ESPN’s Seth Walder on the Saints offseason moves:
“Their salary cap situation is bad. According to Roster Management, the Saints have $15 million in cap space despite Derek Carr, Marshon Lattimore, Cameron Jordan, Taysom Hill, Ryan Ramczyk, Demario Davis, Erik McCoy, Tyrann Mathieu and Carl Granderson all having a base salary under $1.5 million to keep their 2024 cap hits low.
Which is exactly why the team is $77.6 million over the salary cap in 2025 currently -- over $50 million more than any other team. A team could (maybe) justify this process if it was in a championship window, but that is not the Saints!”

If you want to cover sports, news or entertainment in any fashion, go for it! Do your research & make sure you put out a good product. Did Seth Walder know the NFL salary cap increases every year? With how the contracts of veterans & Saints cap space is set up, they have to continue kicking the can. The Saints would be paying these guys either way, so why would you pay them to play for another team? It’s not like the Saints are the best front office in the world, but doing minimal research can prevent bad takes like ESPN’s. Saints can/need to be smarter financially, but this is the situation they created.

When teams begin to start anew, do you know what position the team turns to 1st, go younger & cheaper? RB position..
RB'S are a dime for a dozen, literally. Yes, Kamara is a special talent. But the Saints aren't the 9'ers. Kamara, doesn't mean to them, what CMC means to 9'ers. 9'ers are playing for championships, Saints don't know who they are.
There's no reason for Saints to over spend on Kamara, when at best he may have 2-3 above avg yrs left in NFL.
Anyway the decision will be made after this season. Saints fans should start getting use to no Kamara, becuz that will happen sooner, than later.
Trace you are misinterpreting the word mediocrity. It means in the middle basically. Which the Saints have picked between 11-15 in a lot of recent drafts so it’s definitely a fair and accurate assessment. The teams you have mentioned are addicted to losing not mediocrity. Oh and failing to trade veterans is also very accurate. So I don’t see what you’re disagreeing with here. Yes the cap raises but the projected cap for next season we are almost $80 MILLION over the PROJECTED CAP. There have been several platforms saying this. He didn’t suggest trading any of those specific players. He said they are all at minimum pay. You aren’t doing a very good job on this video my friend. You are misunderstanding what they are saying lmfao.

Well, to be fair I can’t give the Saints a grade on offseason moves until season starts, cause they may trade or sign more players before the start of the season. So far I would give them a B, on CAP management Micky is going to continue to kick the can down the road, but one day we will have to deal with this and quit praying for the CAP to increase every year, and that will probably happen when Micky leaves.

Still upset about the DC4 signing. We could have given Lamar for 1 year what we gave Carr for 4 years and figured out Lamar in the offseason.
Lamar would have stunk it up just as bad as anyone last season behind that line and with the offensive injuries. Why spend twice as much on a QB to essentially still have a throwaway season?

Dude had the best defense in the league, best running attack, top 5 Oline, and still couldn't get past the Chiefs.
