I remembered moving here in Dec2016 as I closed on my home. I asked the real estate agent why all the windows had alarm trip systems installed in them. she told me, oh gangs were big in this area some 20 yrs ago, but things are changing! lol.
OMG, there isn't room for MORE people and. The streets are so congested as it is. The cost of rent is so high in Snohomish County, low income people and elderly are forced to move away. It's like being Squashed under Louboutin heels, kicked aside for wealthy Guppies to breed more entitled Inmans. I hope they plan on alternative housing for more homeless people they are making. That or maybe they plan on bussing in domestic help to work the low paying jobs no one will take.
@@kevs7274 I used to live in West Seattle, and it felt like a small town, yet close to the city. Over the last ten years it's turning into a neighborhood like Capitol Hill, or Lower Queen Anne with all the 5, 6, and 7 story apartment buildings. I moved near Bothell/Kirkland/Woodinville area, and they are starting it here too. If I didn't work on the Eastside, I'd move somewhere far away!!
I would love to know what changes are so unbearable? I mean obviously it’s getting more diverse. I remember my step father telling me about how there used to be prostitutes all over the place in certain areas, I don’t see how a transit extension and apartments are so unbearable.
Oh delays in your precious and expensive Sound Transit land grab? Good. I don't mind a bit. I'll miss the old Lynnwood. It originally was advertised as a way to escape the insanity of Seattle. At least that's somewhat still true.
My only question is what is this gentrification going to do for all the poor and homeless displaced in these "upgrades"? My rent in this area has already risen by $300 per month

yessss
Grew up in Alderwood Manor in the 70's
Even the suburbs are turning into Seattle. I might just have to move to the top of Mt Rainier to escape from all of it!

More, more, more, taxes.
It costs more money in the long run if it’s delayed, ie: more of your tax dollars will fund the project.
