Welcome to my world Matti, hope your stay is a short temporary one! (Meaning you recover quickly and aren't in pain) I never had "great health" but I miss the days of walking, let alone running. I used to work on the farm all day, now some days I can hardly sit up in the wheelchair and it SEVERELY hinders my creativity. But I'm sincerely grateful because others can't do what I can!
Best thing you can do is stretch, slowly, and keep moving easy. You don't want to get too stiff from favoring it, while balancing not overdoing stuff. And sit in a proper chair!

Matti! Here’s how you can cure your back. This worked for me wonders. So basically find a sturdy, relatively tall surface. Maybe the back of a pick up truck, maybe the island in your kitchen, maybe even a tall chair. Now, you’re gonna lay face down on it, and make sure that your top talk of your body is hanging downward. Your waist still on the platform. If you can stretch your arms down and let them hang with your torso, that’s even better! What this is gonna do is its going to stretch out your column and your disks will realign! Just stay there for about 1 minute and when you get up, you’ll feel the relief!

Wow Whatta 21 minute video on this topic. Believe it or not, just last week, I came up to this thought, on where should I invest more time and which social media is worthy! You gave the clear cut answer! TBH, after spending 6 years in instagram, just because they made me suggested user once and gave me 1000s of followers, that made me stick/waste time on that platform. After 6 years, realised that, all I am getting is crap, waste content and psychological disorders like FOMO, Jealous of others, always comparing, stress on making content!
I also liked this longer video, I put it on my bluetooth headphones, listened like podcast, while I swinging my baby in the morning 6:30AM.

I had that too for weeks.
It became so bad I had to turn off two monitors because I couldn’t move my head at all.
What helped in the end was a guy cracked my back in any possible way. Two days later it was gone.
But of course I’d recommend to go to a doctor first
    I didn’t.
But you know. I’m hardcore 😝

One of them has an average view duration of over 112 percent at one point in the video (I did something that people would have to rewatch). Iv really nailed down what works on my channel and since Iv done that UA-cam does not suggest me. So is UA-cam really good to be found in 2019? I don’t know. I've been watching your channel since I've started and it's been a huge inspiration to get me going. Just over a year to meet my requirements for monitization, that was just with 2 or so videos a week. If anyone is trying to grind, put in work! Very true what you said about which platforms will survive. To me, Instagram is really unpleasant because of all the obvious and less obvious ads. Maybe we'll see them dail that down a bit in the future.
I also agree that UA-cam hardly counts as a social network although it's kinda moving in that direction. It's also true that it has the best monetization and a very good discoverability, but let's not forget that from all the platforms you mentioned it's probably the one where the effort to generate content (video only!) is largest as well!

Those back pains are healed within half an hour in the gym with kinesitherapy. And never return if you practice it couple times a week for 30-60 minutes. Just find a good specialist. Hearing this youtube monotize praise sounds so ironic when had seen quite many youtubers get demonotized for some stupid reasons, struggle with wanting to do high quality videos. Like when they use more time on great video instead pumping content out fast. It hurts quite lot on their income. Had seen some great creators who don't get enough recognizition just cuz them might do videos which take time to make.
But I agree with Matti, UA-cam is best out of those which he compared in this video. Twitch even better if it was counted. Nice video once more, man. Keep up the good work

I think it definitely depends on what you're doing and who your audience is. This helps to stay focused and relevant to my subscribers...

Matti, to prevent of further hurting your back, do the proper body mechanics everytime you do things especially lifting up. Don't ever bend your back when you want to reach things. Bend your knees instead. Keep your back straight. Avoid over-reaching things too. If it's too far, go to the other side to make it nearer.. 😊

Completely agree with you on these selections..
With work - Facebook costs us money to get our videos,
Instagram is slow growth and full of like bots who contribute to no growth
Twitter is very selective and definitely for older generations
UA-cam has a steady growth and its helped that we embed our videos on the property portals we use.
We also use Vimeo, but that's simply for the clean embed system.

If you'd like to get a little inspiration for Twitch, because I also find it interesting as a producer, check out the non-gaming channels. Adobe has one for example. When they stream, it says they're playing "creative", which always makes me chuckle. Obviously there's Bob Ross on there as well. There are a lot of crafting and related channels as well. You can do live Q&A's and whatnot on there, which could be interesting for your audience.

  • @cameronjessup7446
    @cameronjessup7446 5 років тому

Twitch is an amazing platform especially for the gaming community. And it is expanding. There are sections for creativity, podcasts, and even a section called IRL. This is what you where saying with a stream where you chill and chat with the audience. And its possible to have it be portable. I've seen a few streams where they have a setup in a backpack, which they carry around and can essentially vlog in a live stream format.

Thank you Matti! You just made me publish my first You tube public video. I think I will have to explore this more. I kinda gotten to "hate" Facebook and all what it stands for - ie Instagram too! And what you say of them just scooping in on our work and not paying back kinda ticked me off! I loved when insta was a feed that followed the timeline. I hate writing captions. I hate making fake conversations on instagram, asking questions people kinda answers, but we never make a real conversation out of it. It has forced the social on photographers like me, who was in there just for the pictures! I kinda like Pinterest more and more . I actually don't care that much about instagram and try to do my thing there, and not let myself be forced into doing what suits the algorithm.

Personally I can't stand Facebook, but I do like the way you can get very organic growth and views within the platform when people share your content. Case in point, I recently bought a drone and did a test video, which ended up being shared a bunch on FB and viewed over 5k times last time I checked. I recently started my UA-cam account and that same video has been seen 15 times... I realize the video is not great compared to all the amazing content here, but I wonder what YT would be like if a degree of social media was added to allow easy sharing. aThanks for yet another informative video, Matti!

I'd agree with most of this from the perspective of content creators. UA-cam is definitely the best platform for video content creators (that's what it was intended for) but for other businesses (especially small/local businesses) Instagram can be a great way to connect with your audience and a Facebook page can be essential depending on your demographic. You need to know WHY you are creating content and WHO your target audience is and then create content in the format/location that is going to reach them.

    Hey Matti
    Hope you feel better again.
In Switzerland, there is a heat plaster to buy that helps well with back pain. Hope you are better soon, the back pain is not nice.
Personally, I do not like Facebook anymore. That's why I'm mostly on Instagram and UA-cam. But i need to make a few videos for You Tube, the until now I post only on Instagram.
I think Twitch could be much bigger in the future as they are also a great platform to build on ...
    Kind regards

Matti I did the same thing to my back last month building a kids Wendy house, stood up and it went. Get some heat pads and when you think your ready to exercise again leave it another week. Trust me!

If you did a live on twitch screen capturing your screen while editing a few photos or a video, people would be all over it. Myself included. I stream on twitch, and I can't yet make a living off it but I do see the potential there.

Dude! I threw my back out 2 weeks ago just reaching for my underwear getting out of the shower! Crazy! I do professional Steadicam/Camera work and that was crazy! Get well soon. Great videos!

I agree with you, it is expensive. My daughter a makeup artist and we had to pay and it still didn't bring a lot of people to the site

I chopped wood for a month straight. Finished up and a couple days later tweaked my back turning the shower handle. The diaper story probably means you were pushing hard for too long and then when your body is relaxing...boom.

Haha.. It's funny watching you, while I have the same pain. ;) I just got it today, 8 hours ago. In German, we call it "Hexenschuss", it means something like "witch-shot" .. I think the name nails it.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these platforms. We've got the same opinion about Instagram - the content on there is all the same! Our Facebook took off pretty quick when people started tagging each other in the comments of the video. We've got an audience, but then it's still hard to reach your own audience when it doesn't even get on their feed.. 😬 Still going all-in after 1 year on UA-cam though, and wishing to be found!

Thanks Matti. I really enjoyed this video. It's helping me decide where to start focusing my efforts as an aspiring creative. I like Instagram but I never really thought about how it has become one giant advertisement. I will continue using Instagram but I spend so much effort on it when I get very little back. UA-cam has always been my favourite platform as a consumer so maybe I should start a UA-cam channel 🧐

I hope Spotify doesn’t take over podcasting I like the fact it’s an open platform and no one controls it. Some podcasters are not doing it to monetise just for the love or fun of it. Yes I take the point that creators should benefit from there works if making money for platforms but not everyone is trying to earn a living from content creation.

While UA-cam requires the most work, it has the best potential for longterm ROI IMO. I personally feel other social media platforms feel much more fast food where UA-cam you can be much more personable
