- In this video on DIY Community we have shown how to restore an old vacuum cleaner.
Eureka forbes- Euroclean 2000 series vacuum cleaner which was lying in backyard has been chosen for this restoration.
Restoration of vacuum cleaner is shown step by step in this video and its all DIY at home. This restoration project on how to repair vacuum cleaner at home tutorial is common for all vacuum cleaners as the basics are same.
Restoration was successful and vacuum cleaner performance is like a new machine.
Accessories for Vacuum cleaner are made at home and they are as effective as OEM vacuum cleaner accessories. Accessories made of washing machine outlet hose and 1" PVC pipe which are available at nearby hardware store.

Hello bro..... Nice work..... Right now i using EUROCLEAN XL model bought on 1999 works very well still now....Then now i planned change the motor body (THAT RECTANGULAR MIDDLE PART) & power cord folding spring action part. Totally these 2 parts i needed... So, your end available these materials..... In your video showcased same model VACCUM CLEANER only, i used..... Pls help..
Hi Senthil, Thank you. I suggest you to check with a nearby service centre where they have more non working units. Pay them a small amount and get a same model machine. Replace the parts you need and your machine will be good to use. As it's 12 years old I suggest to change the bearing once to reduce the motor noise and vibration. Bearing may cost you Rs.100/- and a mixie repair guy can help you to change the bearing.

Hi Kriti thaker, if plastic is broken you can have to replace it. You can find them in any service centre. If metal body is broken you can try gas welding to fix it.

@Latika Soni, you can find specific model Vaccum cleaner dust collector bag in service centres. Try soaking it in detergent and washing it once. If it doesn't help go for a new.

Hi, check in any service centre nearby they can help you with the older body parts they have.
why not original hose used. what about blower function ?. how will you fix hose for blower function.
Hi, The original hose got badly damaged and couldn't be used anymore. Service centre told they don't have stock for these old machines. Then I tried making few fittings and the drain hose which I used fix the whole properly with no noticable leakage.
This model does not have a blower speed function. Switch and cable retractater mechanical was working proper and i have used them after a service.

Hi, I used a micro fibre towel as a filter. It works pretty well. No dust is allowed outside.

How to improve suction power of vacuum cleaner
Replace motor bearing and Replace the filter bag if it is very old. Check for any leakages on the enclosure.

Hi Nitish, are you replacing the older one with a new or want to put the dismantled one back ?
As I aware it's very hard to wind it manually as this is done by using a jig to hold and wind it. Mostly service centre will have this and can help to get the spring back. The new one comes with a tag and once placing it tag is being cut to set to action.

You are welcome. New one should come with some tags which will hold the spring action in place to install. If not a service centre person can help to put that in place. Be cautious as the spring will expand rapidly and may cause serious injury.
Plz tell how you make attachments
Hi, you can make attachments using pvc of same size. By heating the shape can be moulded as required. I used 32mm pipe and heated it to make different shapes.

Spring unit i haven't dismantled because it is very hard to wind it manually and for doing that we need special fixture.

You have not shown how to open right from beginning. Assembly is last step.your video is not worth from any angle.
Hi, Thanks for your comment. I have not shown the dismantling as not to make a lengthier video and to waste viewers time. When you can follow the screws which I install back it's same way reverse to dismantle this vacuum cleaner. Hope this helps!
