I showed my husband your video. He and his dad loved Boston cream pie. I was always afraid to make it because I thought it difficult. Here I am at 68 and going to now make it for my dear husband of 48 years and all because of you. You took the fear away. THANK YOU KALEB. ❤️
My Dad's favorite was also Boston Cream. I lost him in February, so this is my first Father's Day without him. I am making this today in honor of the best dad on the planet. 💔
Boston cream pie was the first real, from scratch cake that I made for my dad many many years ago, as it was his favorite also. My dad is gone 30 years, but watching you make this dessert and talk about your dad brought back many memories for me . Thank you❤️
That's my husband's favorite cake thank you so much for posting this recipe. He's going to be so surprised cuz he's going to work tomorrow and he'll come home to a nice dinner and some homemade Boston cream pie thanks to you. And my Dad is in heaven also and his birthday was on the 15th so we always had a big huge birthday/father's day celebration for my Dad.
🎂💖 I just successfully baked your Boston Cream Pie and it turned out beautifully! Thank you for producing such a helpful video to make this delicious cake!
I haven’t thought about this dessert in years, and now I’m trying to figure out when to make it! Thanks for the recipe, video, and inspiration. While vanilla is ALWAYS a good choice, sometimes I use a wee bit of brewed coffee (strong) or even instant coffee grounds (gasp!) in chocolate frosting or ganache. That also enhances the chocolate flavor. I leaned it from Ina Garten, although I bet that trick predates her.
This was my grammy's favorite desert, thank you for sharing this, and bringing back so many wonderful memories of her, and being in the kitchen with her. ❤
You made me choke up and cry. My dad's favorite was this Boston cream pie. As a child I made it for him. There was a kit from the cake mix company. Betty Crocker I think. He also loved any baked goods I made as his mother made them and my mom didn't. He was also always edging cookies all around a bowl of ice cream. He died in 1998.
I worked for a bakery in 1986-87? Can't remember exactly but we made Boston cream pies. Well we just took them out of the freezer. I have liked them ever since then. I'm sure this one is way better!! Will have to give this a try 😊
My father always made Boston Creme Pie using sliced bananas on top of the pastry creme and then covering the bananas with whipping creme before adding the top Boston Creme Pie cake layer. Once the top cake layer was on top then the Boston Creme Pie top was also covered with whipped creme (instead of chocolate). Our father had to improvise since chocolate was hard to get at the local grocery stores in our small rural town.
My husband loves Boston Cream Pie! He watched the video ... he says the cream looks perfect! Your video has been sent to my daughter as she is the official family baker (I cook). Thank you so much for this video
Wow. I made this today and it’s terrific. Thanks for posting! Only thing I did different was cover the sides completely with the chocolate ganache. We are a small family and covering the sides completely keeps the cake fresher in between servings.
My father also passed away in March of 2004, a week before my 40th birthday. It's been a little over 20 years. I wish I had the recipes from him, chocolate cake, beer bread and chow chow.
Hi Kaleb, Quick question…why don’t you mix the eggs before you put them in the creamed sugar instead of putting them in one at a time? Thank you in advance for your reply. Love your channel 🤗👍🏻
This guy is so cute and talented, I wish he was my BF!! May your daddy RIP 🪦 You are a very sweet guy and that looked awesome and sure it tastes delectable!!
Quick question... is it OK to serve the following day or will it be to dry? I was hoping to make it this evening and serve it to guests tomorrow.. thank you!
I was taught from my mother to turn turn the first layer upside down. This makes the top flat. That way you don’t have to cut any of the cake off to level it.
Can't print at the store and how hard would it be to just give the amounts needed also instead of just a list of ingredients and instructions. It's such a pain to get a recipe nowadays
You can print the recipe here: www.wyseguide.com/boston-cream-pie/
Eating all thar rich delicious food how do you stay in such amazing shape? Must be all that farm work!
A tip for you: When you chop chocolate, use a serrated knife as it goes through the chocolate more evenly than a straight edge blade.

Hope your cake turned out well and your husband loved it! I am 66 and have never attempted one either!😂
My Dad's favorite was also Boston Cream. I lost him in February, so this is my first Father's Day without him. I am making this today in honor of the best dad on the planet. 💔

My dad died in 2017 and Boston Cream Pie was also his favorite.

😋yum!
I have always made pastry cream this way (“breaking the rules”), and I have always wonder why they don’t do it! It’s so easy and fool proof!
👀 good! ✅
❤❤❤
What is a good chocolate to use?
You don't fool us. You run the pastry cream through a sieve so you can reserve a little to eat for yourself 😄.

Can someone please give me full recipe in grams?
