A few years ago, influencer beauty brands ruled the makeup industry. I mean, it felt like there wasn't a week without some internet star launching their own makeup line and cashing in big time. But guess what, the tides have turned, and these internet-famous celebs are literally struggling to sell their products and what’s even worse, even big-shot beauty companies are crashing faster than they grew.

I worked at tj max and one girl returned a makeup pallet and it looked destroyed but my manager said I had to put it back on shelves. Yes I can confirm discount stores put used makeup/skincare back in shelves

I bought a large bottle of shampoo and the pump was unopened it was still in the close position, so I thought it was fine. I get home, shower that night ready to try the new shampoo and I pump it and bacon grease comes out. I unscrew the top and pour out the bottle and the top was shampoo and under was used bacon grease. So disgusting. Someone bought it, and took 90% of the product. Then filled it up with grease, then topped it 10% shampoo so if anyone opens it and smells it, they will get the shampoo scent. I am NEVER buying shampoo there again unless it’s a clear bottle and I can see all of it. People are f#€king disgusting!!!🤢 🤮

As someone who used to work as a manager at TJX - if anyone had EVER returned makeup, I’d throw it out regardless if it seemed opened. It’s extremely risky reselling used makeup and I’d rather throw it out then someone buy used makeup.

Also referring to Shane's video, I worked at ulta and it was specifically my job to destroy returned makeup/products. My store was very serious about any returned products

Ohmygosh. I bought eye pencils from Charlotte Tillsbury online and they sent me TWO used products that were completely empty. Then I had to send them picture proof as if they don’t know they are re-shelving their products. Smh. And this is obviously NOT a discount store.

Just wanna say, I’ve never heard of a store that lets you return opened makeup.
Here in Western Australia, you literally can not return the makeup if it’s been opened. Even if you didn’t even use it. Also some stores won’t even have a return option on their beauty and skincare products.
It’s crazy to hear that some parts (or maybe the whole) of America allows customers to return opened beauty products! That’s insane

I think it’s great you can return a product you aren’t satisfied with. If done ethically it would show company’s their return rate & better their products. But because of greed they instead of wasting the product they resell it to customers which is so gross.
Everything happens for a reason. Maybe you don't see the reason right now, but when it is finally revealed..it will blow you away.

@@Anyango31 So about a month ago Anna uploaded a video about people faking mental health, one of those people she blindly called out is Crazy Cae, who openly talks about how she's dealt with mental health since she was very young. Cae made a video explaining what happened and even mentions its taken her a couple times to make the video cause she would cry hysterically. Now I understand people make up mental health for a ton of reasons, but Cae just isn't that type of person and is a very honest girl. I also deal with these problems so I can confidently say I can tell when someone is lying about it or not, and Cae just isn't. It seems Anna just doesn't care about what she does or who she hurts, she only cares about her clout and fame. I hate that I share a name with someone like this it irks me to the core..

My mum has worked in a discount makeup store and she said they just the used products back on the shelf for other ppl to use 💀
I am a pharmacist student. While u can technically not test ur product on animals, you need to find another way to make sure it's safe to use, and well, these 'methods' aren't really as credibile as animal testing. When we make drugs, we have stages:
1) in sillico, basically a computer system that narrows down compounds that MAY work for you. Saves time, money and resources.
2) in vitro, u test it on cells basically but it doesn't mimic a full functioning body.
3) in vivo, animal testing. No drug is allowed to go through clinical trials without being tested on animals first. And when u are done with ur experiment, u basically kill it.
4) clinical trials.
So while you technically can NOT test on animals, doesn't mean it's better for you.
Cosmetic regulations are looser than drug regulations which is what makes the cosmetic industry in a way more fucked up than the drug industry. The FDA can have drugs on choke hold, but not cosmetics. Recalls with drugs are much easier than cosmetics.

I do shop at discount stores sometimes cause they have cute or good things but when it comes to makeup, I open pallets IN the store to see if it’s been messed with, I also look at packaging and look at it closely.
I’m a BIG NO NO on peripheral using my makeup especially lipstick and lip gloss and hearing that they sell the return cosmetic to discount store is CRAZZZYYYY gosh yuck!!
I never got the influencer craze- it is the new infomercial. The worst thing I have ever seen in a store is Kylie Cosmetics- that stuff is garbage. I only use mainstream high-end and drugstore brands anyway. At least I can try them in stores and give them back. There are only a few reviewers I watch because they cover established brands. One is Fleurdeforce. All of the things she gives good reviews are legit.

I worked at winners, Marshall’s and Homesense in Canada and people opened the make up products in the store all the time - but I’m certain make up returns in some cases were put back on the sales floor. If it was really bad they would be written off and tossed in the garbage but I saw used and damaged things in the store on a daily … what’s crazier is people would ask if they could get a discount because it’s used 🤮 why would you want that
When I worked in a makeup store in Glasgow if it was open or had ben touch we get to throw it out but if u want to take it home u could but on your own risk

In Germany the brands have a sticker attached to the logo, so when you open it you can’t bring it back and if they would take it back, which they won’t you can still see the broken sticker

I never buy makeup from discount stores every time I look at them, they have broken/ripped packages, broken makeup etc. If the seal is broken don't buy it. Simple.
No return policy would solve this. You buy something and you opened it, no return allowed.

I can confirm this happened I worked at Walmart for about 2 years and a couple times I saw my co-worker and this lady returned an eyeshadow palette and I looked at it it looked really used and my co-worker she put it back in the package and put it on the shelf and I was like what are you doing you can’t do this and she told me that she has been doing that for 3 years!!!
Yup I can confirm that I saw used products too. But since I’m broke I’d just check for a brand new one and get it 🙃
sometimes i'll buy makeup from Tj max like setting powder and pallets. I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYSSSS open and check the product before I buy them and never buy products that were used or messed up.
