  • There are many and mounting frustrations living here in the UK. But would my family be any better off if we left? And to go where? Many believe we are still one of the best countries in the World... But that belief is fading fast and we are now seriously considering taking the first steps to leaving the UK for good... #crime #costofliving #nhs #police #brokenbritain

@@jamiebrown8811 And what makes you think life in Spain would be any better, financially? Especially if the EU crumbles. That happens, they take all 27 down with them like tenpins in a bowling alley. There are only 3 that I'd seriously consider (if I had to), namely America, Canada and Australia, And as we all know, they're all currently being put through the tumble dryer themselves. If push came to shove, though, think I'd opt for Canada, already know folks out there, lifestyle pretty similar to ours. The only real drawback is that winter of theirs, but as someone's already told me, all the homes are centrally heated throughout, so no great big issue really.

Sympathy mate. English born and my grandad was working as a rent collector, but bought his own new house in the 1960s whilst bringing up two daughters and his wife didn’t work. Today a couple with professional careers are often described as ‘the working poor’. Houses in the 1960s cost x2.5 the average annual salary, now it’s x10. In real terms relatively annual salaries have stagnated too.
I believe slavery wasn’t abolished, but it was redesigned as endless financial credit and needless consumerism. If you’re earning a decent salary, never have a zero credit card balance, have zero real savings and would likely lose your home if you lost your job, then you’re in that ‘working poor’ debt trap.

You won’t miss anything once it’s replaced by sun sea different people seasonally . Beautiful food , taxing system completely different . I left 18 yrs ago and never regret it I chose Cyprus very similar to Britain they even drive like us right hand drive !
Except no illegal immigrants because a camp surrounded by a massive fence and barbed wire awaits whilst they are turned around within the month for deportation back where they came from ! No traffic problems but we have only just got speed cameras and vans !
The houses aren’t cheap but you definitely get much more value for money in size and garden besides which it’s right by the beach .
No inheritance tax and capital gains at 19% .
The quality of life is so good it’s one long never ending holiday . Everyone speaks English and a survey was conducted and Cypriots are openly racist they always have been fiercely protecting their core values and customs . Give it a go you won’t miss a thing !

We're bowing to a supremacist death cult, well, when I say WE, I mean the white people who turned their back on Christianity. We have the leaders we deserve, make no mistake. Our country has turned to shit because we turned our back on God and now we are living under the judgement of God, so is the United States. Fallen empires, fallen societies. I'm afraid for Paul and everyone else, there is nowhere left to go. Spain was conquered by Islam in the past and it will be again - that is the plan of the European Union, to divide and conquer, destroy the white Christians and give all authority to Satan.

Crime and corruption along with millions of immigrants have destroyed the fabric of the country. Entrepreneurs are discouraged and scumbags have taken over the streets. The police force was started as a way to stop crime, the police's role now is to wait for crimes to happen and then attempt to solve them. The councils are more happy to spend money on local privet parties then fixing the whole damn Parishes and the midlands have the worst pot holes to top that point off. The choice it’s easier than it looks like…you have to think what will be the hypothetical situation you’ll be in,for example if your plan is to go in a country to work and have a business or a career then you need to choose countries with a strong and stable economy, like Germany to mention one,if indeed you have a small regular income, let’s say you own a house and you get 1500£ per month, then you can choose a country where life cost it’s low where fiscal pressure it’s low and where you can have a normal life with that income already…. Then you have to keep in mind that there’s no wrong choice, everything is up to you and what you are willing to do to achieve your goals, there’s no irreversible choice, you can always go back from where you left… the only advise I can give is to choose a place that you like and where you feel good, all the rest will come easier

I left my country almost 10 years ago and I asked myself many times if it was the right choice or if I should have stayed in my country fighting for what I think is right, then I look around,I look at my fellow Italians and all I can see is people who only think about filling up their own belly,I see people taking advantage on others as easy as take a coffe in the morning,I see a dirigent class who only exploits the country without the minimum regard for people,so I’m sorry but I call myself out,I’ll choose where to go and from who to be fucked at least and live the rest of my days conscious that all I have I choose for myself

Property by the beach is affordable and while the cost of living has gone up abit now it is still very affordable. Beer is about one pound twenty and 20 cigarettes is just over a pound. you can eat out here 4 people for twenty five UK pounds. The healthcare here is really good, SUS is better than the NHS and is free and if you want to go private you get 2 visits for 40 pounds. I love it and don't think I'll ever leave. I realised many years ago that with internet access you you can live anywhere nowadays as long as you are able to get a visa, that isn't always easy so I'd advise that everyone checks out they can get a long term visa before they do anything else 🤣 Good luck with your move

I left in 1999. on my trips back, I love seeing my old friends, but man, life is hard there. To understand what the UK has become, just watch the ads on TV: funerals, insurance, gambling, borrowing money, addictive drugs (booze). It's all about desperation. I am not sure people over there realize how perverse these ads are in general. It is so depressing when you think about it. What do they tell us? They say life is so hard so drink yourself to death, or borrow so you can have what those others have, or just prepare to get sick and die, and of course, you can dream about winning money while losing your money to predatory betting outfits.
It doesn't have to be like this. I've lived in many countries, all poorer than the UK in terms of GDP or GDP per capita, and Britain is by far the hardest place to live I've experienced. It's also evident when you go out and risk violence (That's not normal outside the UK) or your house being broken into.

  • @nigel.w

I lived most of my life abroad. I finally managed to convince my wife to move to the UK three years ago, during the Pandemic. I turn 60 next week. My wife is 15 years younger. She likes it here. I have always loved the UK, but I hadn't been back for 25 years and it is simply unrecognizable to me in almost every way.
I lived in Spain before I last lived in the UK, and while it may well suit some, I can't see myself living there long term. I'm constantly torn between staying and leaving. But to where could we move and make a long-term success is the big question. We could move to Australia or New Zealand, but frankly they are headed the same way as the UK. They have also become incredibly expensive places to live. New Zealand weather is also not what it's cracked up to be. And the opportunities are much fewer. The US is a possibility, as my wife could qualify for a work visa or enter the Green Card Lottery. I've worked there in the past but wouldn't get a visa on my own now. It would probably be a relatively easy transition, but I think the US is heading in the same direction as the UK. However, if we stayed clear of the big cities and moved to a red state, we could probably avoid the worst of what's likely to come. My wife is also a German national, so we could move to the EU easily enough. She has also lived in Switzerland, so that's a possibility, too.
If we had more money, we'd probably live here six months and live elsewhere six months. I also worry about my wife after I've passed away. We could move to Eastern Europe, and could probably just afford a property there. But what would we do for money to live on? Neither of us speaks an Eastern European language, and while it's relatively easy to get by if you don't need to work, learning a language to professional proficiency isn't easy. But the biggest problem is living a totally foreign culture. I've lived in non-Anglo countries. It's not like it is when you're on holiday. Some people love it. But it's not for me.
I look around the world and really don't see anywhere where the other side of the street is necessarily greener. And where it may be a little greener, there are either obstacles to moving there, or it likely won't be greener for much longer.
Of course, we're all different. We have different priorities and our circumstances are also different. However, my advice to anyone thinking of moving is not to sell up and move, but to try wherever it is for at least two years. You can rent your home in the UK and use the money to pay the rent wherever you go. If you decide to stay, then you can think about selling up lock, stock, and barrel. But if you decide it's not for you, you can much more easily return. I've seen many people move, who only stay because they can't afford to move back!!! Don't let that happen to you!

      @brianmsahin 10 місяців тому +4

@@grantmail4112 That's a difficult one to answer. Most expats buy in areas like Kuşadası, Didim, Antalya, Bodrum and Datça, the latter two being more expensive, they tend to be winter holiday areas, but lots of people love the heat. Everywhere inside is air conditioned anyway so at least you can get out of it. All are beautiful places but very hot in the summer. Istanbul is only relatively cooler in the summer, 33°c in comparison to 38°c- 45°c in the south. We even have air conditioners in our Istanbul home. Turkey is a country of extremes, but living along the Black Sea coast, Giresun, Trabzon, etc is cooler and wetter, bit like Ireland and the UK but warmer in summer and colder in winter. Istanbul is also cold in winter time, even snow occasionally. Datça, the place I mentioned before, though hot, isn't humid so easier to handle if humidity is difficult to handle. Problem with the Black Sea area, there are no exp pats really living there and it's more traditional agriculture area, it's where all the hazelnuts and tea is grown. Beautiful place but not really for us yabancılar (foreigners). You won't escape the heat anywhere in Turkey unfortunately. It's something I like the most about the UK, unlike most people that complain it's not hot enough here. Cheers for all the info... I will check it out.. 👍

@@grantmail4112 Very welcome my friend. Wildfires are happening a lot and it's because of bad forest management. They don't let natural small scale burns happen any more and as a result growth is unnaturally dense and it causes these fires. Even the native people of many countries do some controlled burning to ensure that there's no disaster. Australia in particular has extremely bad forest management ideas. But, the best bet, look for something near a beach with no extensive forest around. Then, you'll only have to worry about tsunamis 😂😂. Good luck in your search. Be careful of the ownership of the property if you do buy, don't rely on the sellers lawyer, get your own and get references first. My wife is a very experienced lawyer here and though she isn't in the property business, if you ever decide to look here, she can point you to some reputable people.

@brianmsahin Cheers Brian! It's funny how you can escape one problem and something else turns up... but with careful planning, we can keep these risks as low as poss.... good advice about making sure the papers are checked. I was looking into buying some land in the UK and the same thing applied there as well.. Honestly, my trust in anyone is at an all time low.. I have been ripped off too many times before.. lol Thanks again mate! 👍👍

Couldn't agree more with you guys... I was homeless in Brighton and there's no help for any single men aged 25-49. I was shipped to Birmingham to be out of sight and mind. Brighton has gone downhill drastically since I left. I went back last December and there's still homeless on the streets, it just looked so run down and I just felt that the heart of the city has been ripped out.

Glad I watched you two, it's like being in a pub with a couple of mates and putting the world to rights. I agree with all you talked about and one of my pet hates those damn pot holes. Wish I could move away to Spain our once great country is no more.

Talking about potholes! I live in the Hampshire, Surrey commuter belt (fleet/Basingstoke) I’ve had about 6 tires in the last 2 years from potholes. Had to have wheels repaired, reconditioned. And I’m still paying over the odds on council tax and road tax despite the fact our local police station has shut down!

I don't understand the logic behind voting for Brexit and seeking help from the EU.

Brevity is a good thing. You don't ever want to be apart of a group who like a bunch of senseless migrants are needed and wanted.

@@truxton1000Because Paul voted for brexit which has damaged the UK and made this country poorer and a worst place to live in. Now he seeks to leave to a EU country after voting to damage his own country.

The problem isn't Brexit, it's the sheer volume of deadbeat migrants.

@@Cyime No EU country is any better than UK as immigration problems are huge in more or less all western countries, EU or not does not seem to matter, although Switzerland and maybe Norway is slightly better. And they are also not members of EU.

Hello Paul. I just subscribed. I left the UK in 1998 and would never go back. Got a lovely wife, two boys in private school, a successful business and 3 properties. I would never have been able to do all that in the UK. Best off out of it mate. Good luck to ya. From a fellow southerner.
