This is one of the better reviews as a panthers fan. If ppl actually watched the games then they’d see that on 95% of the plays…the receiver are being stuck to like glue. Bryce is making the reads…he just can’t throw it to anyone
They lost by 3. If Olave drops his 40-yard one hander and Mingo catches the 15 yard first down that hit him in the hands, the game could've easily been 20-17 Panthers.
He has a ton of talent, they'll start building around him , it takes a while when you're picking at number 1, remember Peyton Manning's first year? Or worse yet Troy Aikman?
Young can’t lace Peytons boots Peyton manning threw 27 tds and 28 picks and threw for 3600 yards Bryce young hasent shown us anything like that, he’s dead in the water, all while can stroud and Richardson are killing it right now
He was behind a solid wall at Alabama, and playing teams where 90% of those players CANNOT make it to the pros. It covered up his weaknesses which are: arm strength (very tight windows in the NFL), movement (defenses are faster than him) and size (every QB gets hit eventually). He is not NFL material.
Which shows either the incompetence of the higher ups who chose to draft him, or it's just staged league bs and they were told to draft him for the storyline
bro played against SEC teams and you still said “90% of them won’t make the NFL”. bro is good when he has time to throw. that’s the problem the Panthers had. He was the number 1 recruit for a reason and the number 1 pick for a reason. You don’t get that by being a scrub. He has so much talent, but he needs a good o line. He was not good his first year but neither was the entire team. He has some blame in the failure that was the Panthers 2023 season, but so does every other player on the team. He will not thrive unless he’s able to pass the ball to open receivers who can catch. He can scramble, but he’s primarily a passer. It’s where he shines. Just look at his best game against Georgia, who had probably the best defense in the country, and see how he picked them apart. He needs to be better, I admit that, but I don’t think we can write him off at this point in his career.
Nice video Ecky. I don’t think this is 100% Brice’s fault. Coming from an unbiased Steelers fan, I think that Young definitely didn’t have a very good game and while I’m not a brice young guy, I do still have hope that he will show flashes
I see a lot of potential in Bryce... he can read and react instinctually. Much better than some QBs in thier third year like with Chicago. Give him an offensive line...hes small... he needs a good OL
We have a offensive line it was top 10 last year. He had all day to throw vs the falcons first game saints just have a good pass rush and we have 2 starters out.
Carolina, if you watch their games, especially on offense, they just look so damn soft. All intensity left when they let Steve Wilks walk. They aren't nearly as physical, and look worse, despite making improvements on the roster since last year. They got their franchise qb, signed a few recievers to replace dj moore, and they got a new "offensive minded" coach. But they just can't click. Their o line has relapsed, miles sanders is ass, their receivers get no separation, their defense is injury-riddled, they haven't signed brian burns to an extension, and don't even get me started on the playcalling. It makes me so disappointing to watch my panthers stuck in fucking purgatory due to their soft ass coach.
It is extra challenging for Bryce to become a successful starting QB in the NFL. He is s slightly built, when he gets hit it's going to cause fumbles and joint/soft tissue damage more than a bigger man and on his interception in the redzone it looked clear to me that he didn't see the defender ball hawking him because his vision was limited behind the OL and DL which had only been slightly pushed back into him. That is what you get at 5'9" 178 lbs vs a more prototypical sized QB
He's in the hell justin fields was last year. They HAVE to improve the talent around him. And when they do, it still will take a while to gel (as we've seen w/ Bears). They GOTTA keep him from gettin hit too much though, or they will ruin him. He's already playing like he knows they cant protect him. 4 games in? That's concerning. Hopefully they can trade for a reciever because the current ones are not helping him either
Nobody open on pass plays, consistently and HORRIFIC protection from his o-line. What more do we expect from him? Isn't he on one of the worst rosters in the NFL?
David Tepper the owner of the team specifically said he doesn’t want to have elite receivers so they can have money to spend on defense. So you draft a rookie QB and purposefully don’t get him talented receivers. It has to be the stupidest team personnel management on the history of the nfl
Tepper needs to hire people that know football and let them run ..he and his wife need to get out of the damn way…Dude spends over 2 billion dollars buying the team and they’re the laughing stock of the NFL. Frank Reich sure isn’t the solution either..he just seems completely out of it..he’s too laid back and doesn’t seem to expect much, no drive, no enthusiasm. I can definitely see where the players are not engaged very much with a so called coach like that, the Panthers will never be anything until someone gets involved that knows what they’re doing and Tepper gets out of the way!!!!!
Well what do you expect when kids in college see money instead of developing their game while in school. So quick to leave college early and sign them NFL contracts
Bryce Young has been pathetic. Can't hit open receivers, throwing interceptions and turning the ball over. We were told he was some kind of football savant and was NFL ready now. Looking like a bust already.
We absolutely can expect that. That was their sole reason for drafting him. They said he was like a point guard. They said he talks football like a 40yr old man. They said he was a fast processor. They said his football IQ was off the charts hence the high S2 scores. They said he was a playmaker and could work with whatever Carolina had. Turns out.....those words were meant for CJ not Bryce. CJs entire OL are all 2nd and 3rd string guys due to injury. His top reciever has never seen more than 480 yards in a season til CJ came along. CJ elevates that team making them better. Bryce makes Panthers worse
Idk why ppl acted like Reich was a good hiring. My dads a colts fan so I watched EVERY single Reich colts game. His play calling… abysmal. It was miserable. The OC, now eagles HC, carried him. Fire Reich if u want a chance panthers, but he’ll prob be there for years anyways
the good thing with reich is as a person people love him. he ended up hiring a great staff around him. the problem with him is his ego when it comes down to playcalling he needs to give play calling over to thomas brown who is a great offensive mind that coached under mcvay
Not because he couldn’t find an open receiver but literally because there isn’t one to be found. He throws it even when he expects you to get open but still no separation
Yeah, should count 1,2,3, release the ball or scramble, he's seeing those big defenders are much faster in the NFL and hes freaked out, I wouldnt want to die either
Tired of excuses for these QBs. Bad o-line, bad coaching, rusty, no WR, etc. Josh Allen, Bryce Young, Zach Wilson, Joe Burrow, Justine Herbert, Kurt Cousins, Daniel Jones, Carr, etc. But Cam newton’s last two stints, he had huge obstacles. But excuses were not allowed. The man should be on a team.
let it go man. after the shoulder injury he has very much struggled to throw the ball accurately. and now he’s old to the point where he’s not as good of a running qb. it’s past his time. and that’s okay. you just gotta let it go
