Watched an employee at Sally Beauty tell a woman who asked for a color to do subtle lowlights on her level 9 honey blonde bleached hair and the helpful employee told her to get a level 5 color.
I can only imagine the shock she will feel when she sees her “subtle lowlights” are very very dark on that hair…..
DO NOT ASK SALLY BEAUTY EMPLOYEES FOR ADVICE.
Yuuuup!!!! Gotta remember most of them are just there for a paycheck! It's just another job to them. I doubt that most Sally's employees go home and binge Hair Buddha videos. Maybe that should be a requirement from management....LOL!!

@@0hMyLife isn’t that why most of us go to work? A paycheck. We need to manage our expectations for minimum wage employees. In retail, they stock shelves, ring customers, clean up and now we expect them to be walking beauty encyclopedias….all for $7.25 per hour. I expect them to ring me up and direct me to product locations…. That is it. If i have anything deeper, i would go to a licensed pro.
Ii think it depends on what staff member you talk to, the Sally's near me are very good and helpful.
I find that they are usually pretty helpful for ingredients tho, the brands give them a TON of information to memorize as well as free product to take home and play with. But it really IS too much to expect them to know information that people go to school specifically to learn 🤷♀️

Last time I bleached my hair I used my wella toner with 20 vol and it definitely worked, but it colored, not toned, my hair.
This time I used 10 vol with, yes T-18 lol, and it toned my hair PERFECTLY!!!!!! I also used 10 vol with my bleach (like Hair Buddha always says to do) and was FINALLY able to get a true WHITE blonde!!!! I am Daenrys Targaryen!!!! THANK YOU HAIR BUDDHA FOR SUCH AMAZINGLY GREAT ADVICE!!!!! You're my hair hero!!!!!
It was a pretty good job considering. We've all seen much worse! And the quick blue stopped a few breaths! 😂
I would love to do the lighter grey myself but, i have washed/faded out black dye over hair once bleached.. i would be a fail for sure.

When I was in cosmetology school in 1994- my teacher did a double process bleach (40 volume) ! My hair was shorter but already had bleach on it. I had to do tons of masks and conditioning treatments. Then a month later she picked me again and most of my hair fell off the rods- she didn’t even care. So happy your teaching them how to do it safely and right! 👏🏼 Merry Christmas 🎄

It looked SO GOOD in the darker setting. It was more impressive for sure. Now I want to see him go darker with it because the shade was perfect on him (in the darker lighting)

Wow! He did an awesome job with the cut and color😎🎉I love Silver hair myself but it's soo hard to get the right tone if you're doing it at home. My hair is a level 6 brown and I have gone all the way to platinum to a rose gold and ash blonde plus all the colors of the rainbow.,🌈 But I also shaved off all my hair soon after that.🤣😭🤦Have a Merry Christmas🎄🎀 Hair Buddha and a Happy New Year🥳.Here's hoping that people do better at bleaching their hair "other than Quick Blue" and Have successful color results +undamaged follicles.🤭
Okay! I had a revolution the other night with your 10 vol Rule!!!!
It's like baking a big, fat chicken boob!! If you throw ot in the oven at 500°F (aka 40 vol developer) it will look delicious and crispy on the outside, but cut into it and it's RAW!!!!! But........if you drop that temp down to, say 350°F (aka 20 vol developer) that chicken is perfectly baked inside and out!!!
It would have looked so cool with black roots too, no need to damage any scalp skin and in case it fries you do not end up bald. Though I think that dark asian hair I haven't seen melted off so far, it can take a lot.

I’m bleaching my long black hair tomorrow Hair Buddha. One round of shampooing bleaching to get to ice blonde starting at the roots. I got 40 Vol, Quick Blue, T18, no gloves and I won’t be sectioning 😂😂😂
I have to find within your channel the best way to double/triple bleach hair, color and tone as there seems like a lot of misinformation about the best way to do this properly.
They promote the use of oils and even mixing with aloe vera before and after bleaching and perming (either from curly to straight or the usual reverse).
Then the idea trying to have as much dirt/oil you naturally can muster and tolerate before doing any chemical hair processing.

My mother had a beautiful silvery white colour so I was hoping getting the same. Now after 6 months not dying my hair, it's clear I have some of that colour in the front but the rest🙄🤨😝. This week I'm digging up my coloring products and get to work.

Not everyone turns grey at 20 though. Going by my mum I'd have to wait another 40 years to turn grey. That's not exactly what I'd call soon.

Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 thank you for another fantastic video he was doing so well till near the end 😀 I think they should watch your videos before doing their hair 😉, I have a question for you I hope you can help me I have natural black hair but started going gray in my late 20 so I would colour my gray black and while in lock down I decided to just let my hair grow out and know its a lovely salt and pepper colour 😀 and I want to look after it the best I can I have tried different shampoos but just haven't found a good one that's good for my hair I'm a lady in my 60 with thick hair I would be very grateful for your advice 😀 thank you 😊 xx
I prefer using a purple mask once a month and occasionally a purple conditioner. More moisturizing for those frizzy grays.

I’ve done colors like this a couple of times and really all it takes is a light enough base, a good toner, and blue/purple products.
2 years ago I went to a "recommended" hairstylist (one of the most expensive in town) and I asked for this. After being in his place for more that 12 hours what Igot was a complete melted hair. There was no way to recover it from the damage so I had to cut it all. I'm amazed that this guy could get a good result at home.
(Just if you wonder, no, I didn't pay to the guy that ruined my hair).
I had something like that happen to me too, but I still had to pay the guy, said I can bring it up with the manager for a refund but he did the work so I have to pay for it. I brought it up to the manager and they wanted proof after proof after proof, pictures, videos, witnesses etc and then they said why did I pay if he ruined my hair? I must have done it myself and now I’m blaming them. 😅

I have a coworker who walked in with bleached hair, HORRIBLY bleached hair. I didn't know she was planning to dye it blue, and I wish I did because now it looks like a nasty green color because her hair was NOT ready for any color! It was a dark yellow blonde, pretty sure only 1 round of bleach. It was patchy. Wish I had a pic to show because some of these people's hair fails still look a MILLION times better!
I liked it bronze with the black on the bottom. Then again I like that kinda combo with pink, blue, green, whatever...

as someone who did my hair very pale silver for many years i should say, its so annoying. its only super pretty when theres no yellow in it and the color of the toner is nice. if anything slightly goes wrong or theres the slightest of yellow left, it ruins it. so yeah a very hard color to achieve.

I work with an older polish lady, she taught me a lot of what I know. She’s very good I am grateful to be working beneath her. She and hair buddah sound the same when they talk about hair it’s the accent but also the age they are, it’s like recapping but they impart the lasting and timeless fashions. This is worth it’s weight in wisdom, I can’t believe it’s still free

I honestly think if someone made a do-it- yourself video and told where you could buy all the medical equipment, showed how to take out your own appendix, there would some people out there to try it. "Oh yea it's cheaper than your copay from your insurance, and if it don't work out you can easily put it back."
I can see them now...... Making videos for utube or tictak, while pulling out their appendix saying," I don't know what I'm doing, I'm going for it anyway, what the heck!"

What's wrong with golden blonde? Everyone wants to go either platinum blonde or silver. Maybe I'm old and I don't get it.
Then, at 40 years old --> "He is dying his hair from gray to black". Suddenly people hate gray hair at 40.😂Why did he do this to his shine blue-black her?? Then, I remember mine is coloured ginger/copper.
My friends didn't believe that I have natural blue-black hair at 48 up to when I went ginger and they could see my very blue-black roots.
I do have 3 very white hair, which they also hate because it seems I am going straight up white hair instead of the typical gray. Don't I love my family hair genetics?

I feel old. People used to dye their hair so it WASNT grey or white (aka "platinum") its so aging.

I thought he overall did a really, really good job.

Toned Silver hair is different to unpigmented grey hair you get through old age
