@ethereal flower because if you dont need to get married for citizenship/military reasons there is no reason to rush it. ofc do what you want, marry 10 days or 10 years into knowing eachother every relationship moves at a different pace, i just dont see why being long distance equates to needing to get married. you can live together regardless.
I got married super young too! I was 20 and my husband 24. We’re now 6 years into marriage and it keeps getting better every year! One thing I learned and I strongly believe really everything in marriage comes down to is to get rid of your own ego and let go of pride (especially in arguments). It’s a hard thing to do, but it’s a choice you get to make every single day. Loving and serving each other is the most beautiful thing about marriage!

I don’t think there’s really such thing as “too young”. If the couple is aligned on what matters most, betters one another, and is financially stable, then I think they have the green light.😊
Science and social research shows otherwise. They were too young. They didn’t get a chance to explore themselves as independent adults at all. I’m glad they’re happy, but this is absolutely not ideal. Your brain only stops developing at 25. There is absolutely zero need to jump into marriage before then. Zero. You can date, have fun, etc. I know you won’t believe me and that’s okay, but I’m commenting this in case it helps anyone else. All the best.

As someone who did long distance for 1 week short of 6 years, and is about to go back into long distance for a little while (with the same person), I completely understand getting engaged/ married earlier in a relationship, especially if you know you want to spend the rest of your life with that person. Now, I am in a weird season of moving houses again (I had only moved out with my partner 2 months ago, and we are both 22/23), and feel bittersweet about the whole thing. It'll be the first time seeing any of my family again in that time, but I will also be moving away from my person once again, and probably won't see him for 4 or 5 months. So, as a long time subscriber, I have to say following Jess and Gabe's journey has defintely helped me a lot in some cases with my own relationship and being patient with God's path for us. I am very grateful that you both share what you do on an accessable platform to people like me who have similar circumstances, and I just wanted to say thank you for that.

This is honestly my favorite couple I’ve ever seen on UA-cam or any social media platform ever! I know every UA-camr has those all comments that are like “you’re my favorite” or “relationship goals” but I’ve been watching them since they were long-distance before they got married and they truly are my absolute favorite couple ever!!! I have followed you guys for a long time, and you two set an amazing example even if UA-cam is only a portion of your lives. This video came at the perfect time, I'm 19 turning 20 and getting engaged, to my boyfriend, Ryan who is 20. We're getting married next year we'll be 21. We're a Christian couple who really believe this is God's plan for us however we are facing some criticism on how young we are. This video is exactly what I needed to see. There are some people in our lives are truly supportive which I am grateful for. We have been dating for 2 years now, Ryan lived in Australia and we're going there after we get married. With our relationship I relate a lot to you two, thank you for the example you set. I will make sure to appreciate our time engaged and be intentional with our relationship. I am Japanese and at the time I was studying English in Canada and found you guys, it was hard to understand with my English level but I posed a lot of times and use dictionary and tried to understand what you guys talking about. If I be honest, I was not here really since the beginning, but the fact that when I found your channel, after that I watched ALL the videos from beginning uptil now, so it feels as if I was here since the very first video dkskd
As someone who did long distance for 1 week short of 6 years, and is about to go back into long distance for a little while (with the same person), I completely understand getting engaged/ married earlier in a relationship, especially if you know you want to spend the rest of your life with that person.
Now, I am in a weird season of moving houses again (I had only moved out with my partner 2 months ago, and we are both 22/23), and feel bittersweet about the whole thing. It'll be the first time seeing any of my family again in that time, but I will also be moving away from my person once again, and probably won't see him for 4 or 5 months.
So, as a long time subscriber, I have to say following Jess and Gabe's journey has defintely helped me a lot in some cases with my own relationship and being patient with God's path for us. I am very grateful that you both share what you do on an accessable platform to people like me who have similar circumstances, and I just wanted to say thank you for that.

I watched Gabe on vine for two years I'm pretty sure (and literally told my friends at school to follow him), saw he made a youtube channel and followed it, saw the first vlog on your guy's channel the day that it came out and subscribed to the vlog channel, and I have been following ever since. Literally 7 years of following Gabe and 5 years of following Jess (cause you know I clicked subscribe on Jess's channel after the first vlog)!! So crazy how quick time flies!!
