I find it so funny how the main character literally receives text messages from god; like no angels, no voice from the heavens, no fiery bushes, just a phone and text messages
RT pulling out multiple shinies after having a "stroke of luck" has the same energy as Minecraft UA-camrs having full stacks of diamonds after doing "a bit of grinding off-screen".
Diamond-grinding is just a matter of _time,_ really. An hour's strip-mining session usually yields more than enough for a full set of diamond gear, including armor and tools. Shiny-hunting? It's supposed to be a rare occurrence, though clearly not in _this_ game.
16:24 'This ice is said to be fragments of ancient Avalugg that lived long ago'. So we're just going to toss it's long-dead brethren at it. This totally seems okay and not at all messed up.
I love how in the first part of this series, RT was saying that this game shouldn't be compared to Dark Souls, but now he's actively making comparisons wherever he can.
This game is the equivalent of whenever someone says if they got sent back in time they'd be able to take over the world with their modern knowledge, except Granddad is actually successful.
Plus after you’re done saving the world Arceus just texts you again in the middle of the night saying “Seek out all Pokemon”. No “Good job” no nothing. Just “Get back to work!”
RT to the chat: "Come on, in and out, 20 minute sidetrack" *hours later, he returns with three shinies and more of the map unlocked by skyrim Wyrdeering. everyone is dead.*
Imagine saving an entire village, being overworked, and forced to risk your life only for the leader to be like: Until you save the world you aren’t welcome.
RT there's a secret quest. If you go to the Crimson Mirelands there's Adaman, and you can battle him. If you win, you get a special crystal which can transform Dialga. If you go to the Pearl Settlement instead, you can find Irida and get Palkia to their special form too. PS. The mildly irritated "seek out all pokemon" god sent you after the game implies that the main quest actually had nothing to do with god's goal, and actually Arceus was just sitting back impatiently while you were saving the world, waiting for you to seek out that wurmple hiding in the bushes.

After finding his way back to civilization, the young man kept his promise, and one day he met, fell in love with, and married a beautiful woman. Years later, when the two had had children, the man grew distant as he remembered what had happened to him all those years ago. When his wife asked him what was wrong, he told her about the Yuki-Onna, only for his wife to reveal that she was that same Yuki-Onna. Seing you getting sidetracked is very entertaining but also very relatable, i might have spent a good 2 hours wondering around as space-time was litteraly falling apart, had a lot of fun
Watching this made me realize something. Beni is Wally's ancestor and he talks about how their last home was destroyed by Pokemon. So there's a possibility Kamado and Beni came from Hoenn and witnessed Primals Groudon and Kyogre battling. He does also talk afterwards about finding a more agreeable climate post game, so the other option could be they came from Unova when Kyurem was loose.
The free camera during battles has to be one of the most underused sources of comedy in this game, you can just… walk up to your enemy. Like wtf why is that so hilarious
That cutscene with Avalugg has got to be _T H E_ coolest scene The games have ever put together. Something about it exudes an atmosphere that I never thought Pokemon would do. I have no way to explain why I feel this way, so the rest of this comment will be a haphazard attempt to figure that out, and justify my brazen statement lmao. Feel free to correct any of what I'm about to suggest. My guess is that, no mainline pokemon game _successfully_ makes you feel small. As much as I love BW/B2W2, all the 2D games and their chibi representations of the characters and pokemon immediately makes it hard to feel intimidated by the size of Legendaries and such. And the 3D games have always had a bit of an issue with appearing sort of... lifeless. Whether its the story surrounding the reveals of giant pokemon, or a generally bland execution, I feel pokemon never did a good job of making you feel tiny in the face of a _giant monster._ Which is ironic considering SwSh were all about having giant pokemon. Here's the thing, I haven't played SwSh, _or_ Legends Arceus, and Avalugg's reveal just felt _so_ much more compelling to me than Eternatus' reveal. Other comparable scenes to me would be Deoxys' special reveal in ORAS, and maybe the final battle with Lusamine after fusing with Nihilego or whatever. And even then, Avalugg just generally _felt_ like a more intimidating beast, Gamefreak finally nailed one out of the park with this one.
Yeah, I think that was the first time I've seen a Pokémon game show you VISUALLY that its legendary was connected to their theme. I feel like most of the other reveals tend to be 'oh yeah this is the Pokémon of *insert cool thing here*' and just show them moving about in a cutscene, whereas with the Avalugg reveal it really felt like you had awakened the environment itself.
Swsh was my first actual pokemon game, and it was good enough, I enjoyed the pokemon designs and I liked building my team and spending time with them. It was an alright game. Didn’t make me feel much of anything though- I can barely remember the main twist of the game lmao. Legends arceus has just absolutely nailed the feel I think swsh was going for. All the frenzied noble fights felt so grand and intimidating (i mean, maybe minus the angry ball guy, that pokemon made me chuckle). And holy shit, towards the end of the main story, you’re made to feel so small, weak, and unimportant, the commander can just banish you because he wants to, and the other clans wont dare to take you in and risk starting conflict. It really made me feel like a kid, stuck in an unfamiliar world i thought i knew, with only a few outcasts and my loyal pokemon supporting me. Walking around outside Cogita’s home felt so bizarre. The music, the colours, the loneliness. This game isnt all that deep, but it really pushes the story just enough to be impactful. Though I have a lot of complaints about the execution of a lot of the graphics, the art direction still manages to stir up emotions in the player. Aghh legends arceus is just a wonderful game, and as my second pokemon game, the series has gone waaay up in my books.
45:58 Dialga and Palkia have stupid high catch rates for legendaries for whatever reason. You can catch them fairly easily even with regular Poke Balls.
If this game series didn't start with leaving your house all the time, you would think your parents in this case would have been extremely confused with whatever happened with you this time.
@@--TechHead-- Considering he also talked about getting a "Tarrot reading" a few streams back, I could believe it. It's a wonder Akia hasn't _strangled_ him yet.
20:14 The exact same situation happened to me. When he went up to Volo and jokingly asked “Are you Giratina?” Is absolutely hilarious in hindsight
Seing you getting sidetracked is very entertaining but also very relatable, i might have spent a good 2 hours wondering around as space-time was litteraly falling apart, had a lot of fun
I love that you seemed to forget that you caught Dialga, and you were convinced Palkia would be caught in a cutscene
"Have you tried a horse from Skyrim" - RT's Solution to climbing the unclimbable.
i would like to reiterate myself, RT is such a god that he can simply will shinys into existence
Shiny are simply way easier to come by in this game
I’ve gotten 7 already (before getting the shiny charm)
Watching this made me realize something. Beni is Wally's ancestor and he talks about how their last home was destroyed by Pokemon. So there's a possibility Kamado and Beni came from Hoenn and witnessed Primals Groudon and Kyogre battling. He does also talk afterwards about finding a more agreeable climate post game, so the other option could be they came from Unova when Kyurem was loose.
Having just finished end game there’s a lot more left over so it’ll be fun watching Dan go through that.
Immediate click. God I love this series so much.
*Arceus I love this series*
Arceus loves this series too
Same.
same
The free camera during battles has to be one of the most underused sources of comedy in this game, you can just… walk up to your enemy. Like wtf why is that so hilarious
"This ice is said to be fragments of ancient Avalugg that lived long ago."
Avalugg is a cannibal, I see.
"mr. rumble tumble, you are on trial for several counts of murder. how do you plead?"
"who's to say?"
"I'm not gonna get side tracked this time guys!!"
-precedes to get side tracked
Now let's see the Alpha Wailord reveal
"Are you giratina?" to Volo is a VERY RT thing to ask. Almost Scary Game Squad levels of figuring out the entire plot of until dawn 5 minutes in.
Aw shit, I spoiled myself. Good thing I always thought he was sus.
Once you get to the post game he starts acting kinda sus so I could tell like 35 minutes before the actual part.
@@thejinxedcat3616 my adhd intuition was set off instantly by this team instinct lookin ass
I haven't played GO in years but I'm offended at this statement @@Nixahma
53:41 I don’t think I’ve ever heard that in one of RT’s videos before, but it sure does fit the moment!
I wont judge dan, I explored the whole of the icelands before doing the story (mostly for zorua)
“Don’t cross the river don’t cross the river” sums up RT’s sidetracking ridiculously well
You gotta love the audacity of putting half the game after the credits
The Johto strategy

Dialga and Palkia have stupid high catch rates for legendaries for whatever reason. You can catch them fairly easily even with regular Poke Balls.
It's scripted. Wouldn't make a difference anyway, the game looks extremely easy.
@Scrittle you actually got ratio’s lollllll bruh
If this game series didn't start with leaving your house all the time, you would think your parents in this case would have been extremely confused with whatever happened with you this time.
From opening cinematic to closing credits: "Survey _Corpse."_
That _English Major_ was money well-spent, huh?
Technically the word "corps" is derived from French, so it might not quite have been covered in class!
no the survey is dead
Hey, they learn to read and write, not to speak!
@@--TechHead-- Considering he also talked about getting a "Tarrot reading" a few streams back, I could believe it. It's a wonder Akia hasn't _strangled_ him yet.
@@Nieck7654 Of old age, given Dan's penchant for getting hopelessly sidetracked.
20:14 The exact same situation happened to me. Climbed up with Sneasler, was attacked on the way up, the attacker wouldn't de-aggro, resummoning a ride pokémon was prohibited and I couldn't get back without copping a death.
Luckily, saving and quitting both de-aggroed the pokémon and returned me to full health so I could jump back down without dying.
thank you editor Chloe and Rt for the quick output of these vids! ^^
I like how RT asked Volo “Are you Giratina?” while choosing which character will help
RT's distraction to shiny hunt and not progress the main story is me when I have a math test due and I just... Continue to do the dishes and not do it whatsoever. Then I do English. And you know what I haven't practice guitar yet-
I remember feeling so angry when disaster looming started... I felt so much better with the humor you provided there! Im still bitter from my playthrough
Why you felt bitter?
@@psychospeech6189 spent a lot of time helping the villagers but they wouldnt help the player. Genuinely felt betrayed.
I can’t wait to see how he reacts to Cynthia Senior’s fight and his best friend the ghost dragon, now with new and improved phase two
Granddad is still in the past, Ingo is still in the past and can't remember his brother, and you can't take a pic of the thanks for playing end screen art. Good game but sad ending could have been cool if you used dialga so travel forwards and backwards into time.
“This series has a funny catchphrase, doesn’t it?”
“WHO’S TO SAY??”
he' got the right mix pf irreverent and genuinely excited.
editing is on point.
and the game is surprisingly innovative, for a pokemon game
Whenever I see a shiny Ponyta I always remember about a history of a guy who found one and thought it was a missigno, he immediately turned the gameboy off...
"Is [Cogita] Volo's mom or something?"
They never confirm it, but that's certainly my headcanon!
Most people have settled on her being his aunt, which is also possible. The two look too similar to not be related.
Also...
RT: Can we pick Giratina? *to Volo* Are you Giratina?
Me: *laughs in spoilers*
I don't say WHAT Dan predicted, but he literally predicted the post-game plot and it's just proving once again he just knows everything
(Don't spoil in the comments either!)
Fun fact: the two Luxio parents that the Shinx goes back to are both male (the females have a slightly different model), so GameFreak canonically said gay rights
The ochawott line is by far my favorite, and I am very glad you treat them with the respect they deserve :D

6:33 Gaeric tells Granddad to get "that Eternal Ice [Avalugg] likes"
16:25 The flavor text says "This ice is said to be fragments of ancient Avalugg that lived long ago."
Avalugg is canonically a cannibal in this official Pokemon game
Beni is actually wally's ancestor you can tell because his ninja outfit is like wally's in the pokemon adventures manga
Also the hair is kind of a tip-off.

snowball fight with the kid who takes it too seriously and starts throwing icicles
There are three endings:
The one now: Dialga and Palkia
The one later: Giritina
Finishing the Pokedex: Arceus
The Ultra ball you threw was Dialga’s ball. Basically you attempted to battle Palkia, not catch it with the Origin ball.
I've found 2 shinies not counting the ponyta, then this man rolls up with a team of shinies
I thought the guaranteed shiny was a psyduck
That screeching from Froslass really was disturbing. they did a great job with that.
The alternate forms for Dialga and Palkia actually make a lot of sense when you look at best god Giratina. It also has a normal form and a special one it uses in its domain so the other two must have their own forms in their proper domains as well
Ohhhhhhhh!
