    Here are some Resources about the “Don’t Say Gay” Bill that Disney is supporting. As always I also encourage you to do your own research into the subject as news sources are never as unbiased as we hope.

    Hiding information away from children is never the answer. Sexuality and Gender are not taboo subjects. Proponents of the bill claim that it stops children from being groomed, however, despite the name there is nothing sexual about sexual orientation. Learning about Orientation and gender does not "make a child gay or trans" it simply informs them of the different ways they can express themselves and makes LGBT children and parents safer and more accepted. The bill would likely not stop the discussion of heterosexual couples, there is no difference between learning of the existence of Hetero and Homosexual couples. No one's identities or existence deserve to be questioned. Ever. If this bill gets passed it will be a major setback for LGBT+ Rights.

      The name of the bill isn't actually the "don't say gay" bill, it's a nickname given to it by those who oppose it. It's officially named the Parental Rights in Education bill.

    I read an article written by a grown man saying that this movie was "exhausting".

    It was a nice film, just a fun thing to watch. I didn’t treat it like some Oscar film and I enjoyed it. It had a strong moral message which wasn’t too forced and the characters actually felt like real 2000s kids, not some cringey riverdale sort of characters.

    I live in Toronto, this movie literally represented everything about the city/Canada. The sky dome (which I still call it) has been renamed to the “Rogers Centre” hence the construction 🚧 site after it was destroyed…that’s when the name change I believe was starting to take place. I remember driving by and seeing the construction. so the 2002 setting is very accurate! Well done movie! And we’ll done review!

    I personally would have never thought that Disney was gonna go on the rout of speaking on generational trauma in immigrant poc homes but as a first gen immigrant poc I'm here for it. Ima just need them to pause for a bit tho bc I'm literally sobbing I wasn't given enough time to heal from encanto gimme a second. This movie HURT I tell you it HURT. There was no reason for this movie to just call out the toxic tendency's of me and my mothers relationship. This right here at 8:28 I related too much to that. I remember lookin myself in the mirror and pushing down my self expression bc my mothers approval was more important. This movie was amazing so damn amazing.

    I love Turning Red because it’s both funny and heartwarming. I love that the movie has good and mature themes such as coming of age, friendship, acceptance, puberty and generational trauma. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that some people are spreading hate against this movie. Religious fundamentalists who spreading hate against it always make me mad because they just want to take us back to the 1700s or crap like that. I’m not against all religious people just only religious fundamentalists. Turning Red deserves love and respect just like the other Pixar movies such as Toy Story, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc, Soul and Luca.

  • @M.W.K6996

    I have to admit that I really enjoyed the movie. It was weird and really out there, and that's what I liked about it. I really enjoy when animated projects that don't shy away from family problems, teenage drama or social issues. The characters, animation and voice acting were all done very well. They did a good job of showing how scary changing and growing up can be, but it happens for a reason.
    But like any other Disney movie, the problem is mostly resolved to quickly. Forgiving and moving on is important, but its not easy (like they make it seem in their movies). Ming did the exact same thing to Mei that her mother did to her - and she didn't see that? If nothing is ever going to be good enough, you shouldn't push a child to be perfect. Healing can happen...but it takes time.
    (Ming shouldn't need to apologize. She may have given her mother that scar, but it was Wu's controlling and overbearing nature that caused such an act.)
    People may call the portrayal of Chinese culture in this movie racist or stereotypical; but it isn't if its all fact. Most families of Asian cultures are very controlling and pass that toxic quirk to their children. Parents shouldn't push their desires onto their children, because than the children never get to live their own lives. If your kids rebel, its most likely because you're refusing to listen to them.
    If there's a sequel, I seriously hope that Disney doesn't tone down the problems and issues of growing up.

    So weird then that the new proud family reboot just released an episode that featured a gay couple sharing an on screen kiss, with the father learning a lesson to be more accepting of the gay community. What's with the double standard? Their shows can talk about these things (as the proud family is not the only example of this on disney channel) but their movies can't?

    • @JohnSmith0137
      @JohnSmith0137 2 роки тому

      Because movies are something which you really need to be profiting off of cause of the money spent on them. There’s generally less effort and budget put into a show so they can earn money on domestic sales alone whereas they have to earn money from places like China in order to have a good amount of profit for the movie. It’s sad that certain countries won’t allow this stuff and it all has to come down to money, that’s the world we live in

Sadly i haven't talk to my friends since graduation because of how controlling my friend mom was growing up and how she grow more distant from me and her other friends. Protect kids by teaching them ahead of time so they know if they're in danger from a groomer or pedo. You don't have to be explicit, kids are smart enough to get the gist from simple storytelling. Kids can learn about sex if you know how to teach them appropriately.

    • @jeremyassumptio8358
      @jeremyassumptio8358 2 роки тому +3

      Why not? People really forget humans are also animals and have instincts. Even if you teach or not about sex to your kids, they will experiment this kind of feelings and emotions one day. It's better to explain that to them so they'll have a knowledge about it or they will just let it out rawly.
