I enjoyed your video. I recently got one on a trade as well. Mine was a .308 stainless with the Magpul stock. You're right, there's not much on UA-cam so I look forward to your updates.

Great video, definitely a sleeper model. Remington couldn't be bothered to do a stock to fit the barrel correctly, but I would love to see if there's any difference with some stock work done to it. Aways likes this gun, haven't had a chance to pick one up. It's more or less a modern take on a very old type of barrel, the octagonal barrel. Thanks for the video, look forward to seeing more!!

Got mine new in 308 from a store when they first came out.
Hiting a 24 inch gong at 800 yard with it. Using military surplus 7.62x51
Needs to be cleaned after every outing because it's corrosive ammo.
Alway a hoot to shoot. A keeper for sure.

The trigger can be cocked by lifting the bolt.
The bolt Does NOT need to be pulled rearward . . .

I've got one of these in 308 and hands down it's one of my all time favorites. I have had one for over 6 years and never had any issues out of it what so ever. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to get a 700 to get this model because it is an absolute tack driver. My only complaint with it is the notches on the end of the barrel that is a supposed to be a muzzle break which makes the gun loader than it needs to be. I've killed many of deer with this rifle and plan on bagging a few more in the future.

Do you still have this rifle? Did you resolve the stock free float issue? I've been thinking of picking up one of these rifles. Wondering where you've ended up with this.

Just got it in .308 today and same as yours, stock is very tight on the barrel, but only on the sides. I will also go put a few round through it just to see (as you stated, some guys had 1/4" groupings with no mods so who knows) but I will likely shave it down as well to make it a true free floating. Other than that this thing is gorgeous.

I put a bell and Carlson tactical metal five stock on mine and love it, my old man's a bit of a fud and says it's too heavy 😂

all old school guys are .308 guys, Need to move on

Why? I shoot what I have just fine. "Moving on" is for followers, I'm not one. My stuff works and its performance is repeatable and reliable. I love when people that "moved on" show up and make excuses why their shit didn't work because it was new and not set up yet. BUT the shop is easy to find, bring your new whatever and we will head up on the hill and cold barrel 800 closest to the cork for $100. My old shit is just fine.

I hear you on that old school comment. I like the .308 also, but I am more of a 30.06 man. I love the video. I have never encountered a triangle barrel. I can see the pluses. Quick question though. I am not a big fan of composit barrels, but beside that. Could that barrel started out floated and with heat melted the composit stock to the barrel? Reason saying is I noticed on your video the sides look like it was fully floated. Please respond. You got my ole gears turning now and I do have a couple that I traded with composit, but hardly shoot, because of I thought the barrel would melt the composit. One is a 7mm STW and that barrel heats up quick. Appreciate it brother.
