Stevie johnson 1 of my fav bills wrs 3 back to back 1000 yr seasons and was pne of the few guys i seen score on revis in his prime Deadly on them slants Heard hes coaching high school football now Keep it going stevie
Quick tip when doing this move don’t raise your arms above your chest keep them buzzing ready to fight at chest level so he can’t get hands on your chest then swim outside of him
I can see where he's coming from but stepping back gives you that insurance that your gonna get past the db if you just explode he can easily get you on the ground, I play both positions :/
Most smaller receivers will use this technique because once a DB get their hands on them, they are pretty much dead in the water. I would rather my guys get a clean release than to sit there and dance with a DB. I do see where your coach is coming from though, and it does make sense.
Steve is right at the LOS vs the defender, making it easier for the defender to strike. Try moving as far off the LOS as legally possible. This will give you an extra split second to clean release and win.
Stevie johnson was a underdog he was the only person to beat revis and sherm his technique of releases was unlike the nfl had ever seen at the time now all receivers do what he does
I'm a tight end I lined up in the slot with press coverage against there top corner he jammed me I used this move burned him and caught a 27 yd touchdown pass
what if the db doesn’t lunge? a lot of the dbs that i tried this on would just buzz their feet and keep trying to jam any time i moved upfield. that’s when you gotta put the hands and footwork into use
Ppl Sleep before their was a #13 Odel Beckham Jr, #13 Kenan Allen, #17 Devante Adams, #14 Jarvis Landry. All Im sayn is he (Stevie Johnson) paved the way for some of these WRs you see today, & It's Nothing new under the SUN the Catches have been duplicate.💯✌
+Jeremy Nguyen maybe your just a lonely ass dude that sits on the bench and play around in practice and don't start and I already turned it into muscle so lol goodnight I would probably knock your helmet off if you even play
i am 15 and 6ft and currently play wide receiver at my highschool but when i was ur age i was only like 5ft 2 i just started growing fast u might do the same just work on ur technique and u should be fine and same for the other people that asked
I'm 6'0 and 190lb , I run a 5.48 (40) but I never trained on running lol. So it's not too fast. I'm hoping with training I could get a lot faster. By at a second or so. I wanna try out for football next year. But idk if I could be a WR, cause I would like to play as a WR. Do I have the materials already or what am I missing?
How old are you? Because that's kind of slow for your size so I'd suggest stay at your weight and do track to get speed to be a running back or wide receiver or put on some weight to be a tight end. Either way track would help a lot
+Josh Garca and I'm 16 btw. I think I'm more suited for a linebacker. But you never know. My time is probably better than 5.48 since I have to time myself and I have to hold my phone in my hand l stop and start the timer. Which is quite uncomfortable.
+Josh Garca yeah man, but with training hopefully I can get faster and aim for something like RB or WR or I'll be the future Ray Lewis lmaoo but hey man I appreciate the advise. Ive never played football with pads and stuff so this was helpful
This comment section is interesting... half day do it half say don't can you give a reason for both because I feel it's very situational and can be good and bad. What do you think.
Charbel Wadih you probably should wait until you figure out the corner, if hes been jamming everytime he presses then its smart to do this. Theres more moves to use, this is a situational one, cant always use it.
Taylor Beauchamp Yeah you're basically wasting half a second by trying to avoid the jam with quickness. The extra space helps him not get a hand on you so you can make a move on him but if the move doesn't work and he's still pressing you you're taken out of the play pretty much. Best not to do if you're a bigger/stronger receiver probably.
Yes but not if you know your corner, if the corner jams every play and he did it while you were scouting him, this move will work....It is a little risky even if he does jam you, It depends on how you use it and what type of WR you are

Deadly on them slants
Heard hes coaching high school football now
Keep it going stevie
I did this once or twice at practice and it worked but i kept trying it and i got jammed to sleep so you gotta have more than one move.🏈👈
Quick tip when doing this move don’t raise your arms above your chest keep them buzzing ready to fight at chest level so he can’t get hands on your chest then swim outside of him
3:00 exactly what he said
My coach gets pissed if we step back, he just wants us to explode off the line as fast as possible
I can see where he's coming from but stepping back gives you that insurance that your gonna get past the db if you just explode he can easily get you on the ground, I play both positions :/
+Hobbes me too i like corner more though barely

This is EXCELLENT WR Advice!!!
if that DB acts like that , the DB coach should be immediately fired lol
Stevie johnson was a underdog he was the only person to beat revis and sherm his technique of releases was unlike the nfl had ever seen at the time now all receivers do what he does
This move really works for slot receivers especially when doing short routes like slants and etc.
I'm a tight end I lined up in the slot with press coverage against there top corner he jammed me I used this move burned him and caught a 27 yd touchdown pass
This works with an indiscipline DB that lazily lunch at a WR. A wise DB will watch center of mass and still be there to throw the WR off his route.
Great tips, step back, double hand swipe or rip out to your back foot side and burn'em for touchdown
I play wr I don't have great speed or amazing hands but I got amazing rountes and beating press is how I get open
Stevie got loose! Big Blue forever, Stevie!
THX this really helps
Thanks.

thanks for the tips i get the step back move

Thx I'll try to perfect this
What if the defender has long arms does it matter
2:39 happened to me last game.
That just happened to me in a scrimmage against another team. Came back here.
This really worked for me
I'm 13 5,7 and weigh 188 pounds if I build up muscle couldn't I play wide receiver or running back in high school and I grow pretty fast
You sound like a rb bro, 5'7" almost 190! Say hi to goaline tds bro lol
+1234j50 maybe you're just fat
+Jeremy Nguyen maybe your just a lonely ass dude that sits on the bench and play around in practice and don't start and I already turned it into muscle so lol goodnight I would probably knock your helmet off if you even play
thats funny kid try growing some
+Jeremy Nguyen your probably like 1 year or 2 older than me but Ima be the mature one and just say hope to see you on the field when we're older
Cool thanks
A good db won’t take a strip forward while jamming and wind allow you to sun by then like that
I'm 13 and 5'4 100lbs. Am I wr material? Pls respond
yes, you're still gonna get taller and bigger
+Peter Griffin I'm 14 5'6/5'7 146lbs should I try for wr?
I'm 14 and 6'2
+Erick Gallegos You need to workout more and get your strength up 140lbs sounds like a push over

+Josh Garca yeah man, thanks, idk, I think I might stick as a line backer lol. Thank you

+CHINITOGUZ TEN yeah lol then it's probably better than that but linebacker sounds good for you and that's definetly good size for 16
+Josh Garca yeah man, but with training hopefully I can get faster and aim for something like RB or WR or I'll be the future Ray Lewis lmaoo but hey man I appreciate the advise. Ive never played football with pads and stuff so this was helpful
thanks man U da G.O.A.T
Im training with him in a week
My issue is getting my hands up in time
This shit kills lungers trying to press
This comment section is interesting... half day do it half say don't can you give a reason for both because I feel it's very situational and can be good and bad. What do you think.
You're able to snatch the DB? I thought you just push his arms away from the direction you want to run.
What about if he doesn't jam you, that will slow you down and you will look stupid
Charbel Wadih you probably should wait until you figure out the corner, if hes been jamming everytime he presses then its smart to do this. Theres more moves to use, this is a situational one, cant always use it.
Is this a risky move?
