Hello all! I see some of y’all would like to know how to scale the wings up considering they’re quite small, so I’ll let y’all know how I did it! it’s originally 20 inches for the larger planks, so I made it 30, this means -the 8 inch space becomes 12 -the 11 inch planks become 18 inch -you can leave the .5 inch gaps from the end and the 3 inch gaps for the joints, they aren’t affected These measurements still hold up to work, and provide a much larger wingspan than the one the original design provides. If anyone has further questions, lmk!
Rita Ferrell no, the design is made for two wings on both side, while the inner 'diamond' shaped area is for your back. You'd only have to make one set for both wings :)
Not related to scaling it up, but how did you wear it? Was it through a backpack like the video or through a harness? If it's the latter, how did you do it?
I’m gonna cosplay hawks too! I kinda already know how to make the wings but I was thinking how much cooler it would be if they moved so that’s why I’m here 😂
@@rindibout Same I'm just filling it in with mostly parts of characters. I'm not gonna be anyone from mha. I'm planning to cosplay as Pit from Super Smash Bros
I'd suggest using a washer in between each piece of wood where they connect. Lock washers would be excellent for staying in place and not loosening up as well.
And boom I have a Halloween costume, thanks for making this! It’s the only useful video I could find on the subject. But I do have one question how would you add feathers or attach it to a harness?
Doggo King Again I know it’s late but if you’re still interested, thecrookedfeather creator posts youtube videos you can take reference from, but her videos are a bit vague.
honestly you should find fabric that's red like his wing and feathers (no hot glue needed hopefully) get a piece 2x bigger than the wings don't put the fabric on before put the fabric on the front and back of the wings and then sew it together if you want them to be chunky add cotton inside or just leave the cotton out and after you sew the structure of the wing tight around the wing with the fabric and the cut off the access (i'm so sorry but i don't know how you would be able to but the feathers on me neither but good luck i hope you the best!
Great job guys! Simple, yet very descriptive. I watched countless hours of videos, and decided to use your design as my inspiration. I'm using aluminum fence spindles as my frame, fabric and real feathers , and a linear actuator to open. I'm making 12 sets of wings for a high school show choir group. Each will have a 7 1/2 foot span. I even made my own UA-cam video for those interested. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Imagine how cool it would be to make a hang glider and just turn it into cosplay wings and just using hawks quirk irl I wanna figure out how to do that
I’m thinking about going as Maximum Ride and I was looking on how to make wings and I found this. I’m not sure if my mom will let me do it but she might. I’m wondering how to make it look good though with like the feathers and everything. Like how do you dress up the main structure
My only problem with this is, mine would be covered with feathers and would be pretty large, how would I be able to move them is there’s not a single piece of wood to grab?
Please add some sketch and meassurement. And for further development, you might want to use triple layer of thin wood for each stick. That way you can insert one another to get better center alignment, instead of put it on one another. Just an suggestion.
Looked into all other designs of UA-cam and finally here, the best thing about your design is that its simple and sturdy, cause noone wants a wing to break in the middle of a show.
I haven’t tested this out, but I think that if you make the two sides separately and put them on a base and string the top or bottom of each side, you can make them work separately. So like a string on either the top or bottom point of the diamond once they’re apart, then add like a ring or tube to hold the string in place that is attached to the base, so when you pull the string the wings extend. Or you could keep the two together and do the same so that way you could open and close them without having to do it manually. It’s a bit hard to put into words and will need a base for it and way more effort, but in case some wants this, I’ve been thinking about it for a while. All in theory but ima update this if it does or doesn’t work.
If you don't want to worry about the bolts and nuts coming loose from all the movement, instead of using the standard washer, use a compression washer...you know, the ones that are a little thicker and they are split on one side and bent a little so that when you tighten the nut down, it causes compression and keeps the bolt night tight against the thread, and it won't come loose! Just don't tighten it all the way down or you won't be able to "spread your wings" (you're welcome) :P
Hello, I would appreciate knowing how to make the design of the wings and add them to the wood, I am not sure how to put the feathers so that when moving the wings it looks good and how to make one move the wings at will, thanks

Finally I'm finally able to cosplay as my OC bunzzy she has black and white hair she absolutely loves bunnies and she also has black wings it's amazing thank you so much for this very easy steps I'm going to ask my dad if he can help me but thank you so much I love this channel:) ❤️❤️👌👌👍👍😊😊
Can you make these in bigger sizes, too? Or just the size that you show? Because the thing I'm thinking of making wings for are much larger than this.
Nice vid - is there a way to make a reveal technique with these?
As in... a way to pull a string and make them open?
It was super easy and cheap! Ty!! Does anyone have any ideas on adding feathers?
