  • On the second and third day of our magical winter trip to Alta in Norway, we went on a reindeer and Sami experience, chased the Northern Lights, slept in an igloo ice hotel and drove snowmobiles - all from our stay at the amazing Sorrisniva (‪@sorrisniva-altanorway201‬ ).
PS! If you missed the first video of our day 1 in Alta where we went dogsledding and stayed at the unique Holmen Husky Lodge, see here: • Arctic Adventure 1: Do...

Riding a snow mobile is so enjoyable. Unfortunately where I live now in the southern Norway it is not an option, and I am not as young as I used to be. What is even more fun is hanging after the snowmobile on skis.

Ahh yeah, some seem to forget sometimes that it's quite different climates and topographies between the north and south of Norway.
Snow mobile was so much fun indeed. And I find it kind of hard to explain. In some way it felt difficult to navigate - but at the same time easy. E.g., when driving on a trail it kinda follows the trail automatically in some sense, but it's hard to "trust" it as a newbie.
And yeah, I can only imagine that hanging after with skis would be amazing. I would be quite terrified of hidden rocks and tree stumps etc. though - unless you do it on flat surface or area you're familiar with(?). And oh, would you say it feels similar to water skiing?!

@@PollyAndJon I have never tried water skiing, so I can not compare, but I guess it does. Usually we did it on frozen lakes with show on top of the ice, so the only problem were snow drifts - and they for sure could be a problem since they can be packed hard.

Hi Marie, thank you for your comment! This is Alta, Norway. Alta is called the northernmost city in Norway 🇳🇴 It was really magical!

Ohh, you asked "when". We went December 26-28 or so. 2022.

In 2024, it was mythology themed. Like Ragnarok and things like that

Ohh cool! Thanks for sharing that - I'm sure that was spectacular! In 2023 they tried something completely different by picking an African theme - which is so far away from what you normally associate with snow! :D
