I would say Zidane's greatest attribute was his ball retention. People always talk about his touch, which was obviously out of this world, but I don't think there has ever been a player in the history of the sport who could keep the ball away from an entire team on his own like Zidane

Zidane was a nightmare for defenders world wide, he was one of those players that defenders feared to tackle because they’d end up of balance or on their backside.

The thing is Zidane wasn't just a very good player he was a leader who can make a team work as one imagine being in a team like real madrid at that time was full of stars from the goalkeeper to striker and being a playmaker in that team even when he was in italy with juventus italy was full of legendary players and zidane was something else there just check how many great players were playing at that time and how many player won BALON D'OR and THE BEST FIFA MEN'S PLAYER and u will understand how hard it was to be the best player back then

Unfortunately, Zizou "Zinedine Zidane" lost the Ballon d'Or in the 1999-2000 season, even though he won the Italian League "Serie A" with Juventus and Euro 2000 with France national team, in favor of Luis Figo, who had a 0 trophy less season with FC Barcelona and the Portuguese national team, and the reason is because Zidane headbutted a player from the Hamburg SV team in the group stage of the Champions League season 2000-2001 😢

He is not my favourite(that would be Hagi), he is not quite the goat either(although he's in the conversation, but its Maradona in my opinion, I aint mad at the Messi argument either), but if I could play like any one,....magic, wand type shit, it would be Zidane

@@Abdul1v1 Maradona was Incredible, whether you are a Messi, CR7 or someone else for the GOAT, I think you need to see Maradona first before you decide. As I stated for me he is he Goat. You will notice he is similar to Messi in many ways, more a midfielder and less a forward though, so less goal scored , but more elements similar to Zidane in terms of his midfield play and the passes/runs/dribbles he see's.
Maradona did things I have never seen anyone else do , like flicking the ball up with his back to goal and a defender right behind him and bicycle kicking a cross perfectly onto a teammates head ....and they score. Dude did this on the regular, like it was the same as a basic side foot pass. I have seen him use his teammate effectively as a third Post where he just fired a shot at his teammates shins and it bounced of them into the goal.
Hagi was more of an enigma, on his day capable of winning a game by himself, but had some off days too, but you will not find anyone better at shooting from 35-40 yards in open play and maybe only Juninho was better at free kicks than Hagi. Hagi also had incredible dribbling and passing skill he is not quite in the same bracket as Zidane, Maradona and Messi , he was an exceptional talent though, contrary to what others may or may not implied
I think you would really appreciate both of them regardless, you have a keen eye already for the game
