Can't make use of the poison procs. Poison procs are better for longer runs and even on longer runs, they only proc about 2-3 times. In the time of this video, it'd probably proc once and be half way to the second. The blast proced 6 times under three minutes which is 1800 dmg compared to a single poison proc which is about only 500 dmg. He's hitting fast paced too so all his poison attacks would go to waste and make less use of poison since poison doesn't stack on a poisoned target
I love the way you set it up so that you can just spam thrusts. Tho this run perfectly demonstrates the reason I don’t like MHW mechanics as much. This might be the fastest way to hunt tigrex, but it rely more on the monster. I hope campom would change this in future MH titles Great run, very clever .
So does he always follow up the quick bite with a claw swipe? He seems to do that pretty consistently. Most impressive either way as the window between the bite and the claw swipe is very tight but you pulled off the spirit Iai slash every time.

You have to use it like right before an attack hit's you, almost the same moment it does hit you. Then your spirit charge doesn't decrease and you get an opening for a helmsplitter most of the time
TA wiki rules is a category of speedruns where you basically have restrictions for hunting. For example you can’t use the Palico, mantles, flash pods, you can’t wall bang monsters, you can’t use heroics,... ecc
Meanwhile, Rainy, with a much more methodological approach, only reached 3'12". Conclusion: more brainless Iai Spirit Slash is just better than anything (no offence intended)

When you use the ia slash as a counter it doesn't take a gauge away
You have to use it like right before an attack hit's you, almost the same moment it does hit you. Then your spirit charge doesn't decrease and you get an opening for a helmsplitter most of the time
