They need to get rid of gerrymandering or it will never be a true accurate measure of the people's vote.
Why? Just changing the window dressing won't make it democracy and this way is far more entertaining to all of us outsiders!
It's being addressed state by state, especially the ones where it was particularly insane. Citizen groups are on it, taking the issue directly to the ballot.

@m_train Gaming Nope. Not while the Orange Turd is still on the throne. Why? Because even now the Dems are energised. Remember, 6 million more people voted for the Dems than the Repubs. Let's face fact. By rights, the Repubs should have captured at least 5 to 6 seats from the Dems, if you look at electoral map. They only manage 2 to 3 depending on the results of the recount. This shows how lopsided the support by the Dems against the Repubs. As long as the Dems base are energised, we might see the flip side of 2016 in 2020 where the Dems, perhaps even a liberal one, control 2 branches of government. Remember, Trump got elected based on the electoral college from traditional blue rust belt states by a margin of 50k votes. Those states flipped blue. All these and not to mention the loss of state seats and 7 governorships

Aren't the midtems over? Argh, your elections are so complicated. You can vote before the election, you can vote after the election, sometimes you're not sure who won like in Florida.
You can't vote after the election, but the provisional and mail in ballots still need to be counted; Military personnel need to vote like that if they are overseas.
Some states also have mandatory recounts is the margin is within a certain threshold.
Why then give the results already? Why not wait until every ballot have been counted?

Do you really think that not posting anything at all for a week or two would make that any better? The conspiracy theories would be about every single ballot.

Seats are based on population not area. Yes it looks like a lot red as republican seats tend to be in rural areas that include regions on Montana, Idaho ect. (Plus in the South) Democrat seats are often urban ,so concentrated in high population belts. Republican votes tend to be uneducated, poor whites, simple farming folk, racists and dumb evangelicals.
