The Aussie Umbrella tree is a declared weed species where i live. It's unusual for me to see one getting so much attention! Thanks for sharing what you do.
Your little robin is channeling his inner Magpie; trying to Aussie up the spring experience for you! A very apt event for the Aussie in Canada working on a tropical Australian tree.
"Who says Bonsai aren't practical." 😂😂😂 I need a cherry tree too! Lol Also, thanx for reminding me that I need to spray my tomatoes. Last year they had aphids, this year, it's spider mites. Le sigh.
Funny your robbin I sos aggressive! We got a robbin that made a nest in our ladder 2 weeks ago. The poor thing Flys away every time my family walks past. And my house is high traffic! But she works hard for her babies and it's nice to have robbins around!
I’m following your lead with my tropicals this spring. Defoliating and pruning my vigorous trees. Can I also repot later this summer? Thanks, keep growing
I really like the look of the Dragon Tree reminding me of a carnival Chinese Dragon but it also reminds me of a 'Ginger root' so may I please call it a 'Ginger Chinese Dragon'? Lovely tree though. 👍👍
Nigel, what a glutton you are! Eating one third of your cherry production in one sitting! You should have put the rest in the fridge for another day after one bite! 🤣🤣🤣
aaww i used to have a pair of collared dove that the will make there nests on my trees around my yard this year tho i chase them away kitty is a good hunter even if he is white
I cut the bottom petioles off my schefflera actinophylla but they haven't shown any sign of growing back (I don't want them to). Is that because of low light maybe? I'm worried if I prune back petioles that I would like to grow back the whole tree will die

I've seen robin chicks fledge in my garden. Super cool. I've seen the mother ocassionally but mostly seen the male. I suppose he's easier to spot 🐦
Here 👏 I 👏 go 👏
Looks like an arch in the middle. A path inside the arch with people walking through the dragon might be a thought.
Oooooooooo. You're right!
Reminds me of Arches National Park! Gorgeous place!
Nice!!

Yes, but wait until the new leaves have done their job and returned lots of energy back to the tree, I'd wait until late summer to repot!!
@@TheBonsaiZone thanks Nigel

Make Bonsai Cherry marmalade and perhaps cook a compote for the winter, so you will be able to make a cherry pie for Christmas.
Hahaha! Awesome! Great video! I wonder if that's a bird you raised in the past? Fruits of your labours best enjoyed, uh, fresh!!
Good 👍 siR❤
👍👌👌
Yippee I saw your wife twice.
Cheers to the drink of tea 😂
What’s the purpose of complete defoliation Nigel. ?

So if a schefflera is kept as an indoor plant in a window with additional lighting do you think there is a need to do a defoliation?
No, it should be fine, defoliation is a technique more for show trees or to help prune the structure on complicated trees!
