I review the BMP21+ industrial label maker from BRADY LABEL. www.bradyid.com/ The main benefit of a BRADY label maker is the quality of labels. These labels will last for years!
I have watched a few dozen videos on this printer, trying to learn the differences between the various label materials, and some of the other nuances of using it. FINALLY the UA-cam algorithm sent me to your video which is by far the most informative one on the whole interwebs! Kudos.
Excellent review! I purchased one yesterday at our electric supply and wanted to get some info before I used it. Your tips have been very helpful before I use it.
At workplace have had these on use in workplace for YEARS. To be honest we always have cartridge in them all. Its quite nice tip unlock it to be more fine result. Battery life is nice but if you try power it DC plug (remember this has outer ring a plus and inside pin is GND which is annoying trap) you need at minimum 2.2A as when you hit print it takes such amperage or it will shutdown.
you sold the idea to me with the power supply volts and amps ! who makes that tiny unreadable text on the AC adapters ! BUT , the non qwerty keyboard .... ah dam, i have loads of nasty part codes to write and hunting for those characters , nope :(
Not sure what you are calling "wire" but I found the pre-loaded cloth labels VERY limiting for labeling CAT-5/6 wire. I could only type out about 8-10 characters, and had to go down to 6pt, which was almost unreadable. The .75 black on white SELF LAM VINYL worked great for CAT-5/6 networking cable. I was able to type two lines of 20+ characters.
I agree, the self-lam is nice if you know you are only going to wrap wires with it. The Cloth can wrap and also be used as a standalone label. It also works great if you want to flag a label. But like anything that tries to do too many things, it is not the best at any of them.
Great job. I love my Brady with the exception of about half of the cartridges I get are messed up. The thermal ribbon ends up coming off with the label. It's annoying as hell for a $25+ cartridge.
I feel ya brother! It happened one too many times to me, so I found a way to repair it. Check out this vid : ua-cam.com/video/4hoB-bvSa_0/v-deo.html And be sure to watch till the end, where I give a little insight in how to avoid tearing the ribbon in the future. Hope it helps!
@The Oracle I don't think they addressed this issue. Maybe they looked at altering the cartridge. To be fair, it doesn't happen that often, only when I let someone borrow the printer (for some reason). I used the cheaper alternative media. They do not adhere as well or as long. For some applications, this might be a positive.
Nice demo ! Red seems to be the only color ? ...bummer Am after a Non-Thermal printer, as the heat, here in FL wipes out my Dymo cheappie tapes... hope this works !
You need to be in "banner landscape" mode so the material prints longways. You also should just set the font size to "Auto". Then all you should have to do is hit enter after you type the first line.
I have vinyl labels on serving utensils that I use fairly regularly. They are still on there after two years. I do avoid scrubbing right on the label though.
@@threephase69 I was asking about this particular model. Im looking to print barcodes and possibly some QRs but its hard to find specific information regarding this model for some reason. Maybe bad marketing?
The lithium ion battery cannot be charged while it is installed in the printer. It specifically notes this in the user manual. You are ill-informed. Discredits your whole review.
I never state that you can charge the battery while in the printer. I state that a fully charged battery will last the "life of the printer". For me, the battery has lasted 6 cartridges without needing a recharge. Is that not enough for you? I guess there is no pleasing some people, especially if they have stock in Zebra printers :P

Thank you! We are all, at times, reliant on the algorithms mercy. I am glad it finally brought you here!

Thank you for explaining what the cloth label is for! I could not find that info anywhere, including the Brady website.

Good review, I just bought one
This thing has come in handy quite often!
Very informative demonstration. Detailed.

best setting for just regular labeling- office
My recommendation would be Horizontal text

How many rows can be printed on a single label?
Depends on the size. Always at least 2. On the 3/4" width, I think it is four rows.
Great video! Wanting to buy this Model awesome! Way better than Dymo printer thank you
FYI: The electrical symbol is not earphones, it is the symbol for ohms
Joe, if you look closely it is in fact earphones. why they put it there?? who knows. Ohms symbol is located at SHIFT ^ T
How do you print on multiple lines? I can't figure that out for the life of me

i like the comments like "butter finger" lol
I like that you like that :)
is the printing waterproof and has a long life time?

Cloth isnt rly the best for wires. Theres a label called "self laminating vinyl".
You could use those... if you are made of money! Cloth is what us peasants use.
Does this print barcodes?
Yes, the newer printers can print 2 different typical barcodes as well as QR codes
