This looks delicious! I love cucumber. I was wondering… what is the reason for drawing the moisture out of the cucumber in the beginning? Does it cause the cucumbers to absorb more flavors? Just curious; thanks!! 😊
Def coconut sugar here! This looks so good with the white onions!! I wud have to double this and just be in cucumber heaven. Idt gochurang is very spicy, unless its just the brand Ive been buying? Thoughts? Its really mellow and just adds great flavor imo. Its not like the heat of cayenne, is it? I love fish sauce and sambal for this, too. Tks for the post.
I just saw another video of someone making this salad and they put in that much salt but they didn't know they were supposed to rinse it out. Man they must be puffy now.
Is the spice she recommends available in the international isle of the supermarket in North America ? 🤔 Superstore has a great Asian selection 👀🌶️ will look for Korean Red pepper powder or Gogucaran 👌🏼thx 4 sharing
Yeah, it definitely stays with the cucumber. You may not absorb AS MUCH water again, but it's extremely pointless to do it that way. Salt is to season, not pull moisture out. You have to squeeze cucumbers to get the water out if you want to be serious here.
I could have sworn I saw a spiral cucumber salad from your channel (idk if it was ig or youtube) before but different seasonings 🤔 Gonna have to try this recipe 😋
Love that recipe! Althought there's something I don't get: why add the salt to drain the water out of the cucumber to rince it afterwards, and therefore re-add water? - won't that ruin the effort? (that's a real question)
Pre-salting removes some of the bitterness in the cucumber, which ends up in the liquid she rinsed off. The salt also makes the cucumbers more flexible and helps them to retain their crunch.
Depending on how much u ok y add, you can’t really taste the sweetness. The brown sugar is to balance the tang of the vinegar and to balance the heat from the pepper.
You're letting all those nutrients go down the drain by washing it all away, Why not use that liquid for stock or save it in the fridge as salty water for anything you're cooking plus the invisible nutrients.

Nothing like a fresh salad to start the winter months..
While it’s pretty to look at with the spirals, I’d simply use sliced cucumbers to make it easier to eat. 😏
Thx for sharing this recipe. Cucumbers is one of my favorite veggies! ❤😋❤
Same
Made my mouth water , I have to try this .
First! And I’ve always wondered how to make cucumber spirals thanks 😊
Sorry to break your flow and I don’t mean this is a mean way but if you go to newest I was first and I said okie
You’re welcome ☺️

The spirals look awesome but I might just cut my cuke diagonal to eat 😉😘

And after washing the cucumbers were all redrained. Great story 👍
Beautiful dish but it would be way to spicy for me to be able to eat
Just add as much pepper as you think will be the norm for you.
@@РедисочныйНедофилософ gotcha. Almost none
I would skip the sugar and you can use something else in place of spicy pepper. If you like anything healthy, like ginger.

Amazon has gochugaru
Isn’t she putting water back into the cucumber by rinsing the salt???
It's not absorbing it so not really.
You’d have to soak them for that to happen
U do know water can evaporate and moisture can’t? 💀

She said " pat dry"
Gotchugaru 👀🌶️
What u mean by 45 degree angle? Like I know what it is but not in the cucumber i just turn the knife
Looks delish...
Ah yes, I always make sure to add brown sugar to my salads.

I love watching you, you take me away from this shitty world
When I first saw her thumbnail, I thought it was some kind of jungle insect.
Can you leave the brown sugar out

😋
Not sure what I did wrong but trying to rinse that strong salt flavor out of the cucumber just made them soggy.
ทำได้ยอดเยี่ยมมากน่าทานครับเพื่อนฉัน👍👍❤️❤️ 1:59
As someone in a country that madly preserves water I winced a bit at the whole “using a tub full of water to wash the salt off” thing
Understandable, here we don't.
This could possibly be the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen
Tasty food 😊 nice recipe🎉🎉🎉🙋New subscribe here💪🔥🤝😇👍🏻🌹💐
😘🧑🎄
Okie
You are beautiful, that is what I noticed
too much work for a cucumber
That was 37 degree angle
Does she know that her eyelash glue is always visible?

@@larac.8137 I think you're not that "series" as long as you can't see it, it doesn't exist huh... Do you know what the word means anyway
Nonsense. This channel is overrated.
