I really enjoy your channel, Kristin. Your videos are so relaxing and very meditative. You've got me wanting to return to quilting after a 10-year absence. This time, I'll be doing everything by hand (hand piecing, hand quilting) because I want the experience of doing something that's no mechanical. Hand piecing sounds so therapeutic to me right now. Thank you for your excellent channel.
I just found your channel and love it. Your voice is so relaxing. I love to hand piece because it is so relaxing. I didn't know to backstitch every five stitches . I learned something new. Thank you!!!!
I agree, but I do yoyo quilts and have been making them for 40 years or so. I’m interested in making my first traditional quilt and want to do it by hand piecing. It’s going to be fun!
Great video! Any suggestions about how to hand piece when improv quilting or cutting already stitched pieces into smaller pieces? I notice that you back stitch every 5 running stitches or so. I wonder if a back stitch us enough to hold cut stitching into place.

so for a beginner,I can cut shapes out and hand sew together to make blocks?? what thread and needles please?? I am obsessing with getting started.64 years of age and NOW the fear leaves me?? and made me anxious to start in case the powers that be decide I have to go to God!
Have you ever heard of Inklingo.com? You print your design on fabric, cut and the seam line is all ready to stitch. No more drawing seam lines. Everything matches perfectly.
@@kristinesser You will love it! Linda Franz is the owner and creator of Inklingo. She also has a You Tube channel, just type in Inklingo in the search bar. She will tell you all about it. It is the only way to hand piece. I love it myself. Let me know what you think. You can even download some free shapes to try to see how you will like it at no cost to you. 🙂
Your hand piecing videos are a breath of fresh air! Sensible, relaxing, and correct. Thank you so much.
