Tom is a pure genius when it comes to engines and cars. I have never seen such precision craftsmanship in a street build. Everything crafted on his engines are exceptional clean and especially mean. I have seen a lot over the years (+58) but the performance he obtains from his SBC's is beyond belief. If I ever win the lottery I will be knocking at his door to build my dream car, a 1100hp twin turbo SBC in a1972 Chevelle body. Everyone has to dream!!
Hey NRE.... I'm a convert from Australia have been following your channel and am constantly blown away by the quality and craftsmanship of all of your builds.... There is an emerging market for top end street/show/race cars down under... If you could ever imagine an Aussie base for your prepackaged motors that local enthusiasts could buy and install already tuned and dyno tested prior to shipping with guaranteed figures and performance we might be on a winner... Aussie dollar is giving us serio
this is truly the best chevelle video on youtube.... you make me a little jealous with that engine....though... i hope mine will at least hook up like that... make more videos like this..... looks perfect
70 Chevelle, one of the most beautiful cars ever. Right size = whole car not half, I love how the side and the top of the rear fenders meet, creating a subtle fin, and how the bumper integrates the taillights. How much would a stock gearbox THM400 would survive behind that 502?
Does anyone know if these Alien Intakes are bolt-on? I just put a 502 in my Chevelle and am looking at fuel injection options. I was going to go for a FAST EFI but this Alien Intake is interesting..
Nice point !!! That was awesome... LOL To NRE...I give you huge props for engineering such a great product, the Alien intake system but at $10k don't you limit sales potential. The average or slightly above average gear head / muscle car owner can't afford the Alien intake. I'm just adding my thoughts and not trying to stir the pot. Nice videos; I enjoy watching them almost as much as driving my turbo chevelle.
Dude I love you guys I live on the other side of Plummer right near superior elementary and I never knew where all those nice sounding cars came from keep up the good work!!!!!
I remember back when I first crossed the 500 hp mark in my '73 T/A. I did unvoluntery 180's and 360's quite a few times trying to do power skids, in the beginning haha. Lots of fun.
Nice sound, nice engine, but but.....WHERE IS THE LAMBO? :) Got any updates on the Lambo engine order?...the Teaser video(s!) are getting 6-9 months old now.
You could buy a Dominator equipped 598 from Steve Schmidt for $15,000 and have 800hp, but you are missing a few things. Off the top of my head is fuel injection, a perfect and controllable ignition (not cheap BTW), data logging/engine management/tune on the fly. The biggest thing missing though will be drive-ability. This car probably cost 6 figures to bring up to date and then modernize so in this case I would consider it a good match. YMMV. Peace
Hey, I'm 16 and really interested in cars and building them from the ground up like you, how did you get where you at today because something like this is my dream and I don't know where to start? Thanks
hello i have a 2000 holden vtss comodore and i am looking at getting a engine from u guys but what would i have to do to be able to put the engine in the holden iam from australia
I'm surprised every cop in Chatsworth isn't camping on NRE's doorstep. Don't get me wrong, I think they should subsidise them for their contribution of rubber on the streets. Leaves better traction when wet, leaves a rich dark hue to the road, etc., etc. Besides that, a good, long and smoky burnout, to some, is almost as good as sex. Notice I said ALMOST!!! NRE, KEEP UP THE SUPER GREAT WORK, KEEP THE FAITH AND FOIL THE COPS!
Call me old school but I like my Muscle cars with the numbers matching. Now dont get me wrong that thing is orgasmic but the numbers got to match for me.
ok,, gotta get rid of the CAM cuz its causing the camera to shake to much, and u gota make it front wheel drive so the smoke dosent block my vision of the video!!! its just un professional this way,... LOLOL,,, sorry,, couldnt help myself, i actually just looked in the mirror and SLAPPED myself for joking around about that.. i did so cuz i actually seen a comment like that once from someone with an integra civic turbo name, lol,, everything about this car, NRE videos and products is amazing

Out of all of your videos, this is by far my favorite, the 640SS is a close second, awesome work man.
That Chop tho!!! Sick!! Bro bring back Nelson Racing vids man!!
Does anyone know if these Alien Intakes are bolt-on? I just put a 502 in my Chevelle and am looking at fuel injection options. I was going to go for a FAST EFI but this Alien Intake is interesting..
My mistake...THIS is my favorite NRE build!!!!
The only thing I don't like about this is he never answers questions in the comments section
610 HP for an N/A, that's incredible. Love what you guys do at NRE, keep it up.
Nice point !!! That was awesome... LOL

Those tires dont stand a chance!!😳🔥
Man my small chevy gonna sound crisp and clean like that toi
TOM NELSON'S builds make CHIP FOOSE's work look like back yard mechanics work...but CHIP is a hall of famer no doubt.
Sounds great, your alien intake is a work of art. Top job Tom, keep these great video's coming!
Dude I love you guys I live on the other side of Plummer right near superior elementary and I never knew where all those nice sounding cars came from keep up the good work!!!!!

Gaaah! Can't wait for this tuesday to see the new skid marks you made (x its a blast living so close! :D
Beautiful engine and car. Sounds li
ke it has an exhaust leak when you did the under hood shot.
I love the fact that now a days, it's "only" 610 hp. In about 15 years time, it's only 2500 hp. 610 hp still gets your attention if you mess up:p.
Need to see more video
no air filter? nice intake though, the name is very fitting. :)
Not seen anyone ask on the Hyd. Roller bumpstick numbers. What's the lift & duration?
what cam do you have in the 502 great car
Your really good bro and I'm very impressed, keep up the good work.
if i ever win the lotto, i'm going to Tom Nelson to build me a car like this with a twin turbo 454
Is that the ice cream man I hear in the background when your on the laptop ? LOL. When he plays the music, that means there out of ice cream. LOL
Is there no air filter then? Just sucking it right out of the air?
Outstanding! Damn. I need a car like that.
must be really easy to find the NRE workshop just look for the road with big burnout lines!
Most of the drivability is in the cam choice and the tune. I think they still use BigStuff3.
Nice sound, nice engine, but but.....WHERE IS THE LAMBO? :)
Got any updates on the Lambo engine order?...the Teaser video(s!) are getting 6-9 months old now.
my dream ride ... my 07 silverado with a nelson motor
What was the cost of the intake and cam upgrade?
Do you make those intakes for SBC 350 motors?
Nice engine sound .
wow strong engine with stock parts!

hey what could you guys do with a jeep 4.0 inline 6 if i told you you could do what you want to it and no budget?
The engine doesn't break the bank, but it breaks your jaw whilst you stare at it.
Music to my ears
It's the ice cream man or the damn train
ken oath... gotta be a market for it here im hooked
"at only 610hp..." --- "only" and "610hp" has never seen the same sentence. I wish i lived in Tom Nelson's world.
Dat LOPE!!!! DAMN!!!
do a powerstroke .. do you guys wathc the lucas oil late model dirt series. its cool
Is that ticking a lifter or exhaust leak?
GREAT CAR, GREAT VIDEO!
Dat lope tho!!!

what does a dd commuting car have to do with anything? i would love to see you commute in a car that gets 10mpg
I was wondering when the mad scientists from NRE would make a new video!?
the dash would look better with either the stock gauges or some auto meter analogs or something like that. nice car.
Bad Ass- Well Done!
The Best!
This is how I want my 388 to sound
Quick release valve covers? Must be nice!
I feel bad for the civic ate all the chevelles exhaust
You can't put enough tire under that, and with only a cam, intake, and tuning.
What would it take to get an alien intake on my 70' GTO? price-wise...
Beatiful car!
How much for the intake and cam package
cool video!!! keep'em coming
How many speeding tickets do you have?
Why diddnt nre use a manual transmission for this car?
Im curious as to how much the intake alone would cost. Again, not the cheapest 100 HP you can get. But the man is a mad genius. lol
What a Monster.

a pretty well stock motor pulling that impressive work boys..
would love to see tom jumping on the brakes. that would be a smoke show
lol at the ice cream truck music half way through
I don't know what tires are on this chevelle, but you should definately get some American Racing AR500's or whatever their new name is now :D
What's the song
what do you use for fuel management?
The beast !!
Is it not just gonna suck in hot air from the rad?
Nice ride. He just needs to get the squeaks and rattles out of it.
Also, get some moe tire profile.
That heavy ice cream truck is going to need an NRE mirror image turbo 632.... That should change its tune.
What size cam was added to the 502?
Allways Ready.......
I have 502 edelbrock top end . how much for this.
Those 502 motors are capable of making 650hp EASY
u gt a 350 crate layin around?
Call me old school but I like my Muscle cars with the numbers matching. Now dont get me wrong that thing is orgasmic but the numbers got to match for me.
nearly stock 502. damn. do some more mods.
totally true.
502 comes with 500hp you added a cam that gave you the extra ponys .. that intake didn't do anything..looks nice but yeah..
an expedition gets 12 tops. its heavy. our f250 turbodiesel gets 20 empty. town 22 highway.
how much is that motor? since most of his motors do kill the bank loll but i wouldnt mind having that motor in my 1970 monte carlo
ok,, gotta get rid of the CAM cuz its causing the camera to shake to much, and u gota make it front wheel drive so the smoke dosent block my vision of the video!!! its just un professional this way,... in the area where tom drives the cars of his customers ....there has to be very very very much rubber on the streets :D
were can i get one of these motors
how much for the upgrade
What type of exhaust do you run?
sweet!
Changing the fuel map to the tune of the ice cream truck
nothing short of holy shitactular
What computer program is that?
N/A is the way to go
610hp still leaves a nasty treadmark
Black Widow exhaust??? I'd sure love to hear that thing with the exhaust turned out at the front of those rear fatty's. It would stomp the ground.
