So many weird monsters and events happen in this game, but nothing ever gets more ridiculously awesome as the dwarf, riding the barbarian, riding the giant, fire-breathing mantis.
*Death Adder was a really great boss with his magical shield!* *I also love the way he bad-assely hoists himself up on the dragon for the final battle. I'm sure first-time players didn't expect this!* *Overall, a really respectable arcade game from Sega!*
I haven't watched through this video in awhile, but you definitely do have a good point. Keep in mind that this game wasn't played for the purpose of making a video. We just played it for fun, and I decided to record it. You're probably right that Mike was holding up the game a bit, but I must not have thought he did it so much that it ruined the video. Of course, the game needs to be held up if he's going to type something. Anyways, I'll try to inform people about that next time we do a game.
OFC!!! That 4-Player Piledriver-move Stopms mostbosses in1 hit!!! And looks awesome!! ) Ps. do not be afraid of the tentacles that pops up in the ship, and other places..:) they only what to give you a hug
Since Mike is one of my online friends, I can't just "drop" him. Anyways, he's a bit weird, but he tries to be like that. Doesn't really bother me at all.
Easily one of the best Golden Axes out there. It's a shame it never got to a console, though I think the only one who could've recreated everything in this game is the Playstation 1 and it wasn't even launched back then. (1992, two years until PS1 came to the scene)
@@arronmunroe I agree, Sega Saturn was better for 2D graphics than Playstation 1. The Megaman X games are good example of that. And also having mucho shorter loading screen
When you're fighting Death a d d e r don't use your magic potions or else he will suck them up and eat them you have to break his shield first then you can use your magic potions

I see you've played many side scroller beat em ups I need your opinion, what makes this genre such a good one and why the old games are better than the new ones that are made in this genre?
+Adrain Munteanu I wouldn't be able to give you a very good answer to your first question. As for your second question, I find that modern beat em ups tend to use the "3D style control" which I don't like as much for this kind of game. The Ninja Turtles in Time remake is an example of a game that does this. Double Dragon Neon is a recent beat em up that actually doesn't do this and plays more like the older games.
Were you really fighting monsters on the edge of the screen like that? or is it cut off? Seems like a flawed mechanic to me. games awesome though, even though these new characters are kind of dumb XD
VIOLATOR HUNTERS OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS AND PERFECTION CALLED OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS AND PERFECTION CALLED OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS
I didn't give as much consideration to things like that on my older videos. On the emulator I used for this, it was the Japanese version that was listed as Japan (4 players for Kaillera). Either I didn't know how to change the player number to 4 on the other version at the time, or I just didn't feel like going through the service menu.
arronmunroe these types of videos should be banned. the problem with you cats is you are not willing to put in the work to be half way decent at an old skool game.
Castiel Diallo I think that's a little harsh. It should be mentioned that if you're trying to find a skillful video, then you should be searching for ones labeled as "1cc". You generally won't find much different from this if you're looking for 4 player.
arronmunroe actually, i found a number of vides where the players knew what they were doing. its a shame that the scrub videos seem to far out number the skill base videos. if i could procure mame that works with mac, i would gladly post my own.
Castiel Diallo When you say "players", I am not sure if you mean multiple videos with one player, or videos with more than 1 player. I had been saying that it is harder to find videos that feature 2 or more players that are especially skillful, but they do exist if you look for them. For me, I couldn't make such a video even if I wanted to. I never played this game enough to be able to beat it on 1 credit, but even if I did, it would not change things that much for a 4p video, since I'm only 1/4 of the players. As for how there are many videos like this, that is because there are some people out there who really don't care how good the players are, which is why many of the videos I make are the kind you hate so much. It really is impossible to please everyone on UA-cam.

Brings back memories as a kid staying up all night watching someone play this arcade game.
The 90s rule this game brings back child hood memories one of my favorite games next to mortal kombat 2

Oh, man! I remember how much I loved to play this game way back in the 90s! And even though it's a bit dated, it's still nonetheless impressive!

THAT was overkill. Lol!
One of the screams is stolen from Rambo
when the enemy dies he is like ''AHHHHHH GET OF!!!!'' and that also happens in one of the Rambo movies
There are more sample from movies and even another Rambo sample :)
The only thing missing in this game is a playable red amazon woman, just like in GA1,2 and 3.

It would be cool, if there was made an animé series based on Golden Axe :))) And ofc.. NOT a kiddie-animé..but from age 16 and up.

How do you get 4 players my rom only allows 2.
Press F2 to open the service menu, then press 9 to navigate to "game assignment", press F2 to open it and then change "cabinet type" to 4p.
VIOLATOR HUNTERS OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS AND PERFECTION CALLED OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS AND PERFECTION CALLED OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS
How can you play this over the net?
+RonkoDDR The emulator MAME++ 0.119 has a netplay feature.
