INDIAN DINNER [DINEN INDIEN] in Vieux-Fort Saint Lucia

It’s Creole Heritage Month. Let’s not forget that Indian cultural practices are part of Saint Lucia’s Creole Heritage.
As the older generation moves on, traditions practiced here in the past are slowly dying and disappearing.
One such tradition is called Dinen Indien, Indian Dinner, a ceremonial event used to honor the departed.
It is possible that Calabash TV may have filmed the final such event. It took place in Vieux-Fort and was hosted by Urania Kadoo.
