As an ex-Police Officer, I implore ALL biological women to outright and categorically REFUSE to let themselves be searched by anyone other than a biological woman.
Despite what you are told (or threatened with), you are on solid ground by making such demands.

I like Katy very much as a person, and what she says. She's super! But as far as jail is concerned, I don't think transgender people should be indulged at the possible alarm, even danger, of the vast majority of cisgender. If transgenders don't like it, I'd say: if you don't want to do the time, don't commit the crime. No one forces a criminal to do wrong by society - and if they had been forced, presumably they wouldn't have been sent to jail anyway. NB: We certainly don't need to copy California's way of doing things - they're off their heads!

Maybe you'd like to explain why women (and men) need to be labelled with the cis prefix. We have been men and women since the dawn of language and we don't need a prefix assigned to us by the Trans community to denote what we are. They are offended when pronouns aren't used but they are perfectly happy to label us with an insulting prefix we never asked for . They need the prefix Trans to distinguish themselves from the norm. We don't need one. If you don't know what you are without a Trans-created descriptive then you have major problems.I'm pretty sure your parents, grandparents, and their ancestors never had this problem.

A far more moderate take, I’ve thought for some time now that the majority operated in good faith, wanting to ‘err on the side of caution’ and do the right thing - but they were taken advantage of and are still taken advantage of by radicals who just wanted victories. The subject of trans suicide for example, just assumed to be the product of ‘transphobia’, without fully considering what else might be going on, we just accepted a false causality and so trans issues advanced into areas reasonable discussion would not have allowed.
Excellent point on the police btw and speaks to a quite separate problem of a police culture acting as the publics wardens and not their servants, this idea they choose who they will make uncomfortable… well they don’t HAVE to do that to anyone and where searching is essential a third way must be found.
