Love to see the real care and concern for all the cows! Wish you had a wee break to film cows enjoying their giant brush out in the field. I can imagine e the ladies will be really happy in their new Cow Palace😊
I LOVE Tuesdays and Fridays!!! PLEASE, please, please show some tedding video. I don't know why but I love to see it spread out and then gathered up again. Your Jo was stunning at dinner. What a lucky man you are! I wish you and your family continued success!!
I'd say keep the Herliman on the job for a little while longer. Look into replacing it when the sheds up and things are more settled i would say. Seems to be going alright at the moment.
Agree!! Then, Tom, treat yourself to a Case Maxxum/Vestrum, nice and bigger tractor that’s brand new and will be your primary one going forward, ntm with it being bigger HP it’ll give you comfortability as the farm continues to grow so that you’re not looking at upgrading 5-7 yrs down the line!
. I love how you and your dad discuss what you should do with a paddock and at the end he throws in a unexpected solution and you go "do you think?" He comes out with a very definite yes. End of discussion. I have the same problem except my dad is 92. Don't get me wrong his knowledge is amazing and we work well together. Just a bit aggravating. (And funny at times). The minute he retires I am retiring as well and leaving it to the younger generation. My sons are far more switched on with technology than me. And I am past retiring age
all caught up spend the last 2 evenings watching all vids from May since being too busy massive improvements done hopefully it all works out well for the future
I’m going to say 137 bales. Great videos Tom. I’m from the US. I love watching videos from other countries so I can see the differences between agriculture, and life in general. Great job.
Tom for phosphorus we use Fleet Enema drench very cheap, very effective. Always use on milk fever cows, and will work when calcium doesn’t quite be enough.good luck!
Good morning everyone… I love mowing videos, good job you got it done while we still had the unseasonably warm weather. Mower blades have definitely turned into spoons, not cutting like it was at the beginning of the season for sure.
Good video Tom, be very careful when buying second hand, its better the devil you know. Some have been doctored to look good but as soon as warrantee runs out so does the tractor. Still stick by my Sunday guess of 170/180.
Just to add my last comment which I accidentally sent before I had finished. I think a good well serviced second hand tractor is definitely needed . Bite the bullet and get something 150 up plus. Decent sized tyres, passenger seat and some form of front weights and linkage. That Massey might be ok but you get what you pay for I would suggest. Perhaps something to support the Hurliman and review in a year or two. You could get in touch with Rory Day editor of Classic Tractor magazine and put into a presentation UA-cam and his magazine , expert advice might be mutually beneficial.
You should take your battery angle grinder in to the field with you to give the offending blades a quick sharpen in situ. Buy the brand of tractor that has a nearby main dealer, for quick parts and repairs.
@@southaussiegarbo2054 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣says who we cut 2500 acres sharpen the blades till the wear down and switch over sharpen till the turn to points and change. Who told you that must have been a selling blades 🤣🤣

Blades are cheaper than the grass you leave behind I turn or change them every 50 to 70 acres, if the corner wears back they will not cut clean if you go faster than 8to 10 km. A light sharpening will get you another few acres
Living the in-depth information, to a non-farmer I find it interesting how and why things work to produce the quality of milk and meat. Thanks Tom and The Ging!
Refering to the new tractor part. Yes seeing a 2016 150hp Massey for 28k cheap, considering the fact you see 2015 Dyna 6's at £35-36K, but the seller may be taking into consideration the tax on that. I would still give him a message, you can usually tell by the way they will message you if there out to scam you or not 👍
Maybe the 28k tractor has 10.000-15000 working hours on it, it's a more realistic price when it has that much hours, but being Tom I would not have bought it. It's a range where more troubles and more expensive problems are starting to come.
Always enjoy your videos. I find them highly educational and entertaining. I love to watch them with the Subtitles on, when available, some of the words that come up from the automatic translation of the spoken word are hilarious, also it shows when the background noise is too loud as it doesn't translate at all. Good luck with the third cut 😃
Hi Tom and family-from across the pond. Consider that new tractor...work out a deal with the manufacturer. Maybe there could be a tractor model endorsed by you ... a 'Tom Pemberton Special' tractor. :) What fun! Best wishes.
have you tried molasses ? it helps animals handle dry feed plus a little energy can either get mix it with you're cake mix or get a special drum that the cows can like it as the drum spins in its box, don't know if you can get blocks of it. And guessing 135.
Id also say keep the Hurlimann but you should stick with the same brand and try a Deutz out they are technically the same Tractor. You don’t need a 150hp tractor 130 would be plenty for what you got around the yard. keep up the Vids Tom
the claas triple mowers i used to be on would somtimes do that stripe and i worked out it was the skids, where they met and where the blades crossed there was like a gap/mark from stones or bent blades catching. And where the skids met you could see a little bit of grass caught so we used to grind it smooth and fill with a bit of weld so it was sqaure again And that normally stopped it but not sure if those mowers would be the same as a claas bit would be worth a look as changing the blades didnt always seem to fix it for me. Hope that may help tom
Alot of mowers will leave a slight line of grass. Our old Khun did so does our claas now. Just keep the blades right. Might want to tighten up the stabiliser arms too
