- Опубліковано 21 сер 2024
- The final Ringling Brothers And Barnum & Bailey Circus train to Cincinnati was filmed going through the Lambs Ferry Tunnel at Ryland Heights Kentucky on 3-7-17. The first shot is northbound through the tunnel. The second shot is a few miles north of the tunnels at Spring Lake Kentucky. The outro shows them going through the yard at Decoursey Ky and then over the huge trestle into Cincinnati Ohio crossing the Ohio River. Track maintenance held the train up for hours. I filmed the track maintenance equipment for another video. Thanks for watching! Please comment, rate and of course SUBSCRIBE TO JAWTOOTH!!

Great video Brian. One of your best!!! Love the tunnels. Can't wait to get up there in June.
I'm looking forward to you coming up! We'll have a good time!
Millenniumforce hey
Millenniumforce congrats on 100,000
Thank you
Millenniumforce hi
End of an Era. Sad, sad, sad... I will miss them deeply.😢... Thanks for waiting out there in cold rain & thanks for posting this.
So
Thank You very much Jaw Tooth. That was very generous of you. A lot of people, myself included, appreciate you efforts in capturing this very historic but sad moment. A 142 year tradition will be no more. Hope you didn't catch a cold from standing in the rain!
I appreciate your comments. I didn't catch a cold but when I filmed the train leaving on March 20, it started raining even harder and I got soaked. Thanks for watching! Here is the video where I got soaked filming the circus train: ua-cam.com/video/JNWwlSwzseg/v-deo.html
Thanks Brian for this funeral train video. As an adult 69 y/o i never once give it a thought that the circus train would ever retire, it just doesn't seem right that children can not enjoy this circus and the train, they went together just like the Royal American Carnival. There is no Six Flags could ever replace the dirt pathways and generator noise of the Royal American and the animal walk of the Ringling Brothers circus down a blocked street in the city. Thanks again.
Seems like I've watched something very special here , thanks for sharing ......Peter
Thanks, Brain.. I know your pain.. The things we railfans do to get the shot.. Well worth the effort on your part and much appreciated on ours for another You-nique and one-of-a-kind video.
As of May 24, 2017, the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus train will
never run again in official capacity.....how sad! I was fortunate to see the
RBB&B circus train run thru my hometown of Jennings La about once
every year....all I have now is my memories of the circus train...and this
great video!!
The end of an Era I watched that beautiful circus as a kid in New York at the old Madison Square Garden, Thanks for the video.
We have taken our kids and grand kids to the circus every year in Cincinnati since the late 90s. we will miss it also. Thanks for watching my video!
Thank you for making this video. I'm a former Red Unit Showgirl, Aerialist and Elephant Rider. I went to the Nassau Veterans Coliseum to see the last show along with many other former RBBB Circus Performers. This video brings back wonderful memories of living on the Circus Train and performing with "THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH" !!! Sincere thanks ; )
I was an stage person for dimitry of RING 2 and i miss it so much if anyone from RINGLING IS OUT THERE. PLEASE CONTACT

Nice Video of this last Circus Train. Sad to hear it is all headed into history. I took my family to Baraboo Wi back around 1985 to see all their old historical equipment. Very good trip and was nice to visit there. Thanks again for sharing your photography.
Every time the circus came to Chicago, it would always stay on a siding in a Union Pacific yard right down the street from my house. Even if people didn't have a love for trains, everyone would go to the local overpass to get a grand view of it. RIP. Great shots as always BTW.
It amazes me that it takes a train that large to move a circus. I'm disappointed that none of the animals were visible, though. Thanks for suffering through the rain to catch that historic train. 😊😊

I never realized how long these circus trains are. Great catch of history.
Metalrails i know this is 2 years late, but I believe the ringling bros train is about a mile long
The train is a city with a zip code. It housed all performers , staff, animals, equipment, machine shop, car hauler and the pie car. Truly one big family on a moving city. :-( They were over a mile long. And usually parked in the area with the biggest pothole, mini lakes LOL
Glad you were able to catch the circus train and share it with us here.I heard on the radio this morning that it was in town and I immediately thought of you and the fact that you said that you were going to video it.It sure was a sloppy day for you.I very much enjoy this video.
Thanks for your efforts.
Another piece of Americana soon to be gone forever. Truly a damn shame.
Beautiful video. Im glad I found it by accident. The trailer is very long. The tunnel is gorgeous. Glad you got it on film.
Thank you for sharing a final piece of american history with us .
A great and rare catch. Excellent video Brian.
That's amazing I never realized how long the train actually was it's sad to see it ending
Tremendous catch sir! The circus train was truly a rolling village, self contained. It was sad and symbolic to see it for the last time as it disappeared into the tunnel.
Glad I'm not the only geek out there chasing trains :-D
Thanks for capturing this. I don't think that there would be a historical record otherwise.
Thank you! I got them leaving also. I chased them from Cincinnati all the way to almost Portsmouth Ohio. I plan on getting the last one in West Virginia in May
I worked this job from Cleveland, OH to Indianapolis, IN back in 2000. Had the best Philly steak and cheese sandwich from their kitchen. Great people to work with!
Thanks for sharing. So sad to see the end of the circus and circus train.
Thanks for standing in the rain in order to preserve this moment for us Brian! Great shots!! This train will be sorely missed. Cheers, Dan
Danny Holt h
Thanks for getting this on video, it's a historic moment.
Wow, seeing that very long train rolling towards the tunnel under the rain was something quite epic. Nice filming!
something about a circus train is just special
I grew up near where Barnum had a place in NJ. The train would stop and the animals would be walked down the road to his property when they weren't doing shows.
Thanks Brian, you've caught a piece of history nice work!

nice video loved it. long train too.
Saw it come through Dayton, Ohio. It was an amazing feature...! You rock.
Thanks for your dedication to recording history
Use to see this train parked in Secaucus NJ back in the day. The circus would play the Meadowlands in NJ.
Rest in peace Ringling Brothers. We still have in our work bulletins how to handle the circus train cars and what people to contact to make circus train movements efficient. I guess the bulletins will be removed when operations completely shut down and the cars are taken to their home terminal.
Sure am gonna miss the circus.
I once saw the Ringling train a long time ago. It was cool. It was kinda like the scene in Dumbo.
Excellent video !!
Awesome Video & Catch. it's sad to see this awesome train go & to say goodbye.
It was nice to see CSX. I live near a CSX train and it might be the tracks from NJ to NY that could possibly have taken the Ringling bros train too.
the bobcat on the back is funny
The Greatest Show on Earth!.... Gone.....
Awesome video! Nice work. Shame the circus is shutting down...
Thanks for sharing this historical moment 👍🏼😊
I can't wait to catch this once it comes my way! It will only be the second time ive caught it.
Cool catch of the circus train, like it
Absolutely breaks my heart to watch this is a Cincinnati native and resident that has lived on that train I NEVER thought I would see the day this would happen.
wow, 6 hours. Thats dedication, and in the rain! I wonder what they are going to do with all that equipment.
I would feel honoured to drive that train.
Very nice jawtooth that was cool keep it up and have a nice day
Love those old GRS gate mechanisms there at the first crossing, along with that MI mechanical bell! Shame the original 8 inch lights were replaced with LEDs. Nice catch! The L&N signals at the next one are great as well, even if the lights and bell were replaced! At least it still retains the original GRS gate mechs!
Great video Brian! Thumbs up!!!!
Thomas
And the crowd goes wild!!!
There was a complete photo line set up! LOl
Keep these train videos going, because I enjoy watching them. Thank you Jawtooth.
Thanks, will do!
Cool Dash 8s!
thanks for sharing
I watched that train rolling north through Kalamazoo Michigan this spring, & it had several more buses & heavy equipment on board. It seems like it was longer also.
the ringling bros train and more trailer train is #1
J T i check all your videos and this very special for great memories thanks
Glad you like them!
Nice! Glad you got them! Got this same train when it left Atlanta on the W&A and Etowah Subdivisions. LOVE those spots as well!
I remember when I thought trains pulling big animals was very unrealistic. But then Barnum and Bailey came up in my reccomended.
Stay out of the rain. 😎 Cool CSX & train action, and Railroad History.
• Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂
None of Wisconsin's tunnels are operational. They were shut down, in fact one caved in. The others are now for trail use only.
Very neat to see
thanks mack
Well done you have made railway history with this epic video .Stan April 9th 2017 United Kingdom .
great video mate left a 👍82
It is sad to see part of my childhood like this. I mean the old DeCoursey Yard.... I spent many hours watching the switching and humping there.
good job friend...greetings
Thx for sharing. It's historic! ✌🏽
nice video
They're making a comeback in 2022 and 2023
Ha Brian that was Amazing to see yes the wetter was here also rain in Noord holland, lol the length from the train was almost the same as the Australian Ghan.from Adelaide to Darwin. greetz:Peerke. thanks.
What a shame that their is gonna be no more circus trains there
Very Interesting! I have never seen one like that!
This is the last time it will be here. They stop running the circus train at the end of May and then the railroad cars will be auctioned off. I plan on filming the last one in May in West Virginia. Thanks for watching!
+Jaw Tooth : WELCOME! I did not know that RINGLING BROTHERS or BARNUM & BAILEY were still in business! Those circus groups have been around over 100 years! .....Does this mean they are going out of business or just that they are not going to use trains anymore?
I love that they were a Ford family!
I like train videos on UA-cam jawtooth 👍
Funny how the lights turn off when the gates rise
Yeah. Talk about railroad crossing malfunctions. The lights go off before the gates go back up, and the warning bells stop when the gates are down. This is something to address to the railroad that runs this R.O.W.. I see they installed new rails and ties, but they didn't test the signals, that's a NO-GO.
When the bells stop when the gates goes down is not wrong.
In California the lights turn off when the gates rise. Also, the bell keeps ringing the entire time while the gates are down, unlike the crossings here.
+Trainzguy 2472 Our crossings never stop until the gates go up and most of them only ring when they are going down.
#ReviveRBBB this does not have to be the end!
Another great video
Thanks again!
I saw the Ringling Bros when I was a child and what a great show it was! I never realized what that meant to the animal's and how more unscupulous Circus's abused them. Actually B and B had 2 Circus units and trains...
They had the Blue Circus and the Red Circus. I saw both and filmed both trains
Spirit of West Virginia
Nice Video 👍
thanks for shareing the circus train I think to cinci.ohio.
cool video bro
I sure miss that Circus train. I'm gonna cherish these cars through Run 8 train simulator.
Reminds me of my X,she loved too pull a train! lol
Good video greetings
I got to see this train go through London, Ky ,
nice-I watched all and i put a like on this too
Great!
I seen it on the old 32 Tressel going into piketon Ohio one time it had a CSX and an old Chessie System GP9 movers
good bye ringling bros and train that pulled them.i'll miss you and the fact i never got to see the train in person once
man it really sucks that the ringling bros decided to stop with the train
What is going to happen to these amazing old railcars? I hope they don't get scrapped.
They were sold off by bids. Know someone who got a few to add to his railroad. The stipulation was that the logos/decals had to be removed.
Im surprised that those two locomotives pulled all that
terrible that the PC crowd and Peta shut them down
Earl Wright not entirely the circus museum in Wisconsin still goes on with the show
Live action!
*Jaw Tooth Express*
*Nice Video !*
