      @@dangerdaveballThe issue with internal wifi cards and usb wifi modules for access point is, that Belabox policy is, that you won't get any support, if you start modifying the image via console / ssh.
      You literally are on your own then, if you have issues.
      These changes can also mess with the source routing and bonding.
      Hence it's advisable to use an external AP, like the 2 I've linked in the description of the video.

    I don't understand how you set up network bonding using the RTMP route from belabox. As far as I understood Belabox SRT-LA is used for link aggregation / bonding. If you use RTMP you would send the same data over multiple carriers but there is no point to it because there is no instance / proxy that aggregates the RTMP connections and choose the better one. Or am I missing something?

    • @EmeraldAudiovisual
      @EmeraldAudiovisual  Рік тому

      The RTMP route is only from your camera to the NGINX proxy on the Belabox, it gets converted to SRTLA from there and then bonded. The output to you on the other end of Belabox cloud is still SRT/h265 and yes, the connection is fully bonded between Belabox and the Belabox Cloud.

    • @EmeraldAudiovisual

      No. Belabox is only set up for one camera at a time. But you could in theory have one camera on a camlink and one via RTMP and the stop the SRTLA stream, switch pipeline and restart the stream. Or you could stop your RTMP stream, then start another RTMP stream from another camera. It's just not seemless nor quick.

    How is internet provided to the nano? Through hostpot, from the same phone? What cables or adapters would I need for it? I see that you supply the nano internet through the Rj45 connector, so you then need to use the Dongle to connect the Router or modem. If I connected a mobile WiFi router to the belabox encoder via ethernet, is it possible to lose the second wireless access port point and just connect my action cam to the single router wirelessly instead? In this case the wireless router acts as the Internet network gateway and the router for the action cam rpmt connection to belabox?

    • @EmeraldAudiovisual

      Sure. That's possible. You just have to be careful what routers you pick. The Netgear Nighthawk for example drops all wifi devices, when it looses it's mobile connection, so that is not a good option for this.

So if your camera can send RTMP/h264 to Belabox, then it can take that video feed instead of a video feed from a Camlink capture. And that is, what this video is about. The output from Belabox still is the same SRTLA/h265 feed, just with more freedom. The TP-Link router is used, because Belabox does not provide a wireless access point for your camera to connect to. Hi Marlow,
    I'm sorry for being a pain, I have a few questions.
    Am I right in understanding the TP link is being used like a mini hub here, it doesn't have capabilities to take a sim card correct? Is it just connected to your internet at home? could I config my set up at home using my router & directly plugging my orange Pi 5 + in to it, acquire my IP address & continue the set up as you have done here?
    Then once my Modem arrives simply just change the connectivity on my devices? Is it possible for my Orange Pi 5 + with belabox to change IP?
    Lastly, does the pipline matter if I intend to use OBS on my home computer to broadcast my media?
    I don't know where I'd be without you haha.

    • @EmeraldAudiovisual
      @EmeraldAudiovisual  5 місяців тому

      The TP-Link gives your camera wifi access to Belabox. It can also function as a source of internet, if you plug a USB 4G modem into it's USB port.
      You can plug your OP5+ into your home network for the purpose of setting everything up, but you still need the TP-Link (or GL.Inet) router for the wireless connection from your camera to your Belabox.
      And yes, the pipeline matters. You need to use RTMP pipelines and pick the one, that matches the fps rate, you've set in the RTMP settings of your camera.
      The video is a step to step guide, so make sure to watch it in full.

    awesome video!!! I have a question. Normally the dji cameras when connected using rtmp to twitch for example, the second it loses internet or the connection gets spotty the connection stops and a message pops up on the camera screen saying if you want to continue last stream. Now when you are streaming, you don't notice when the connection is spotty so you can go a while with no video. Does using a bela box fix this issue? Will it stay connected as long as you are connected to the belabox wifi router even if you lose network connection or you are in a spotty area?

    • @EmeraldAudiovisual
      @EmeraldAudiovisual  Рік тому +1

      Belabox uses SRTLA/h265 to the Belabox Cloud or a standalone relay and then SRT/h265. So you will need an OBS or Cloud OBS instance to receive the stream, before you send it to Twitch anyway.
      The way people get around not loosing their stream is exactly that: an intermediate OBS or Cloud OBS with either NOALBS or Loopys SRT switcher, which maintains the stream and displays a BRB reel, while you have no connection and then switches back to your camera, when it comes back live.

    • @juniqr
      @juniqr Рік тому

      @@EmeraldAudiovisual ok to clarify what I meant was on the dji camera, when its streaming video, the second it loses internet or it gets spotty, the camera loses its connection or its verry spotty in signal, the video stream ends and on the screen of the dji camera says "continue last livestream". Now when I tried it, it was using the camera connecting to a cloud server using a modem. So when I would get spotty signal, the camera feed will disconnect and get the message above which wouldn't auto connect back to rtmp but the stream would continue on a brb screen but wouldn't know the camera lost connection. I'm bad at explaining lol so my question is if using your method will work in the camera not lose connection to the rtmp server even under spotty connection?

    • @EmeraldAudiovisual
      @EmeraldAudiovisual  Рік тому +1

      @@juniqr That still has NOTHING to do with this solution.
      What you are describing is, that you RTMP stream your camera directly to a server, or Twitch or UA-cam across the internet.
      WIth this solution, your RTMP stream is from your camera to the wireless router to the Belabox encoder. Everything beyond that is handled by Belabox. If your internet disconnects, gets spotty or has any other problems, your camera doesn't know, that that is the case. It just continues to stream to Belabox. Belabox will re-establish the connection automatically as long as that stream is active.

    - use a externa mic directly through belabox to capture audio better

      That won't work, because Belabox does not offer the option to select a different audio device, when you stream to it via RTMP. DJI Action 2, Osmo Action 3 1080p 6000 Kbit, GoPro 8, 9, 10, 11 approx 4500 Kbit. Can be pushed to 8000 Kbit with a special app, but not reliable.
      A popular option is also streaming with an iPhone and Larix via RTMP to Belabox, as the iPhone can't do bonding.

    • @EmeraldAudiovisual
      @EmeraldAudiovisual  Рік тому +1

      @@kamileqone a couple misconceptions: Belabox does not transmit SRT. It transmits SRTLA, which is an extended version of SRT with bonding added.
      Belabox enables you to stream with multiple modems, load balanced, automatic failover, adaptive bitrate and h265, thus saving bandwidth at higher quality.
      So the idea is RTMP (even when using Larix) h264 to Belabox via Wifi, then transcoded to SRTLA/h265. From there it goes to Belabox Cloud, which bonds the connections on the other side into one stream again and sends it as SRT/h265 to your OBS or cloud OBS provider.
      The app to get up to 8000 Kbit/s bitrate out of a GoPro is called "Streamer for Heros" or "Streamer for GoPro" (I think it changed name at some point). When it works, it works great, but it can be unreliable to start the stream.
      As for your other question: yes, the DJI Action 2 can stream RTMP over Wifi without the power or dual-display module. The wifi in the Osmo Action 3 is much improved though. And between my DJI Action 2 cams, one has bad wifi the other one great, but I think that is because the one with bad wifi is a very very very early model. I bought both the dual-display and the power combo, when they were launched, so the camera, that came with the power base is 1-2 months newer.
      Additionally, if you get the Smallrig cage for the DJI Action 2 for the camera module only and the magnetic base with the charge port, then you can even charge it with the cube only.
      I do not recommend the Tilta nor the Ulanzi cage for the Action 2. They are both messy to fit.

      @@EmeraldAudiovisual I know the concept of Belabox and RTMP to SRT(LA) streaming over WiFi. That is really nice feature for me, I am trying to make a MTB bike combo for streaming. Using GoPro 8, 9 or 10 via wifi rmpt is low quality and not really reliable. Using via HDMI out of Media-mod it is quite big on helmet, heavy and buggy. Thank You for reply very detailed and great videos and inspirations. I think that 6 mbit/s for 1080p over WiFi H264 is minimum and then we can compress it with H265 and sent over SRTLA about 3,5-4 mbit/s and could be 'nice' quality

      That entirely depends on your setup. The encoder can run for days. It all depends on all the other things, like batteries, your bandwidth etc.

      If that's your attitude, then you don't understand networking. You also have to consider the limitation of some platforms, that won't work, when you start defining static IPs. DHCP has it's purposes and is actually required in some scenarios. I'm actually a network engineer, so I know, when DHCP is appropriate and when not.

      @@_River_Stone_ Not every router allows you to make a mac reservation, so that you have the same IP address every time. Especially the portable travel routers and MIFI units are bad for this. Some don't even let you change subnets.
      I also try to keep my videos as generic and universally usable for everyone and every type of kit without overloading them with the technical details. A lot of people, that dabble into IRL don't have much understanding of the technical or network side of things.
      Additionally on for example Android hotspot and Apple iOS Personal Hotspot, you can't even look the leases up.
      And some Android phones change their hotspot IP addressing every single time you enable it.
      My own setup actually uses a Mikrotik Routerboard hAP ac lite as access point for access of devices (access to Atem Mini, Belabox, Cosmostreamer, etc.), where everything has fixed DHCP leases and always is in the same place, but explaining that in a video to a non tech would just end in disaster. The original Atem Mini can't even handle DHCP and needs a fixed IP, that is in the DHCP range exclusion zone.

      @@_River_Stone_ The problem with the Netgear Nighthawk M1 is, that when it looses it's mobile data, it also drops all the wifi connection and then your camera goes offline.
      That's the reason, I'm using a seperate router/access point for the camera. I'm currently testing the Gl.inet Mango, to see if that is more reliable than the TP-Link Router, but no verdict yet.
