    This is how it was growing in my community of Louisiana. Regardless of race, all the adults would feed us and all the adults would tag our behinds! I remember one time me and my bff were having one of our “I don’t like you” moments. We started pushing and shoving each in the communion line and in the pew as we were kneeling - yes the house of the Lord of all places! Baby, both our moms couldn’t get to us fast enough after service. It was a tag team effort. 😂😂😂

    I agree with Morgan Freeman. The way to snuff out racism is stop talking about it. We shouldn't consider each other black men or white men, (or women)
    Just men and women. It's kind of funny to me that people are always intentionally trying to keep us divided along lines of race, among other things, yet I don't experience any racial tension in day to day real life. We're all just trying to pay our bills, raise our families, and hopefully retire and have at least a couple years to enjoy life before we die. The only times I've had someone accuse me of bigotry, was by pretentious, condescending white people. You know the type. The "I have to defend all the black friends I don't have!" 😂
    I choose unity over segregation. Always.

    • @kirkdarling4120
      @kirkdarling4120 Місяць тому +1

      What other offense has "not talking about it" ever stopped? Would child molestation stop if we just "stop talking about it?" As Chris Rock said, "We've got the best white people now that we've ever had," and it's counter-productive to deny that. What we should do, of course, is acknowledge where we've improved and accurately assess where we have room to improve.

    • @bobbys.3778
      @bobbys.3778 Місяць тому

      @kirkdarling4120 You have a point, but molestation and racism hardly align for your argument. And I'm a Chris Rock fan, but as far as "we" as a collective, I don't place myself into any social stigmas such as I'm guilty of something, simply because of the color of my skin. And like I was saying in my initial comment, I don't experience racial divide in my every day life. The media perpetuates the division. I don't have "white guilt" because I've personally never oppressed anyone. And as far as white privilege, I've done back breaking labor my entire life, and I have struggled every step of the way. If white privilege exists, it seems to have skipped me. I don't condone bias and bigotry, that's just ignorance. But I will not feel bad about something that people did years ago, just because my skin tone resembles theirs. Not to mention, some of the first slaves in the world were white, enslaved by pirate tribesmen in Africa. Like I said, I agree with Morgan Freeman. That's why I credited him with the quote. Another good point he made is that things like Black History month and things of that nature, like separation of people by color politically, socially, or otherwise, are just forms of modern day segregation.

    Imagine hating yourself so much you have to create this idea that you arent what biology made you....
    I can understand the feeling of embarrassment over stupid stuff we do in life, but this takes that to a ehole new level.
    Im a straight white male.
    I love who i have become and am damn proud of what ive achieved in life. I no longer feel ashamed or hate myself for past mistakes.
    I also praise and appreciate anyone no matter their background for seeking to better who they are every day and can look at themselves in a mirror and smile at the person they see looking back at them.
