad this interview resonates and hope it serves your healing!
I hope you don’t mind saying not only have you helped me enormously but you’re ridiculously beautiful Rebecca. Thank you
@MrKelso85

Wonderful interview! Dr. Becca mentioned Ehlers Danlos. Does having this condition limit progress? Can it improve as Long Covid begins to resolve?
@josie-gr1yl
Thanks Josie! Ehlers Danlos does not limit progress! I've had clients and students who recovered from Long Covid, even with EDS. The EDS doesn't go away but the chronic pain, fatigue and other symptoms can resolve. Lots of people have hypermobile joints but don't have pain (or Long Covid), like babies for instance!
@@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach Thank you for explaining this!
thanks for this great talk! I struggle a bit with dealing appropriately with the physical abnormalities. I sometimes get weak, heavy legs. If I think of it as a danger signal blocking my legs which are actually fine and full of energy, I'm kind of okay with it. But if I role in the possibility of damaged mitochondria, meaning that there actually is something wrong with my body and I do not have "enough energy", it totally scares me and holds me back because I'm afraid of "overdoing". Also, how does this apply then for people with book cures who can expand super fast. Do the mitochondria regenerate that fast? Any tip on wrapping my head around it would be highly appreciated!
@acissej_01
You're so welcome! I understand the challenge of dealing with physical symptoms. But with mind-body symptoms, physical damage is not causing the symptoms. The brain and nervous system create symptoms when they "perceive" danger. So it's important to focus on the things that give you a sense of safety and hope, not ideals that scare your brain! I had to stop subscribing to theories about mitochondria, viruses and other issues in order to recover. If the mitochrondria were the root cause, people would not have a book cure as you so astutely suggest!

Great question, that I often run into as well. And great answer from Rebecca. Thank you 🙏
@@sankarN84 Thanks for your comment! It is a common concern but it's one we can overcome in our recovery.
I wonder if this applies to vaccine injury also as I know couple people diagnosed with long cv after the vaccine
@Star5dg
Yes, we both work with people who are told them have vaccine injury. It's a similar stress response in the brain and nervous system. We simply want to turn down the danger alarm signal. I've seen people recover!
@@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoachyes yes yes !
I love how she mentioned the vaccine haha
Good timing for me to watch this :p
Great video again !!!
@ezza1236
I'm so glad this video is helpful for you! And I love that you left the first comment!
@@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach I’ll be honest I still feel like I’m learning and not completely there yet, but healing old habbits that I’ve had my whole life takes time,
@@ezza1236 That's so understandable and normal! I'm still learning and healing life-long habits and trauma myself. I'm happy you're on the path, my friend!
@@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach love you Rebecca, I still don’t know what I would have done if people like you didn’t make videos to help, as you know the medical system and internet is filled with such grim misinformation
@@ezza1236
Oh, I know! I'm just so glad you found me and others in this amazing mind-body field. You are adding to the expansion of this healing paradigm, my friend!
This doesn't make sense, I had long covid for nearly 2years then got better. I had another viral infection in March and now I'm ill again. I was doing meditation and breathing exercises every night and was really enjoying feeling better and now I'm ill again, I don't have anxiety or depression.
@janejenkins5137
I'm so sorry for your suffering. It can be a hard concept to comprehend. I also got symptoms after viruses, which can trigger the brain into a danger response. It's great that you're doing meditation and breathing exercises. Have you studied the mind-body knowledge? That can make a big difference. You might check out these blog:

Let me know if I can help further!
I wonder what Dr. Kennedy thinks about nicotine patches? I have LC with a history of ME and am starting to feel better using a mind body approach. Nicotine patches have also made a difference but I sometimes wonder whether this could be triggering for my brain when it sees me trying to 'fix' myself.
@DottieBengo
Excellent work! That's wonderful that you're starting to feel better with the mind-body approach, a sign you're on the right path! As we feel better and more resourced, we're usually able to reduce or eliminate the coping strategies that helped us before. You'll know if/when it's time for that. Meanwhile, just keep reinforcing that you're healthy and safe to your brain! If you want more support, you might consider trying my free somatic meditation.

Shame she keeps referring to the pandemic in the past tense. If you think the pandemic is over I don’t trust your judgment about anything
