- An uneducated exploration into timing up the Jaguar 6.0 V12. Lots of trial and error, lots of mistakes, hopefully all rectified throughout the process. Jackshaft positioning, camshaft timings, chain tensionings, it's all in this episode.

Excellent instructional video, I'm definitely going to use this as a reference when I build my own! *Completely ignoring the message in the top left corner*
On a more serious note, It's fun to see the project coming along :)
😂😂😂
Great use of the wood chisel on the cam tabs. A Man after my own heart 😂
I did wipe any sawdust off it at least 😊
@@jaguarxjsocd although I would have used it the other way round, and rode the shoulder on the block hahaha
Great content.. fantastic video, keep posting, you’re helping a lot with my own project! Rob Australia.
Thanks hope your project is going good!
On a serious note, that’s going to look fantastic in the engine bay. Just bought mine in December and deciding if I keep or sell. I came out of a Jensen Interceptor and I thought being newer obsolescence wouldn’t be an issue, I can’t even get tyres for the XJS!
Mission is amazing looking engine, but also working perfectly! The first aim is easy, second part is a lot more terrifying 😂
@@jaguarxjsocd I did the exact same thing on my interceptor, I have never nut and bolted and engine before however looking at the v12 it’s on a different level of complexity and nuances. Your doing great and I have my fingers crossed for you 😉
An intersting vlog, how did you seal the cam carriers to the heads?
Thanks, it's become rather a longer project than I intended but I'm learning a lot along the way! (And making plenty of mistakes along the way too!). So I sealed the cam housings to the heads in a previous video.. I used the same Hylomar Blue as in this video. Apparently some people say that's bad.. there's better products available, I haven't the experience to know this so used.. what i know. We'll just have to see what happens ha
Fyi bolts are not measured by the size of the socket that fits it. 😊
My garage. My rules. Everything is measured HOW I WANT OK 😂
