MASCA TENERIFE 2024 - TREKKING, TRAIL, TIPS, VIEWS!

MASCA TRAIL - EVERYTHING WHAT NEED TO KNOW AND OUR EXPERIENCE.
1. Before start hiking we book our entry slot on the WEB: www.caminobarrancodemasca.com...
2. We start at 8:30 a.m. what was great because we were hiking mostly in the shade.
3. 30 min before your slot we had to visit office in the MASCA VILLAGE where we were marked as arrived and received individual numbers which we had to remember. We had short brief, helmet, small hearts means tickets and used toilet there. It is mandatory to use the helmet in the canyon what we did of'course.
4. After that we went to the gate where we start the trail and there very friendly gentleman took our small hearts received earlier and marked our numbers on his list.
5. Trail start with starts down hill and to the beach it's seems to be flat or descent. 4,8km in one way. With stops for pictures and video recording we arrived to the beach after 2,5H
6. There is no access to the beach at the moment what should change in the future because in the plan there is pick up tourists by boat. Now we could rest on the terrace with a beautiful view of the beach and cliff background.
7. Near to the beach there are 2 mans who also ask about your individual number to mark your arriving to the beach.
8. Back to the village is up hill. The same roat 4,8km but honestly I prefer hiking up and I feel more comfortable then.
We back to the MASCA entry in 1h 30min
9. What can I advise: definitely hiking shoes what is checked by the staff and a lot of water.
10. What with car parks 😳 At the MASCA VILLAGE there is car park, but many places are marked for max 2h parking. We don't know if this is checked or ignored 🤔 and for our safe we parked 2km upper on the mirador car park where we didn't see any signs. The problem was we had to do extra kilometers for a walk from car to the MASCA and then back :D but it was worth to didn't have any stress with the car during our hiking.
