Also, bare in mind that the heat protected bags will hold in moisture so the longer they are in the bag or wrapping the soggier they will get. It's basic physics. These sandwiches are meant to be eaten right away, not 20 or 30 minutes later so the first one you ate will be less moist than the last. Or the sandwiches that are bought first but eaten last will collect more moisture rendering the buns soggy, the lettuce, tomato and pickles to get wilted, and the outer crust of the chicken to soften and making it lose it's delicious crunchy coating. texture. It can also dry out the chicken if left too long in the bag.
I prefer to have my Popeyes sandwich spicy. Cayenne and paprika are added to the mayo that gives the sandwich a good kick while the pickles balance it all out. I remember the craze when it was released....it's good, but not "stab someone" good.

I may have to try and spicy version. The one I had was the normal and the crunchy was nice and the chicken was juicy but I felt like it had no real flavor and it was kind of bland.

You have to order the Deluxe Chicken sandwiches pretty much everywhere you go here in the U.S to get the Lettuce, Tomatoes, pickles and mayonnaise on them. They're listed on every menu like this. So if you just order a original chicken sandwich you're more than likely to get them like the one you got from McDonald's unless their original chicken sandwiches at other places are already served with pickles and or mayo already on them. So Italy may automatically serve them that way but most times here in the U.S they ask you if you want them original or spicy, with or without the extra condiments.

You guys…lol. I’m an American and I live in Portugal. Your video inspired me so I just had a spicy chicken sandwich at KFC (I prefer the spicy chicken) it was actually pretty good! But I’m going to Barcelona today and will definitely try the Popeyes version!! 😅 maybe you guys can do a spicy chicken sandwich review (they have lot more flavor) bc typically I love the Wendy’s version but their regular chicken sandwich is blegh 👎🏻

Burger King had amazing chicken sandwiches 10-15 years ago. They were long shaped not round, they were crispy and full of flavor!

The long chicken sandwich is the classics chicken sandwich and they still have it. I haven’t tried it in a long time now because I’m not a fan of Burger King.

Whenever I see taste tests like these I wonder if part of the reason you might not like some of them is because they're cold by the time you eat it?.
They could be cold or wet, things get soggy or dry... and also after eating 4-5 other chicken burgers your taste is altered. One could be on the sweeter side and the next is spicy so the combination can be off.

I recently, like last week, tried the Popeyes chicken sandwich and I too rated it a 10! I was equally surprised.

The Zax sauce is actually the best sauce out of all of them lol. Popeye's is ok when it's cooked correctly. I also think it makes a difference in the order you tried these. The longer you take to get to one the colder/mushier/less crispy it's going to be. They need to be tried freshly when made in separate trips. :)

Great video! Y'all are right about Canes in LA!! They do have a chicken ssndwich btw. I was not impressed with the Popeyes sand in Lafayette LA but willing to give it another try. Also love chick f la with the sauce! It really does make a difference where you are at. Love y'all and your shorts make me so happy!!💕

Popeyes is same caliber as KFC - it fills the hole but you re not going to enjoy it . jbh

Back in the 90s-2000's Burger King had a grilled chicken sandwich that I loved and I got all the time called the BK Broiler. Not sure why they discontinued it but it was better than that long weird fried one they have had on the menu forever. I got the McDonald's "crispy" chicken sandwich when it first came out and if it was crispy, putting it in that bag just made it wet and it was far from crispy and not great. Maybe the bags help keep it warm, but the heat makes the batter wet and lose its crispiness. Wendy's used to have decent fried chicken sandwiches but those have gone downhill too. I think Popeyes has the crispiest and decent flavor. Chic-fil-A flavor is good but they never put any condiments and leave it up to the consumer to do. Once you put something on it, it's pretty good.

If you have a Culver's near by, I think it rivals Chick fil a. Crispy, flavorful, juicy. I like their spicy. Great quality and a fair price. Love the channel guys.
Popeyes sandwich is freakin amazing. We finally tried it late last year after hearing all the hype. We weren’t disappointed…..definitely best “fast food” chicken sammie hands down!
The McD's Chicken Sandwich is horrible but the McChicken Sandwich is the best, even better than Popeye's and it's cheaper than all of them by 50%.
When I tried Popeyes chicken sandwich I loved his crispy and crunchy it was and the chicken was fresh and juicy enough but I felt it didn’t really have any flavor or anything to it. Was kind of bland to me.
To bad they are all halal. Why is Popeyes serving halal chicken in North America???lol worst
it's just really solid, and the chicken "tastes" like something...(and it's usually huge...)...
It's good but definitely overrated.
The good part is how big and juicy it is.

Yes Raising Cane's does have a chicken sandwich, it's 3 of their tenders with their suace and lettuce on a kaiser roll.
I prefer spicy sandwiches that are not dry, so I need mayo and/or suace on mine. Heck at Subway I get mayo, mustard, Sriracha/Spicy, oil & vinegar, I can't choke down a dry or flavorless sandwich. But a good chicken sandwich hack is to add either Sriracha mayo or Thai Peanut Sauce. Thai Peanut Sauce is great with chicken.
Canes has a chicken sandwich but it’s just 2 or maybe 3 tenders on a bun. I can’t even think of there is pickles or lettuce or anything. I never have ordered it but canes is my sons favorite restaurant so I am there a lot lol
The canes sauce apparently is so divisive. But to those crazy people who hate it I think your taste buds must be broken because 👌 it’s delightful.
My favorite is the Chik-Fil-A with a packet of honey added to the sandwich. The combo of the honey, pickle and chicken is fantastic. Makes a good chicken sandwich great.
The Hardee's Big Chicken sandwich is good the Chicken tastes good & it's thick Chicken & it has mayo & a soft bun. Try Hardee's I'd u have them in ur area. They have great breakfasts. They have hotdogs & hot ham & cheese & mushroom Swiss burger all good! I like their regular cheeseburger so good & it never upsets my stomach. 💜🙏👍🤟

To be fair, American restaurants never ever deliver the same sandwich we see in the advert. For some reason this just isn’t a thing. In contrast the Japanese deliver as close as possible the product seen in the advert as the one you receive in person. The McDonald’s sandwich… by chance was this different from a McChicken? A McChicken comes with lots of lettuce, a pickle, and lots of mayo. It’s one of my favourite from their menu. Also, if the sandwiches were kept in a closed bag, they do lose their crispiness. (As Alessio pointed out the condensation) Just a little tip so you won’t get disappointed with the next purchase. This was a fun test. I have been seeing a lot of adverts for the Burger King chicken sandwich. I may try it!! (Never had it just yet)
I just stumbled onto this channel and have been watching the American "Trys" content. On this video I would say Popeye's is decent probably a 7-8. But BK's recent (now discontinued) Ch'King deluxe sandwich was a 9.5 and easily the highest bar of sandwiches I ever tried. Having said that my local BK screwed up my order 3 times and gave me the spicy one which I couldn't eat...The new Royal Chicken sandwich they replaced it with is about a 6 with the Bacon and Swiss Cheese Royal Crispy Chicken maybe a 7?
Love watching you guys! I know you were comparing apples to apples here so maybe that's why you didn't try it? But, you missed out on the Best Chicken Sandwich of all, IMHO. Burger King's "Original!!" I'm not a youngster, but I'm sure not ancient either, lol, and it was around wayyy back when I was a pretty young person, maybe a kid, and it's STILL going strong!! That's a long time. I've been in Sales all my life, & that's taught me a very important rule of thumb; Businesses do what works, until it doesn't. Well, they are STILL doing what works with this sandwich. I hope sometime before too long when you're doing another video, you can review their Original Chicken, so we can see if you like it! It's delicious!
You guys are so fun. My thoughts on Popeyes (and I used to live in New Orleans), it's hit or miss. They have no consistency. I tried the chicken sandwich and mine was awful. The piece of chicken made me gag. Plus they forgot to give me the beignets I ordered. Chicken fil a, on the other hand, is always good. Every sandwich is the same. And! I've never had the sandwich but I can't believe you guys don't like the Zax Sauce! It's like gold. I thoroughly enjoyed your review. You guys are great.
Out of the Many times I’ve had chik fil A sandwiches it was slightly overcooked once. Every other time has been extremely consistent. Definitely agree with you.
In general, I don't do chicken sandwiches, but do chicken tenders. For me, hands down for chain restaurants is Popeyes spicy. Haven't had it since pre-pandemic, but have very fond memories of their chicken.
I dont eat take out however i will only eat Popeyes. Love that chicken from Popeyes 😁🥰

Many, many years ago (more than 35+) Popeye's red bean and rice was *beyond* good.
They were so creamy and spiced to perfection. I haven't eaten there in about that long. Sigh!
Apparently there are two chicken sandwiches at Burger King and one is just like McDonald’s (I think the one you tried must have been this) and one is on par with Popeye’s. According to several other UA-cam channels anyway.
You guys had it right! Although, generally I prefer the second to the first but depending on what you want bc they’re so different!
The only thing about Burger King is its locations. I love getting BK at the bigger buildings (the one with the playground inside) because it's like a franchise? main spot? building(don't know what they call it, it's those locations that has higher standards). Their deliveries tend to be above 90% and usually fresh! One time I accidently ordered from a Burger King up the road rather than the franchise down the street, and the ingredients were old and sour tasting! I was surprised, assuming it was from my main. It turns out I ordered from the wrong spot. (same experience in other locations as well, that's a smaller buildings/or buildings within malls/groceries. Usually they are "mid" however, still edible?)
If you see those bigger buildings of BK, get your food from there!
I think it also depends on which store you go to. I'm not blown away by the Popeye's in my city. Especially since the prices are rising, I really would like companies to make a better effort to improve their offerings. I work at a university whose cafeteria has quite a decent hamburger with fresh tomato and a huge piece of lettuce inside. I intend to try their chicken sandwich next.

Omg, the prices where you guys are! Here out west all these same sandwiches are double that. $8 to $10 each, and $12-$14 for a small combo.

I think if you try these chicken sandwich taste test again, go with eating spicy only or regular only. Mixing a Spicy Popeyes chicken sandwich with a regular Chic-Fil-A isn't really a taste comparison. Try the spicy Chic-fil-A chicken sandwich with the other take out spicy chicken sandwiches. It ill give you a much better idea on how to properly rate them in the same category of sandwiches. Also, I agree with some commenters that this needs to be done with the sandwiches nice and hot and fresh off the grill or at least as close as you can get. But this was still quite interesting to watch.
People forget when you by all of these sandwiches to try it’s at least an hour before you will be tasting them so the crispy crunch factor has dissipated. Top 3 for me kfc Popeyes and chick fil a. Also I have heard it depends on what part the the states you buy them in. I’ve had this happen just in state from city to city. Maybe it depends on who is cooking that day even though it’s suppose to be all the same.
I agree Popeyes is the best and Chick-fil-A is 2nd. Popeyes is our go to for chicken sandwiches. What I will give to Chick-fil-A is their spicy is in the breading and not just the sauce.
To get the best result from any of them you have to have them freshly made

Don’t forget chick fil a is always going to have that sandwich but Popeyes runs out all the time and that’s not a quality thing, it’s a quantity thing.
You have to put either mayo or chik-fil-a sauce on your sandwich. Otherwise it's too dry.

Chic-Fil-A comes plain because it is designed for you to select your own sauce preference for your chicken sandwich.. I do prefer Popeye's chicken sandwich over any of the others though I can eat any of them. Burger King has a grilled chicken sandwich or at least they used to, which was good but I always order with no lettuce there. You can taste that they have dipped their lettuce in something to try to keep it from going bad or browning and I don't like that taste. I will burp it all day and it even gives me a headache. For me, it is Popeye's, Chic-Fil-A, or Wendy's "spicy" chicken sandwich. The rest are just because they were nearby and I was hungry. Actually, Church's isn't bad and locally we have a chain called Golden Pride and their chicken sandwich rocks, I think it is better than any other.
The chicken sandwich from McDonald's you described sounds like the deluxe crispy chicken sandwich that has lettuce tomato mayonnaise, and you can add pickle. Or if you don't want mayo, you can get the spicy sauce.
McDonald’s in the US used to have the buttermilk chicken sandwich now they changed it and it’s not good at all

Chick-fil-A sandwiches simple and is always going to be a good one. You can talk to them up a little bit with different toppings and sauces and it makes it a little bit better. But the Popeyes chicken sandwich the way it comes is a bigger and twistier piece of chicken and it has more flavor. So that one is always going to win as far as which one tastes the best, but finding a Popeyes that has customer service that's worth going is another story

In defense of Mcdonalds, they have basic chicken sandwich (which was in the video) and the deluxe crispy chicken sandwich (which is really good). Personally, my favorite chicken crispy sandwich is Carl's Jr version. Also Carl's Jr has the best tasting (gross looking) fast food burger... Bacon Western Cheeseburger. OMG freshly made is soo good.
You gotta add the Chick-fil-A sauce that’s the whole experience. They don’t put it on there for a reason… it softens everything up when you put sauce on it and then put it in that hot bag.

Unfortunately for me, most of the places you rated all use soy bean oil in their cooking of their fried foods. Luckily for me, Chick-fil-A uses peanut oil and I am all over that! Additionally, I only buy spicy chicken because I need that extra hit! And yeah, the pickles are sparse so I always order extra pickles and usually, bacon... LOL... gotta have bacon! Never, but never add mayonnaise because.... yep, soy bean oil!!! Ugh... And never add cheese to a fried chicken sandwich... Which I noticed you didn't have on any of yours... Bravo!
I haven't found a chicken sandwich that has beaten the Popeyes version. So many try to duplicate the sandwich, but most of them try to do it with much less chicken and staler breads, vegetables, and condiments. No one seriously wants to compete on value against the Popeyes item which is why if a Popeyes restaurant is in the area, it will take the chicken sales for sandwiches in that product category.

Something very cheap is a digital thermometer. You could also place all the bags in a warm oven and take them out one at a time. All fun though.

That’s where we stand. Popeyes #1 and Chic-fil-a #2 so they were right on the mark. During 2019/20 when they were so scarce, we drive around looking for them. Lol
I'm always surprised that people don't like the KFC sandwich. Maybe it's just the KFC near me but I put it on the same level as Popeyes and Chick fil a. And it not being crispy enough? To me, it's the second crispiest sandwich on the list next to Popeyes. Chick fil a, Wendy's, Burger King all are way less crispy.The price is definitely too high though, I didn't realize it was that much more expensive.
I personally think Popeyes has too much breading, but that's what makes it extra crispy I guess so people like it; the flavor on the Popeyes is great tho and its probably the best for the price, since Chick fil a is quite a bit smaller.
In Canada, the Popeye's chicken sandwich is just over 8 bucks but really delicious!
When you convert your money to American it's about the same price.

lol, the power of suggestion when he dropped the BK score drastically. The lettuce is going to be a store to store issue. I think their chicken sandwich is decent similar to Wendy's. Macdonald's is hit or miss. At its peak, it's close to BK/Wendy's but other stores, it's just awful. I've never seen a Zaxby's so I don't have to try theirs thanks to you guys. Popeye's and Chick Fil A are the definite pinnacle when it comes to fast food chicken sandwiches although I would say Popeye's isn't as great when it first came out. The chicken was HUGE initially but the size has come down over the years. Still damn good though...
