Unique Rear Weight Solution - Subcompact Tractors

      A phone charger will always supply voltage, the phone decides when it stops accepting (Most common). Doing that to a raw battery cell will cause a thermal event. You need something that will monitor the cell voltage and turn off automatically.

    • @IllInformedHuman
      @IllInformedHuman Місяць тому

      Thank you! With that 100mA charger, it takes about 45minutes to bring each cell voltage up by 0.1V. The 8Ah battery took a little over eight hours while the 12Ah took the same time, due to less cells being undercharged. Using a beefier charger would reduce the time drastically. Though, slower charging means a cooler cell, which helps preserve the battery life.

      Wondering, if a m18 pack goes bad, is it possible to identify any remaining good cells and salvage them for use in another pack that has “bad” cells?

    • @IllInformedHuman
      @IllInformedHuman 13 днів тому

      @@chriscoco547 After fully charging the pack (At least as high as it will let you) when you open it up and check each cell voltage, the ones that are closest to 4.2VDC would be the "good" ones. Unfortunately, the cells are tack welded onto a strip of metal during assembly at the factory, so harvesting them is fairly difficult and not advised.

    • @IllInformedHuman
      @IllInformedHuman Місяць тому

      That looks like a 60W potentiometer controlled solder station. Since it does not have a screen, I believe all it is doing is taking in the voltage, stepping it down with a transformer and then using the potentiometer to run over some simple heating circuitry (If not just running directly to the heating element). So, no you likely won't damage the solder station with the top off, however, don't be surprised if the thermostat needs to be turned a little higher than you normally have it set. Have fun!

    Looks pretty solid. I have a brand new 73hp Kioti Rx, relatively similar type of soil to yours but a bit more clayish, plan on ripping it in the fall with full irrigation. Do you think a 5 bottom plow with 2 stabilizer wheels on the back is ok for my size tractor? I know 5 bottoms are usually used with 110hp but after watching your vid I'm a lot more convinced. If a 60 can do 4 then 73 should realistically be chugging along the same power to plow ratio pulling 5. Would love to know your thoughts on this. Thanks!

    • @IllInformedHuman
      @IllInformedHuman Місяць тому

      I bet you could pull five bottoms with 73HP and 4-Wheel drive (Assuming you do this in the fall). The old rule of thumb was 20HP per plow. However, I found out from another farmer that the rule holds true for a 2-wheel drive tractor. I believe the the new rule should be more around 12-15HP per plow when you have 4 wheel drive engaged. Worst case scenario would be that you have to unbolt one of the plow bottoms, so why not go with the 5 bottom plow!

      Sounds like your wiring and code do not match. Make sure you have all pins wired correctly. It could also be a voltage issue, on UNO/MEGA use 5V for VCC pin, on ESP/STM32 use 3.3V. Otherwise it could be that your reader is broken, or the model you have is not the same as the typical chineese one used in the video.

    Leaving the wipers up is convenient but the loss of it isn’t the end of the world. You can have your wipers up or remote start but not both. The wiper spring isn’t designed for long term extension. They will stretch over time. There is a wiper park procedure in the manual that you’re not using and should be used if you’re leaving your wipers up. What you’re doing isn’t recommended. Read your manual. I’m sure the Maverick Hybrid handles like other FWD cars in the snow. Tires for both FWD and AWD make the difference. More so on the FWD as far as getting started and maintaining forward movement.

    • @IllInformedHuman
      @IllInformedHuman 4 місяці тому

      I assume you are talking about what the manual refers to as the "service position". They say to run the wipers while in accessory mode until they are in the middle of the windshield unless obstructed with snow and ice. For "wiper park" it states that the mode will be active whenever you switch on the side mirror heat. The only precautions for wipers are to leave them off when going through a car wash and to not run them on a dry windshield. It does not state that they cannot be left in the service position. It also does not bring up that you can leave them in service position, thus the debate. I will assume you don't actually own a maverick since you have clearly not READ YOUR MANUAL!

    For some additional insight here... Everywhere power is generated, or transformed, you need to establish a ground reference. For example, you may have single phase 240Vac coming into your house from the power company. Where the voltage and current are transformed (the transformer on the utility pole for instance), a ground/neutral bond is established to create a reference that is common to both sides. Same thing in commercial control applications where you may take 3 phase 480V and grab one leg of it to a 480:120Vac xfmer. The low side of that transformer will have two wires that read 120Vac between the two. One of them will be bonded directly to ground on that secondary side in order to maintain a common reference to the same ground on the high (480v) side. The ground bonded leg will now be the secondary's ground (green wire) and neutral (white wire). After that point, the two will never join each other again, and if another xformer was added down stream to say, drop 120Vac down to 24Vac, the process would continue. The ground wire to ground, hot and neutral to high side of transformer, then on the low side, two wires will exit, with one wire being bonded to ground to maintain the common earth reference that began all the way back at the turbine that spun up to create the power in the first place. Long ramblings just to explain that if you measure without ground off the secondary side of an inverter that is internally bonded to the negative side of the battery supplying the power, you're not going to get completely accurate results. Thank you for catching this.

    The important thing to know is electronic equipment can be damaged or destroyed or even explode if connected to that SHAPE of power wave. There is a story of an audio equipment repair technician friend of mine called to service an expensive studio mix board that was being modified by the studio owner. Tech asked studio owner; "Before you power it up, are you sure you know what you are doing?' Owner said "Yes". Tech: "Okay, its your board sir." Owner powers up his mix board then all 96 channels of his $million dollar SSL mix board blow up in sequence, one at a time, smoke rising over each channel one at a time. Next, tech was hired to fix it (after it stopped smoking). He made a lot of $ off that guy.

      I have seen them around my local stores. You might have something near you as well. The thing comes in handy, you probably wouldn't be upset if you bought one.

    Is there a way to edit data that are saved into database or to send wrong data?

    • @IllInformedHuman
      @IllInformedHuman 6 місяців тому

      You can edit what is on your card using this method. You wouldn't be able to effect the database that references the card.

      @@IllInformedHuman Can we make a clone card that sends data for entry and exit in a same time for example and to make 8hours difference in between entry and exit. ?

      @@oxynnyxo2763 It sounds like you want to change something on the Database side of the card reader. Most card reading systems only record when the card was swiped by a reader and which reader. Forcing the reader to change what time it read a card is not possible from the reader itself. You would need database access to alter that.

    The easiest way to keep snow out of the windshield wiper valley is use a windshield cover it covers the opening and keeps the valley clean no worries of it getting filled with snow and you do not need to raise the wipers I have not had any problem with snow here in Ontario Canada
