I like this Socia-Media guy you have here, you guys have good banter back and forth. Can't wait to give you my JDM MR2 turbo next spring for a one-take. I'll be coming down from Canada!
Wow, very unique sound here. Only other V8 car I've heard with such a sonorous song for an exhaust note was the 4.0 V8, a la E92 M3. For the money, it's a nice base to build off from. Weight reduction, moderate handling improvements and mild go-fast improvements and the loudest exhaust possible is all she needs.
If GT Sport is any indication, the 2020 RC F's updates make it one of the best handling cars, for me, despite being 3900lbs. And with a bolt-on supercharger kit, it'll drop an R8 from a dig like it's not even trying. Let alone what they can do when they're twin turbo.
Got the RCF 2015 in platinum red seats and all the goodies and love it. Great job guys in your review, it is what it is ,a luxurious coup that has balls. Thanks guys!!!
Your reviews or whatever are very honest. Better than other channels and you aren't biased or don't talk good about a car because of how you like the manufacturer.
+Carl Manney 90% are leased new so reliability is a non-factor. RCF is NOT selling at all and may be cut after 2016 MY.......long term its going to be a great car for sure and one of the last with a NA V8!
+TheSmokingTire Best be careful. Cheez-It is a helluva drug. A gateway drug. First it's Cheez-It, then it's JAX, and next thing you know you're buying 1990s canisters of original Planters Cheez Balls.
I think the understeer issue is pretty easy to fix actually. The car I test-drove had 225's Pilot Super Sports on the front and despite this tire being amazing, it's just not enough, especially considering how much it weights. I'm pretty sure M3's fronts are 255's and that car is 200kg less with lighter engine in the front.
+camryt You must have driven a 350 then. The RCF does indeed come with a 255/275 staggered setup. Even with a decent OE tire they still suffer from copious amounts of understeer. They have limited front camber (and dynamic camber gain) from the factory. Adjustable upper control arms are needed to get more static camber in this case. Daily driving the car is fine the way it is, but in the track environment it would become a frustrating affair. But even then you're still stuck with a 4000# coupe. Lexus just designed their newer generation cars to understeer, my 2014 IS350 still pushes heavily with extra camber and RE-11's now (11 trackdays with various setups). Neither is a sports car, but both are still fun and reliable. M3, C63, and ATS-V need not worry :)
+camryt its 255/275 super sports on the RCF, but there is enough room to put wider tires on it. TVD helps reduce the understeer. ISF had 225 fronts though.
+kma198199 Does one need to be a fat guy to enjoy the everlasting love and grace that is the Cheez It? Cheese NIPS are for disgusting slobs..Cheez ITS are the snack of distinguished individuals. Especially if you allow your saliva to SOAK them...Much like messy phalluswork...Then chew.
+kma198199 heeeeey. Swear to god, they belonged to Matt's GF, they had the press car for the week before we went to shoot. Also, FYI it is the Quarter Ton of Fun package.
Hey Matt, next time you are in Northern New Jersey, drive 15 minutes north on rt.17 into New York, and enter Harriman State Park, A.K.A. 7 Lakes Drive! Beautiful road, the main being long and fast with connecting roads that are windy. The pavement is super smooth, and there are occasional cops, (mostly on weekends) but if you have a radar you should be fine.
Hey Matt if you don't mind answering..how do avoid getting pulled over in all of these one takes? With my luck I would get pulled over in the first 5 minutes how do you avoid it when you are making tons of these videos??
+omgfroobynoobs This isnt the first positive review there are a alot that praise the RCF but the main reviews shit on the car and I never believe them and thank god i didn't. They keep comparing the car to other in the class. That takes away from how great the car is on its own. The RCF is its own beast not to be compared to others. This is the BEST rounded high performance coupe in the class as they stated in the video it does everything great nothing bad where the M4 has issue where its too much TQ doesn't ride well in the streets, pricey options that are standard on the RCF. You can live with the RCF it doesn't have to be a weekend car and thats a testament to Lexus engineering that they can build a car of such a high caliber AND make it usable everyday. On a test track the RCF is only about a 1 sec behind a M4? your getting a car that does it all and can track close to a M3. Thats a fucking win. Honestly lap time i could care less I dont live on a race track so lap times are point less. The RCF is better on the streets and thats where these cars spend most if not all of their time. The V8 is smooth, instant and powerful the car doesn't get enough credit and im glad this video gave it the praise it deserves this was a genuine review and we get to see how trurly great the car is.
Yes the seat heaters are terrible on the 2014-2015 Lexus vehicles. There are lots of complaints on the forums for that exact issue. Supposedly they fixed the newest cars but I doubt it's much of a difference. I miss my old E46 BMW seats that would be smoking before the car was even warm! At least the sport seats are really comfortable (aside from the extra adjustments).
+Michael Williams Not everyone has access to 4-500HP machhines. Some people enjoy reviews of regular cars with some slight mods. Looks are subjective. Great engine sound & driving dynamics for a great price on the used car market.
If you're ever giving one away.. it's top of my list. Sure, some super cars are better looking, etc… but it seems like the most reasonably priced daily driver with all the fun of a sports car. In a couple of years I should be able to buy one lightly used :)
This is one of the first reviews that actually highlights what the car is about. I feel everybody slating it for "not being an M4" are just copying Jeremy Clarkson; as much as I like the guy, he got in it with his "I
+Jared Rosenholtz Well, if you aren't a driving enthusiast why buy an M4 from BMW? You would just buy a standard 3 or 5 series, or if you are really not a car person just get a camry or accord.
+Jeff K because I think the people who buy an m4 might consider cross shopping this car. However, if they are cross shopping this car, they have to understand that it doesn't handle track capability in the same way, but it is probably the more comfortable real world car. Many people write this car completely for being terrible after Clarkson's review. It's not a bad car, just not as "good" to drive in Clarkson's very specific requirements for a car.
+zerooneonefive chris is great, but unless you can drive like chris a lot of the stuff isn't relevant to how you use a car. Unless you're legitimately doing a M4 / RCF lap battle, you would think the RCF handles fine.
yo thats crazy, westbrook road west milford nj on the smoking tire? "we are somewhere we dont wanna be so lets turn around" lol ps the vrealands store is actually a restaurant believe it or not
What do you mean figure out a new styling feature, in regards to the track pad. There should be a button by default that disables that track pad. Quick easy fix!
IMO this car is for what it is and nothing else. I dont like it when it is compared to other cars like the m4 and the c63 amg... I love the other 2 cars no doubt, but i love the lexus purely because its a lexus! It's reliable, it looks good, it has presence.
I never really considered this car to a m3 or Audi, but seeing it on the road made me realize its a much better "car" at the expense of some minor performance let downs that really only show on the track. For the money, and with the V8 this actually a really cool car. Can't stand the blue or red though.
Hey Matt, if you are ever in the north NJ region again, I have a mint GSX and GST eclipse for you to drive. I'll even show you were the good driving roads are! haha
Hey Matt can you do a decent review of the 2016 Jaguar XJL-R(not a one take)?? I really would love to see it cause im thinking about to buy one next year!!!!
If we do it will be a one take for sure. That video would never bring in enough Views to justify a camera crew. Probably wouldn't even bring in enough views to justify my time filming it, if I'm honest.
Ultra Sonic Blue Mica is the best color for this car. Makes it look amazing. An M4 still looks better but in 10 years the RC-F will be running, the M4 will probably need significant maintenance. NA V8 vs FI is no contest. Interior fit and finish is great. M4 will be more fun the first 5 years, the RC-F will be less headaches and a hell of a lot more rare. I never see them and that's a positive for me. That's coming from an M3 driver for 12 years.
This was the last jersey video. People overwhelmingly want me to travel for these videos, but frankly I'm not that into traveling. Not having local knowledge sucks.
+TheSmokingTire What other states are you filming in Sir? I would love to see you hit Road Atlanta. But I do love the roads in California that you drive on. Oh, and you should get a hold of the Hennessey Venom GT. That would be your greatest ONE TAKE video honestly. It will truly show your enthusiast side. And put emphasis on how unbelievably fast one of my fastest cars is
Ive seen both, but honestly there isnt many videos showing what it can do. I hoped since you had such an great time driving it. You would love to take an one take with one.
hey smoking tire team! Given this and the Grand sport corvette might be around the same price. which would you recommend more as a daily. I don't care about back seats :) I have a Prius as a extra ride and a bike to go balls to the walls as well.
The only last request I have for that car: Toyota / Lexus, why no 6MT? Would you be so kind to have that as an option? That would be my only reason why I'd choose the BMW over this... Matt, an aftermarket exhaust system would cure that of what you dislike about the stacked exhaust tip look
Great One Take. Your One Take's where you either review a press car or don't have the owner along for the drive seem to be the most informative and enjoyable.
I bought a 2015 rc f in Dec almost a year together I adore her my fav car so gorgeous n fun no regrets till death do us part I get goosebumps just looking at it and the sound 🎉😂
in the Netherlands the rcf is about ten grand more expensive than the bmw m4 coupe, about the same price as a m4 convertible. it's a shame lexus don't put a manual gearbox in these.
Love my RCF...better than the ISF I owned. Ultrasonic Blue Mica II is the only color for these cars..and they're right about the curb appeal. People on the street love it. Only issue for me is staying out of trouble. This car pulls hard way beyond trip to jail speed...
Lexus and Acura are solid cars for the price. They are not that expensive (compared to other luxury brands). They are always reliable as well. Lexus is a little better even though I own a Acura. You can never go wrong with a Lexus or Acura!
The front is GS midsection is IS C convertible and rear is IS... That's why I think the car weighs soo much... Had they started with clean sheet... I think it would have been much lighter
+TheSmokingTire pre-production? Says so on the BMW website that it's standard. You can't even option it in/out on their configurator. Not sure why the one they gave you didn't have it
+TheSmokingTire There is no such thing as a 2014 F80 M3. I have a first year F80 M3 (2015). Navigation was standard. You could have had some weird press car. Comfort access is now standard. Gone are the days of a true stripper M3, kinda sad actually. At least cloth is still available.
The RC-F: The fast, performance, luxurious coupé who don't care about the track, like to keep their cars for a long time (good luck with that with its competitors), and want something that's unique.
RC-F is the muscle car that Toyota wanted to build but was afraid to, as a Toyota. Decontented, for price, and restyled, to fit it Toyota line up, it would have been a very convincing alternative to the Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger.
Freddy Liang The RC-F is no faster, is less agile mostly because it weighs more, than a Mustang GT or Camaro SS, but cost $20+K more. Fifth Gear is posting a segment of the RC-F versus a M4. the RC-F is HUGE compared the the M4 which itself is only marginally less big than a new Mustang GT. Fat American Muscle Car? You clearly do not know what you are talking about.
I gotta say, that engine bay looks real nice. I love that blue intake manifold.
+Sam Stoner i like your maplestory avatar mate
+Michael Y Kwon Dota 2, actually.
its crystal maiden in maple story graphics, cool. I thought it was nexon wearables
I like this Socia-Media guy you have here, you guys have good banter back and forth. Can't wait to give you my JDM MR2 turbo next spring for a one-take. I'll be coming down from Canada!

@@izayoiaifuyu Why did you pick the R8 to compare?
9:24 11mph never sounded so sweet!
+SoCalSupercars it was 12 mph he's a liar
This one goes to 11!
110?
This is probably the first favorable review of the RCF I've ever seen. Interesting, contrarian perspective, at the very least.
Savagegeese has a favorable review too, good video.
Engineeringexplained also had a favorable review
Maybe some more Bill in videos. He did well.
He would either have to drive, or sit in the back seat then. You must be talking about when they do these press cars.
+kma198199 any car that doesn't come with an owner/rep for one takes lol go Bill!
+Chris Anglin Yes, more Bill.
Got the RCF 2015 in platinum red seats and all the goodies and love it. Great job guys in your review, it is what it is ,a luxurious coup that has balls. Thanks guys!!!
Well said I adore my 2015 rc f my fav car ever perfect 4 me still falling in love n get chills just staring amazing car
Your reviews or whatever are very honest. Better than other channels and you aren't biased or don't talk good about a car because of how you like the manufacturer.
Just bought myself an infrared rcf just like this one too! Love it!
I'll take this over a unreliable M4 any day, proper V8 and bullet proof reliability
+Carl Manney I agree with you!
+Carl Manney Didnt realize an m4 was unreliable btw haha I have 50k on my m4 already and its needed nothing but oil changes and tires ;)
+Max Power 50k is nothing dude lmao let me know if you get to 200k in one lmao I've got a buddy with a Lexus that's got 550k on it 50k is child's play
+Max Power Seriously 50k...the engine is still breaking in lol
+Carl Manney 90% are leased new so reliability is a non-factor.
RCF is NOT selling at all and may be cut after 2016 MY.......long term its going to be a great car for sure and one of the last with a NA V8!
0:31 are you sponsored by Cheez-It? lol
No one will believe me but my girlfriend is like addicted to Cheez it and left those there. I didn't notice until editing the video
+TheSmokingTire well handled matt, i bet cheez it gives you a bonus check for that one.
+TheSmokingTire Best be careful. Cheez-It is a helluva drug. A gateway drug. First it's Cheez-It, then it's JAX, and next thing you know you're buying 1990s canisters of original Planters Cheez Balls.
Damn I'm gonna go buy a couple boxes now.
+Bigboomer hell no

It surely was the RCF, but why on earth would it have 225's in the front? That's really weird.
+ForTehNguyen So it's $3000 in wheels and tires away from having a little better balance?
That's not SO terrible.
+camryt just make the rear suspension stiffer it wont understeer anymore.
Does the RCF come with the Cheez-its?
+assassin72 Yes!
That comes with the "fat guy package"
Because this car isn't heavy enough.
+kma198199 Does one need to be a fat guy to enjoy the everlasting love and grace that is the Cheez It?

14:45 I see that box of Cheez-It in the back seat!
Love this car. I had the pleasure to drive one up in Canada. love the power from the RC-F. didn't love the price point from our Canadian dealers.
Hey Matt if you don't mind answering..how do avoid getting pulled over in all of these one takes? With my luck I would get pulled over in the first 5 minutes how do you avoid it when you are making tons of these videos??
+CMara 369 He's not white though, he's jewish.
He has eyes and drives in Angeles Forest roads. Combine those and u won't get pulled over.
I'm very surprised nobody has offered a very nice and custom out truck for you to review . Great review doe!!!
Bill is like the Jonny Libbierman of TST, you and him make a good team reviewing cars. Good work fellers!
Matt and Bill is the best team!
Great vid! Always enjoy your reviews. Can you please let us know the links to your other review videos? Thanks!
Using a seat heater on a "50 something day" AND complaining it didn't get hot enough - If that doesn't say Californian, I don't know what does :)
the exhaust sounds so nice
First time I actually hear something positive about this car all other reviews people tend to not like it.
+omgfroobynoobs This isnt the first positive review there are a alot that praise the RCF but the main reviews shit on the car and I never believe them and thank god i didn't. They keep comparing the car to other in the class. That takes away from how great the car is on its own.
The RCF is its own beast not to be compared to others. are you guys coming to mexico one day?
have you tried the extra toasted cheez its?
Yes the seat heaters are terrible on the 2014-2015 Lexus vehicles. There are lots of complaints on the forums for that exact issue. At least the sport seats are really comfortable (aside from the extra adjustments).
Hope you can review a G37 Sedan someday, Matt.
+Nate Dogg ...Why?
No power, OK chassis. Not good looking. Not a lot to know about the G37. A typical, boring, Nissanmobile.
Simply cause I own one. Looks are also subjective and I dig it.
+Michael Williams Not everyone has access to 4-500HP machhines. Some people enjoy reviews of regular cars with some slight mods. Looks are subjective. Great engine sound & driving dynamics for a great price on the used car market.
+Shav this
If you're ever giving one away.. it's top of my list. Sure, some super cars are better looking, etc… but it seems like the most reasonably priced daily driver with all the fun of a sports car. In a couple of years I should be able to buy one lightly used :)

Clarkson hated this car, but I kind of like it. It is a better car for non car people that will never use the capabilities of an m4.
+Jared Rosenholtz
Well, if you aren't a driving enthusiast why buy an M4 from BMW? You would just buy a standard 3 or 5 series, or if you are really not a car person just get a camry or accord.
+Jeff K because I think the people who buy an m4 might consider cross shopping this car. +TheSmokingTire thats what I assume during most Clarkson and Harris reviews. I like to see cars in the real world where they will actually be used.
+zerooneonefive Well i would hardly say he hated it, but on course it was.. dissapointing
The fact that this was filmed right around the corner of my house in west milford makes me sad I never saw it
yo thats crazy, westbrook road west milford nj on the smoking tire? "we are somewhere we dont wanna be so lets turn around" lol ps the vrealands store is actually a restaurant believe it or not
What do you mean figure out a new styling feature, in regards to the track pad. There should be a button by default that disables that track pad. Quick easy fix!
didn't he say last video that this was then end to the new jersey mini series?
hi Matt or anyone else , how does the RCF compare to the older ISF in terms of drivng experience , handling and performance
Better in every way
are you ever coming to nashville?
@smokingtire, where in new Jersey were you. Would love to drive that road, seems like a little gem for new jersey

Hey Matt can you do a decent review of the 2016 Jaguar XJL-R(not a one take)?? I really would love to see it cause im thinking about to buy one next year!!!!
If we do it will be a one take for sure. That video would never bring in enough

I really like these one takes, but this nj location is really bad. Lots of traffic, low speedlimits, not so good roads. More canyons coming up?
This was the last jersey video. People overwhelmingly want me to travel for these videos, but frankly I'm not that into traveling. Not having local knowledge sucks.
+TheSmokingTire What other states are you filming in Sir? I would love to see you hit Road Atlanta. But I do love the roads in California that you drive on. Ive seen both, but honestly there isnt many videos showing what it can do. I hoped since you had such an great time driving it. You would love to take an one take with one.
+TheSmokingTire So there will never be any one takes in Europe..? :( You would fall in love with the roads in Southern France and Switzerland
I just watch you on tv. We really enjoyed it
Hey I'm back! I'm looking at buying one of these
How about the Challenger Scat Pack?
where in north jersey are you?
What road is this? I'm in north NJ as well
Where in NJ are they
Is this not the same engine/trans as a ISF? How would you compare it to that as far as power goes Matt?
It makes 40 more horsepower than the ISF and shifts faster.
are the back seats usable? sounds like there were 3 of you travelling around
Yes if a normal sized person is in front. No one is fitting behind me
+TheSmokingTire Me either
Just wondering how long you wait when you pull over to let a vehicle (IE dump truck) get far ahead of you that you won't catch up with it again?
2-3 minutes
Cool, thats not as long as I was thinking.
Great looking car.
Hey Matt when are you going to drive a Genesis Coupe???! 2nd generation preferably
Where in north NJ was this?
Ringwood, by Skyline Drive
Thanks. Finally got an answer 10 months later, haha. Thanks Matt. Oh...
Ha, yea was just going through some older videos now. Actually put me in the mood, taking the Cobra out there in a little.
mnetwork Very nice!!
Is this the guy who replies to me when I tweet @thesmokingtire?
What town in north Jersey?
Ringwood, by Skyline Drive
So Mr. Farah, would you rather have this, the 4, or the S5?
It’s almost like you didn’t watch the video.
lol second Avanti you see in a one take in NJ... I'm gonna start believing that you see those all the time in NJ :)
hey smoking tire team! Given this and the Grand sport corvette might be around the same price. which would you recommend more as a daily. I don't care about back seats :) I have a Prius as a extra ride and a bike to go balls to the walls as well.
Henry Wong get the Lexus. Corvettes are for douche bags, or old men in retirement.
Nice Cheez-it Storage Area in the back!
how does it compare to the Audi RS5, C63, and the M4?
wheres the weight come from in these things..

under the hood, we have a box of cheez its...and some neat sunglasses
Billy wants to take over the steering wheel. Watch your back mate!
Is this car faster than a 435i with an Enzo tune?
460, ist that what the lfa made?
How much was TVD on TCF thanks
Review the C63 W205 Coupe Matt!

Is there a RC F sedan? Why include the word coupe?
+Justin Donahue cuz it's a coupe. its in the name. don't make a big deal out of something so minor.
+AntLicious So Lexus Responsive Coupe coupe? Its redundant.
+Justin Donahue Its just called Lexus RCF, not RCF coupe
just like ISF isnt called ISF sedan
review the gs-f pls.
I like Bill.
Imagine this with a wide body and a sick exhaust
If I'm honest the accidental cheez it plug actually made me want some.
Love my RCF...better than the ISF I owned. Ultrasonic Blue Mica II is the only color for these cars..and they're right about the curb appeal. People on the street love it. Only issue for me is staying out of trouble. This car pulls hard way beyond trip to jail speed...
Exactly how is your RC F better than the IS F?
Lexus and Acura are solid cars for the price. They are not that expensive (compared to other luxury brands). They are always reliable as well. Lexus is a little better even though I own a Acura. You can never go wrong with a Lexus or Acura!
Snow mode actually sounds a lot like an eco mode as well.
The front is GS midsection is IS C convertible and rear is IS... That's why I think the car weighs soo much... Had they started with clean sheet... I think it would have been much lighter
anyone else think they were being overtaken at 9:23 !!
Never knew there was a 250 lbs+ only hiring rule at The Smoking Tire.
+shorty4life6 that was funny
+Mitchell Mitchell go buy a sense of humor off of Amazon. You are pathetic and uneducated....
shorty4life6 you used the ellipses at the end of your sentence wrong
First of all you can't buy a sense of humor off Amazon, I already tried.
Thin people need not apply
I know the feel of all lexus cars i drive 3 of them. The is250F is my favorite
I have a 250 and it's way too slow and underpowered. IS350 is better.
You actually do get a navigation system on a base m3/m4
Mine had the screen but no actual GPS functionality.
+TheSmokingTire pre-production? Says so on the BMW website that it's standard. You can't even option it in/out on their configurator. Not sure why the one they gave you didn't have it
+Bashar F mine was a 2014, maybe they added it
+TheSmokingTire There is no such thing as a 2014 F80 M3. I have a first year F80 M3 (2015). Navigation was standard. You could have had some weird press car. Comfort access is now standard. Gone are the days of a true stripper M3, kinda sad actually. At least cloth is still available.
+Tim C maybe it was some strange preproduction thing
The RC-F: The fast, performance, luxurious coupé who don't care about the track, like to keep their cars for a long time (good luck with that with its competitors), and want something that's unique.
Nice car
third and very nice coupe
How can this be a "Professional" video with Cheese It's in the background? Hmm, Mathew? :-D
RC-F is the muscle car that Toyota wanted to build but was afraid to, as a Toyota. Decontented, for price, and restyled, to fit it Toyota line up, it would have been a very convincing alternative to the Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger.
+DocWolph Muscle car what? is a luxury sports coupe. Is build for cornering and canyon road. not drag race like fat american muscle car.
Freddy Liang
The RC-F is no faster, is less agile mostly because it weighs more, than a Mustang GT or Camaro SS, but cost $20+K more.
Fifth Gear is posting a segment of the RC-F versus a M4. the RC-F is HUGE compared the the M4 which itself is only marginally less big than a new Mustang GT.
Fat American Muscle Car? You clearly do not know what you are talking about.
remind me the looks of the bmw 6 series
