    In 2017, Your Golf Travel, Mark Crossfield and Coach Lockey set off to play a wide variety of golfing locations across the golfing kingdom that is Andalucia. Armed with factor 50, an armada of golf balls and a faithful Vauxhall Zafira, 18 golf courses were played...at a par of 72. Incidents occured. Golf balls were lost and birdies were found.
    This series of videos, which form part of an 18-hole match showcased just what Andalucia has to offer, from the coastal views in Huelva to the mountainous terrain in Marbella to the desert like courses in Almeria.
    Rory takes you through his 5 favourite courses from the tour, as well as some of his favourite funny moments. In 2018, the boys will be going back to Andalucia, and you have the power to tell them where to film!

    Rory, I got to say, what a spectacular region to play golf! I will definitely be keeping Andalucia high on the list for my next overseas holiday. Having watched most of, if not all, the Muppet tours, I am still surprised by Mark's course conduct. While I think most of "it" is in jest, there's something there that sets me off. I think that you, above all, have taken the brunt of the "stick" and are the better man for it. I do think you're correct, though, when you were talking about wrist angles. After you mentioned it in this video, I went back and looked at some of your earlier swings. Not that I'm a great coach but it appears that when you make a series of good/great strikes, your wrist set at the top, coupled with a slower transition, is less cocked (has less angle). It's closer to the "wooden man" swing which I personally have found to produce greater accuracy. Thanks again, for your hard work and your great attitude!

      No probs Glenn glad you're enjoying the video bruh. To be fair I give Mark more ammo than the others! ;-) Glad to hear you're thinking of Andalucia...it really does tick all of the boxes for golf. Drop me a line at raymondo@yourgolftravel.com if you ever want to discuss some holiday options.
      Thanks for watching!

    Great comment Glenn. I have to agree. Rory has really begun to produce some very useful videos which are more balanced in content that Mr. Chief Muppet, who, on occasion, really winds me up. I've been to Portugal with YGT and I must say it was memorable. Andalucia is certainly on my golf bucket list now. Rory, keep them coming. Doing a really good job!

      You'll have a cracking time Matt it's a quality resort.
      Make sure you go to the Venta el Jinete restaurant if you like a bit of steak...just outside the resort gates...great little place! Can I ask how you decided to book La Cala...did you see it on the original Greatest18 tour?
      Cheers,
      Rory

      We shall give that place a try then! Love a steak! We booked on around December I think after loads of research into places around that region. So when your videos came out we were glad to see it featured. I think the America course is closed though while we are there :( Still looking for one more course off sight for a day trip close by if you have any recommendations??

    get down to Santana on the Mijas Costa...it´s a gem...Cabel Robinson course in an old avocado grove.....a good course you can walk as there aren´t many on the costa you can.Have Fun.When you´ve finished ,turn left leaving Santana and drive up to Alhaurin el Grande and go to Bar Sardina....magic typical andalucian food in a nice typical andalucian village.God I wish I was going with you......!!!.....come to Madrid and we´ll get out....fantastic courses here and around also...maybe plan a tour

    • @yourgolftravel
      @yourgolftravel  6 років тому

      Madrid sounds fun! Which courses would you recommend out that way Richard?

    • @richardsutton3247
      @richardsutton3247 6 років тому

      Club de Campo,Negro course would be a great start,almost within the city,then you have to travel to the outskirts.Not far to the west you have Lomas Bosque,a Gary Player course,very technical with a very dificult par 5 to start off.Moving to the north,some 10 mins out of the city is probably where you have the best selection of top quality courses,2 Jack Nicklaus signature courses at The Moraleja courses 2 and 3 where you will find the best greens ever,typicaly running at 11 or 12,just over road is El Race and next door is Club de Golf Real Sociedad Hípica Española Club de Campo(RSHECC)where the north route is the championship course,very select and always to highest standard.
      A short excursion to El Escorial you have La Herreria,a tree lined complicated course with fantastic views of the famous monastery which is right next door,well worth the 45 mins by car.
      15 mins from the airport is Los Retamares which is my home course,an Olazábal design which has a bit of everything and is always very well maintained all year round.
      There are many more but you can´t go wrong with the ones I´ve mentioned,some would mention The Santander couse,which is a Rees Jones design but hasn´t been of best in the last few years and the 2 routes at Puerta de Hierro,which is one of the oldest and most select courses in Spain,very dificult to get a reasonable green fee.
      All are very walkable courses,even the ones not mentioned,not something you will find easily on the coasts,especialy in the south.

    For the 11th year running off to La Cala this week for 7 rounds of golf on the Europe an Asia courses (Americas closed for renovation). Will be dining at El Jinete as mentioned by Rory. Good food and great location near to the resort.

    Loved the courses we played in Spain. Torrequebrada was a fantastic course. A bit to hard for the higher handicappers in our group, but I must admit one if not the best course I've played on the Costa del Dol in over the 12 years travelling to that region. Already organising the next trip to Mar Menor next year with Matt at YGT. Love all your videos. Cheers Rory.

    Couldn't agree more on the par 3 stuff

    • @yourgolftravel
      @yourgolftravel  6 років тому

      It baffles me to be honest...as Lockey says in the video, par 3s don't have to be 200 yards+. That hole at Torrequebrada was a stunner and, as you can see from the scores, certainly not a pushover!
      Thanks for watching bruh...

    I enjoyed the greatest 18 holes. when you you came to Almeria you should have played Aguilon the best golf course in the region a good test of your skills. I understand why not because its not a golf resort yet. enjoying your channel Rory, look forward to the next video.

    Useful video featuring a good range of courses. Just come back from Andalucia, and played Santana (agree with the other comments here - excellent) and Calanova (very hilly, but in great condition). Also ate at La Jinete near La Cala, and can also recommend the food there. Great area for a golf holiday.

    Another top notch vid Rory. A couple of observations: The monument in the background at the start of the vid looks like a gigantic mutant schlong. You took off outta the shot like Usain Bolt. I thought maybe nature was calling. Then enter the office shot with a big sigh (of relief?) I had to laugh. Thoroughly enjoy your vids and commentary. cheers

    This video reminds me of the time that I enjoyed golf games in La Cala Golf Resort. I thought American course was better than other courses in La Cala. Players in buggy car can use golf course navigation system in American course, and other course were not available.
