    ... awesomeness ... cool as a cucumber in the snow .. you impressed both guys in the passenger seat with your starting on a grade without slippage .... the logger you drove is the similar to the one I drive, it's an KW with three drive axels and the wagon has four axels. One thing different that we do over here is load the trailer onto the truck to get back into the bush. One gets pretty quick with chains when having to accessorize with jewelry (chains) every trip into the bush, usually two a day. Sometimes it is just to get out of the bush loaded, to help slow on the downhill, bush roads are generally not straight or flat ... had a good chuckle with your shenanigans with the snowplow .... seems like you had a good time ... as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .... have fun be safe, save our oceans ....

    Hi jemma I was very impressed by your driving in the snow . I live in scotland and I did driving from scotland right up to odds in Norway and over the hadadavinger mountains . I did this for ten years so I have personal knowledge of truck driving in Northern Europe . You were calm and listen to Norway driver s you were a real credit and it shows of your driving skills . It is totally different driving experience in real deep snow an ice brought back really good memories for me. Love your videos

    The steering wheel is on right side !! It’s you brits who messed things up !
    Truckers need yearly medicals to keep their license . If you snore ,they put you on a pap machine .
    Are all trucks automatic ? My son’s Peterbilt was a gear jammer with 18 gears , great to run the truck
    My wife and I were on a B C ferry and met a couple team drivers out of Montana , hauling fruit and veg to Vancouver Island from California . He owned the truck and she owned the reefer . Their broker lived in Lost wages , Las Vegas , and they drove everywhere never having a home . This woman was his third wife , the others never drove truck , he married her for love and her driving skills . They showed us their rig with its big sleeper , with queen size bed , excercise machine , dog ,and full bathroom ! No wonder they didn’t own a homecoming
    So you did not have to put chains on. Great fun to do !

      Most modern European trucks are automatic now but most manual gearboxes have been synchronized since the 1950's. When we all have learned to drive manual cars, a manual truck isn't more difficult to drive, except for the size. You need to press the clutch every time you shift gears but clutches on big trucks are powered by pressured air so no big muscles are needed. "Floating" gears without using clutch is difficult with a synchro gear box and nothing I would recommend.
      It's interesting that it's the exact opposite in America - cars are automatic and trucks are still mostly manual. It's funny to see when "automatic" Americans learn how to use a clutch and shift gears.
      The Finnish brand "Sisu" has indeed sold many trucks with Fuller unsynchronized gear boxes. And you can still buy them. In the Army the training truck we used was one of them. Not very difficult to drive, just a little grinding at the beginning, but I think it happens to everyone.
      Greetings from Finland!

    I'm 100% sure this was an awesome event and you loved every minute of it. The first logger truck looks pretty serious and the 770hp could move the trailers easily even in the snow. The second Super Scania is amazing too and it's great you could compare it to your own S500. And of course the snow plow was really fun, especially when you were beside the road and the plow covered you and your mates with a lot of white stuff. The hotel room is indeed pretty spacious and elegant and the view from the balcony was magnificent. Excellent video again Jemma, these vlogs are fantastic and I enjoy them very much. Thank you for the Saturday evening entertainment.

    Jemma.....do you own the truck you're driving or is it a company owned vehicle? Looking at the way you've personalized it I'd guess you're the owner and you're contracted to the company you haul for. I'm a one truck operator in the USA and it's very interesting to see how your operations compare to how we do things here in the States. Where did the term "lorries" come from? Also, what your refer to as "tipping" we call "dumping". Also, most grain is hauled on hopper bottom trailers with gravity unloading over open pits. Also, most feed is augered into bins at the farms, not blown in like you do it. You'd also be hard pressed to find 1% of the trucks being cabovers here. They are almost non existent except for antique shows. Much respect for you and your drivers to be able to navigate the narrow roads and farm yards you encounter. A 300" WB KW or Pete wouldn't work at all in many of the places you go. Also, you have many of the same concerns we do such as safe places to park, decent shower facilities, and food options. Do you have government weigh scale locations for weight enforcement and hours of service compliance? Just a few of the many questions I'd like to ask you over a cup of tea!

    • @janettewarren3062
      @janettewarren3062 9 місяців тому

      Hi, thank you for your comment. They are governed to how many hours they work via a tacko, which they need to put into the lorry before they can drive. They are regulated with their breaks, all recorded on the tacko. Take care

    So are all trucks now automatic.
    I never knew they was.
    My recovery truck is a manual bloody kills me every day 🤣🤣
    So question is if you had to drive a left hand drive manual would be have so much fun.
    Because when I went to Holland years ago and hired a van that was a whole new experience.
    Nearly killed loads of people on bikes 🤣🤣🙄🙈🙈

    • @jemmawarren27
      @jemmawarren27  Рік тому

      Yes most are in fact if you don’t already have a manual on order with scania you won’t be able to order one. They are stopping the production of manual trucks as of now. the carnival cart has the gear stick on the right and I seem to get on with that ok and never forget

    • @jonbell2305
      @jonbell2305 Рік тому

      @@jemmawarren27 On the right what even the right hand drive trucks.
      How weird.
      But saying that I bet its all done by fly by wire.
      The same as your accelerator pedal most vehicles now don't have a accelerator cable there like vinyl records extinct 🤣🤣
      See I'd have thought them heavy loads them units pull expecially on a steep hill start would burn them gearboxes out.
      But guess they've been but through there paces.
      Great channel by the way.
      And great driving skills not many can reverse a vehicle like that.
      I know a rally driver can drive 100mph in woods and forests in a rally but can't bloody reverse his rally car on a trailer.
      Mad hey.

    In the UK, winter diesel is sold from November to March. It becomes the diesel we all use and there is no particular signage, it is good down to -15℃.
    My guess is that less than 5% of diesel car drivers in the UK know anything about it.
