I work in IT networking (firewalls, load balancing webfarms, etc.) and I've used apache benchmark, curl, etc. to fire off thousands and thousands of requests against webfarms to check performance and response time. It'd be interesting to see what testing tools they used. PS: Pretty much every service I run at home is containerised using Docker (without K8s). Whenever I need a new WP instance to play around with, it only takes me a few sec to spin up a new WP container 😁.
