- In this video, a Guyanese-Venezuelan woman who is living in impoverished conditions shares her struggles living at the Parika Sea Dam, East Bank Essequibo. She remigrated to Guyana in 2019 with her Venezuelan husband, daughter and son. They are among the 25,000 people who have fled Venezuela to escape the social and economic crisis. Her husband, a mason, and her son are working and she would do domestic work sometimes. Her daughter does not work because she cannot speak English that well and because she has a one-year-old son. Her husband has a disability, where one leg is longer than other, after suffering an accident. But he does not let it bother him and adjusts the bottom of the for the shorter leg so he can walk straight. The family was paying a rent of $20,000 for small one-bedroom house but moved because they would not afford it. They got some free boards from the sawmill and built their own house on the Parika Sea Dam. But that is not the condition they want to live in and badly wants to move.

WoW lots of people living like that. WoW
YOU ARE A BRAVE AND UNDERSTANDING WOMAN....AND I HOPE THE GOVERNMENT OF GUYANA WILL LOOK INTO YOUR SUITUATION AND HELP YOU....
How do we go about donating to these wonderful people? I just love her positive outlook on things. Clothes, and necessities how do we ship out to her family or all families that live there? She's a fellow Guyanese, the government had better take some of that billion-dollar oil money we got and help all those alongside the borders. And for her husband? He could be a shoemaker.

I LOVE THE LADY, I DEFINITELY UNDERSTAND SHE IS NOT LOOKING FOR HAND OUTS , GUYANA HAD A LOT OF LAND
She reminds me of my dad who used to say, I cried because I had no shoes until I met the man who had no feet. Very positive vibes from this family who sees the glass half full instead of half empty.
Amazing lady! She is very positive and inspite of her current circumstances, she keeps smiling
May God bless them. had to run to other countries once.
Thank you for sharing these videos, it's another part of Guyana that is not shown much. I'm planning a trip to Guyana in March and would love to meet with you.

Ahh. What a wonderful woman full of enthusiasts. She is determined and that's amazing, she doesn't show self pity she is just accepting life as it comes and is living with great hopes and aspirations. She should go into the immigration and apply for her husband's documents. I am positive that this family will eventually live a very contented life from her positive outlook on the future ♥️♥️♥️🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾👍🏽👍🏽💯💯🙏❤❤❤🇬🇾🇬🇾♥️
The government need to help this woman with a house and land , she have the dream , to pay for it , ( help her please) 🙏

@@krishendatjitu1846 yes, that’s true
@@krishendatjitu1846 Why? Plenty of us, born Guyanese, live worse than that. The government needs to help us, Guyanese, out of poverty and into our own homes. Guyanese should not have to live under these conditions any longer. The ministry responsible for social conditions of the populace, needs to get its act together. Guyana is now in a position to enable this lady and her family and other families like hers, to live their lives with dignity.
Has anyone tried reaching this woman confirming she has been notified of others willing to help her.. Thank you for your video as well 😊

This is a very positive lady...hope she achieves all her goals. There is no shortage of food items anymore in Venezuela. However, it's a dolarized society now. You have to pay most things in US dollars and most people earn bolivar.
Yes, I’ve heard that they have to purchase in dollars but they’re being paid in bolivar
Go meet the housing Minister to get the land. Lord help this family.
Venezuela reminds us of Burnham times when we used to line up for everything
Sis you doing an amazing job

Shabna, great videos, its touching to see Guyanese living in that condition. Sometimes in life, we just need a push start and that's what she need. I read almost all the comments on this video, many people are willing to help, including myself. I will definitely call her. Can you do a follow up on her situation?

No Guyanese should be living in such Deplorable conditions are the rich GUYANA 🇬🇾 this is how some Guyanese citizens are living struggling to make ends meet listen to the BIG Budget for the past four days where is all the Oil money GOING TO friends family and favorite !!! The rich Guyanese are getting RICHER “ SAD SAD 😔

Thank you so much for your comment
well the gov cant do miricles in 2 years, pnc had 5 years and they hardly build any houses, in2 years Gov give thousands their homes and land, the couple will in the future get their house for sure. in the mean time she and her husband can apply for training to learn a skill free of charge. Venezulians must be helped.
Yes trust in lord hard work pays off
This woman is good spirited and positive. By comparison to other Guyanese, she has a big lot that she grow# things on, and her house is fairly good. She should get her husband and family to become Guyanese citizens. Good luck.
Thanks for your comment. She should and they would all do well here
She is so sweet 🙏
I hope Guyana's oil revenue will help families like these and trust me when I say Guyana has numerous said families under such strenuous living conditions. The govt has to do more for the people of Guyana because while focusing on the infrastructure for Guyana's growth several families struggle and with a population as small as Guyana's, no one should have to live in impoverishment. It is sad!!!
That’s so true… thanks for your comment
well 3 years since the first withdrawl of the oil money, I am sure they should have Norway standard of living in 3 years, mind you Norway took 30 years.
I think you should open a gofundme to help her out
I can look into it…. But her main concern now is to get the land and then she’ll need money to build
You will have to do a "go fund me" for most of the black people who are living in Guyana.

Shabna, Thanks for bringing us back to earth. I hope the husband can get into the trades as there seems to be a shortage of trades people.
Thank you for your comment and support. Yes he and his son both have jobs as mason, even though the pay is not that great

Much respect to her, seems she's living better than lot of Americans 🙂
@eric hall. Are you serious? Maybe you need to go live on a mud dam in Guyana.
@DPC Wing contentment is the key word
How can we donate or set up a fund to give a micro loan to folks like this? Shabna can you find a way to set up a fund?
That’s a very good idea… We’ll have to figure something out

If my mom could do it as a single woman with four children anyone can do it.From light 💡 ,water to build a house and shop she use to do sewing and go to the market and sell what ever she sewed while her young children will run the shop and look after the house cleaning , and minding 200. Chicken for selling e c t, she build a home and shop send four older children to school abroad with four younger ones from 15-3 years old all by her self. It was not easy for her life fall apart after eight children then she had to start all over again with just a first stander education no husband, mother or father she had to make it happen with the grace of God . She never complain how hard it was ,God bless that lady I call mother may she Rest In Peace.
