we feel so terrible that after this video (and others) helped shed some light on what was afflicting our cavalier king charles, we did not come back and share the miraculous treatment that literally changed his, and our life... to everyone who has a CKC that appears to be suffering from EFS, seek out and go see an animal neurologist immediately, and ask them about trying Zonisamide (it is a human anti-seizure medication). We were lucky enough to find one right near us who specialized in CKC (Dr Sessums at VERG in Brooklyn for any of you who might be in the NYC metro area), and after ruling out Mitral Valve (via a DNA swab test sent off to England), and then trying Clonazepam (which did not stop the seizures, only made our dog seem to handle them better, which was not actually a good thing, because he would then try to fight it more, which then seemed to prolong the episodes) So finally she had us try the Zonisamide, and the seizures stopped immediately, and he has now not had one in nearly two years! This led our doctor to conclude that it was not EFS that afflicted our CKC, but some other form of seizure, the symptoms of which are virtually identical (we showed her videos we took of ours that were exactly like the one here), and it is possible many out there are similarly being misdiagnosed (our regular vet was so intrigued by this treatment, he questioned me for ten minutes when he saw it on our dog's chart, saying that he had heard a lot about it, but had not yet tried it, but was now going to prescribe it for all his patients suffering from seizures) The only danger is whether the dog can tolerate the medicine, so an annual blood screening is necessary to make sure it is not damaging the kidneys (or liver, can't remember which at the moment), but so far those of our dog's have remained clear. Hope this helps other CKC and their owners out there who may be suffering needlessly.

I would like to use this video for teaching purposes at University of Copenhagen. Would that be possible?

What medication did your Vet give to her? My Cavalier is starting to do a little bit of this, but she is also 12 years old.
