    I'm a software engineer and I tried adhd meds after talking to a psychiatrist & getting a prescription. I felt no upside, it just gave me anxiety a couple hours after taking it. So I just have the pills there just collecting dust. I did feel like I could focus slightly (10-20%) better, but the anxiety afterwards wasn't worth it. If you go to the gym you may understand the kind of anxiety I felt. Here, take 2 cups of pre-workout and don't go to the gym, instead, stay home and work. I had the same experience. For me LSD makes me think more into the deep which can be helpful if you have problems you are thinking about, while Iboga for example offers more the awareness to how I programmed myself throughout my life, so it shows me my ego. Ketamine, even though I know it's not really a psychedelic and more a dissociative, allows you to really turn off your mind, which mostly is your ego anyway, in the sense that you can exist purely in the moment with a more or less quiet head (depending on the dose, too). Combining all of this, especially once last year in a phase where I tried to intentionally not think because I remembered that that's what Zen Buddhism is about, I had some really intense and profound experiences.

    The best brain hack is to have a nice adapted nutrition plan, quality sleep, cardio and weight lifting, good habits in general; eating shrooms and trying different psychedelics won't make you a genius, I can relate. Cold showers liberates norepinephrine, having sex increases dopamine, running liberates endorphins; there are so many cheap and healthy options; taking psychedelics takes money, time and even in a proper consumption dosage and environment, it may lead to unexpected behavioral shifts, since it changes the neural connections. Plus in the case of synthetic drugs, the odds are that you don't know what you are really given, and even some psychedelics are neurodegenerative.

    I've taken adderall for about 2 years now. Started middle of high school and into college. Best case scenario (given I eat and sleep properly, and take doses at regular intervals) is I feel willing to do whatever comes next. I feel motivated and ready. Basically helping me with my primary issue which is a lack of that (ADHD). I do experience a little bugginess (feel my heart beating, bouncing legs, etc) but usually not much more than that. Adderall does NOT make me feel smarter as if I can solve more complex problems than I normally would be capable of. BUT, it does make me *feel* like I can do anything. If I had a hard problem to solve, I would at least *feel* that I could solve it with some hard work, and more importantly I had the motivation to do that. For example: realizing you have a bunch of homework to do, you pull up the first document and immediately get hit with "hoooly shit I gotta look up soo much for this, there's so much writing I have to do, this will take me like two hours." On adderall, you just think "I could totally get this done within then next hour if I try hard enough, ezpz lets get it." And it may take you 1.5 hours, and it might make you a little sad that you couldn't get it done sooner, but you got it done, and that makes you feel good. Then you feel like "alright whats next", as you pull up the next assignment ready to knock it out.
    I don't like taking drugs, and having that feeling normally would be absolutely heaven for me. However, adderall still has side effects that hit me from time to time, usually insomnia. I've been interested in switching to Modafinil, as it's a much more refined version of adderall as some put it. I'm interested in microdosing shrooms as well, since those are basically harmless. I just want to be more productive with my time. I do struggle with productivity already, and I definitely take responsibility for that instead of just blaming ADHD and fixing it with drugs. But it is an avenue for improvement, and if the risk is low enough it may very well be worth a shot.
    Don't get me wrong though, first things first - eat and sleep well, stop excessive p*rn usage, limit or eliminate social media (whatever usually glues you to the screen), do all that for at least 40 days and at that point you may not even need drugs. Things will change.

    • @GloriousGrunt
      @GloriousGrunt Рік тому +1

      "I could totally get this done within then next hour if I try hard enough, ezpz lets get it." Do you think you could form this as a habit naturally off adderall now that you have been doing this for a while and know the results?

    • @MicroplaysMC
      @MicroplaysMC Рік тому +7

      @@GloriousGrunt I've tried keeping the train going many times, but unfortunately the stimulation wears off and you get slower and slower at the task. It's still doable, but you start to get distracted easily again. I'd say it certainly helps if you keep going, but personally I reach a point (usually sundown) where I'm progressing slow enough and feel exhausted enough that I call it a day. Better to get rest and do the task in prime.
      The feeling isn't something you can pull into your normal life. Not for me anyway, but I wouldn't say it's impossible. It's a question of how much you can actually change your brain to get as close as possible to this state. You can replicate it to a degree by taking some sugar in liquid form and then doing some exercise when it hits you (and maybe listen to music that pumps you up), that rush you get from the endorphins is a similar feeling. But how sustainable is something like that? That feeling doesn't always transfer to mental work either. Personally caffeine doesn't help me focus at all, just anxiety and jitters, Adderall just amplifies it and adds insomnia.
      I will say that compared to 2 years ago I HAVE improved at continuing the task. Starting is the most difficult but if I can get started I usually progress at an acceptable rate. I still get distracted, but sufficient discipline helps me keep going.
      This improvement I'd attribute to things that promote abstinence, the opposite of seeking stimulation. I have done meditation (which super helps with irritability) and sugar/dopamine/social media fasting. It's not complicated, there isn't a specific formula or ritual involved. The idea is that doing these things helps you to stop seeking stimulation so violently and so often. Your brain is constantly itching for stimulation, that's why ADHD people often are hyper, they find ways to stimulate themselves with their behavior. Works somewhat well until they have to sit still. Catch yourself every single time you reach for your phone for no good reason, that's that itch.
      All in all, the best you can do (as far as I can tell) is lower that itching habit of needing stimulation, just learn to chill out. Be ok with sitting still, take a slow deep breath, focus. Very similar to meditation. Helps calm you down in life in general too, highly recommend.
      The more you train yourself to avoid these itches, do it for 30 days minimum, the less you'll feel those itches. Those itches ARE THE VERY THING that distract you when trying to work. But you are rewiring your brain so you HAVE to do it somewhat consistently for many weeks.
      I used to almost not need Adderall in HS, but I have recently worsened because my current college is super easy and I relax too much and develop that itch again. My previous college however gave me so much work that I didn't have a moment to waste. Having that feeling of "I got no time I need to do this ASAP" really helps with the deadline mode, that's what kept me going for hours while taking normal doses.
      One last thought: because starting the task is the hardest thing, that technique of saying "ok I only have to read one slide at a time" really helps. Just one page, one question at a time. No commitment to do the entire assignment, just one question, then one more, etc.
      Hope this is all helpful :)

      @pixl2286 Рік тому

      @@GloriousGrunt I can't speak for him but I have a very similar experience to the OC. A key difference is drug usage, I do smoke weed. A common effect of ADHD is increased anxiety, because people with ADHD have a hard time focusing their attention to the things they need to do/take care of, and the anxiety is a way to cope with that, just attach the anxiety to the thing you need to remember.
      OC put it well that with Adderall it becomes a thing of feeling motivated and ready, I completely agree with that assessment. Dopamine is a huge part in ADHD and the Adderall does provide a certain level of that. I don't take my Adderall every day, I probably only take it half the time or even less, but I also don't live a demanding life style. I also make sure to spend days without either substance. Those days can be very slow, but also very insightful. Yes, it becomes very hard to focus, and that's what the day is going to be like, and that's the point. Like meditation, when you run with your thoughts, you just explore them. You're going to not know what to do at first on those days when you're losing focus, but it's important to just see what you can do on your own without it.
      At the same time, I don't think you should cut it out completely. You should experiment with reducing it, with experiencing days without it, but cutting it out will just force your brain to cope somehow, and our brain is really good at discreetly coping in ways that are unhealthy for the long term, and if you really have ADHD then it really is helping. Teach your brain that you can't just take Adderall when you need to focus, but it is an excellent key. You need to be able to lock the pick to the door, just incase you don't have the key, but as long as you are frequently refreshing, refining, and even improving that skill, you can use the key every other time.

    Good video Aaron. I believe there are 5 simple practices to living a long healthy life and delaying aging: (01) Eat well by cooking all your meals from scratch using ingredients that are not chemically treated, (02) Exercise regularly, (03) Have a positive attitude regarding all things in life - the good and bad times, (04) Always treat yourself good. Be good to yourself. Forgive yourself. (05) Treat others good. Never take advantage of somebody just because you can, or because you're smarter than them. . . . You can literally write a very long book on each of these 5 points. This is just barely scratching the surface. . . All these drugs people are taking in a desperate attempt to remain young, be more creative, enhance focus and intelligence is foolish in my estimation. In the end, there will be negative consequences. . . Again, good video. . . Thank you sir.

    When you've been working on a problem for awhile (focused thinking) and its time to sit back and let your brain do some work in the background (diffuse thinking), that's when its time to take psychedelics. It works with what's already in your mind. Relax, put your feet up and ponder your problem, you will be amazed at what new connections your mind makes, it loosens barriers allowing you to see things you would not otherwise have seen. A lot of it will be seen as nonsense when having come back down to normal reality, still write it all down, amongst the nonsense you may find something of value.

Was taking pure MDMA once in a year or twice to make my ideas and mindset reset. DMT also is a great material to go see things totally different or when you have no emotions left. I have never micro dosed because I think taking a substance every day will not improve your mind in the long run and will actually make the body ask the missing substance when you are trying to quit. Withdraws are the most horrible things that exist and trust me, they will only help you feel worse and worse in the long run and sober is the way to go for me tbh. In context of health and sports medicine benefits etc. it's finding ways for meaningful application of this gene editing that's being tested, not CRISPR/Cas9 itself.
    Good to note though, that hypothetically it's very effective at what it does, and it's uses have already been shown in zygote studies, but with major ethical concerns it's been quite hard to bring forward in actual human experimentation.

    The effects of adderall makes sense. I’m an artist and naturally creative, I’m like a human generator and can use almost any concept to my advantage for a new story or drawing. However complex problem solving
    with maths and science leaves me at a loss, math (beyond basic algebra and money sense) has always been an obstacle no matter how hard I studied, memorization was the biggest issue as I constantly struggled to retain the multitude of functions in my head at once and would often apply them incorrectly.
    The one and ONLY time I passed a math course with straight A’s was when experimenting with addy one semester in college. Suddenly everything ‘connected’, the concepts and how to implement them made perfect sense.
    However the unfortunate downside was that it hindered my creativity, it was actually kind of disturbing, as if information I had known for years was suddenly locked away from me. I had difficulty with not only idea generation but color theory, inking techniques, etc. damnnear felt I forgot how to draw!
    Art is important to me, so I sacrificed being a math savant. 😅

    I have asperger syndrome and paranoid schizophrenia, and i can focus more than the average, my senses are sharp and other things, but that because the autism make me more sensitive to the external enviroment, also the schizophrenia have a similar effect to some drugs, so for me instead to take drugs to have better attention, my drugs are focused on stop the conections in my brain.
    So i can teorically say most of those drugs of biohacking the brain, the thing they do is a pseudo schizophrenia, wich means they got similar effects but not as hard, at least at the start, these symptoms help to focus, and analize data not only thinking on it but feeling it, watching it and have some crossed neuron cells, the problem is that the human brain is not designed for that type of charge, so it is like putting gasoline with more octanes in a normal car motor, and overclock that motor, the motor it is just not designed to that rythm, and end up in the thrash sooner.
    I have to take medication because my body stops sleeping, stops eating, and have an incredible amount of energy, but that only backfire my health, so i need to take the medication to sleep and not have an attack because of lack of sleep, food and good brain conections.
    I expect to people do not try to be a 10x in what they do, they only are going to backfire their health and when they reach certain age the backfire is just gonna be so hard that they are gonna feel like a 60 year old person when they are below 35 years old.
    I have some teachers in the gym, and one of them is a pretty strong man, but he just go with a physical rehabilitation specialist and the rehab guy just say to him that he had almost broke some bones of his back because he lift too much, then my teacher said that it was not worth it if he is in danger to be put in a wheelchair, he said that i need to go with a rehab and ask for my body limits because on the older age there are not too much people who are gonna lift you as you need, even if there is someone who do it, it is better to have most autonomy than depend on others in the daily life.
    I just do not recommend anything that cause schizophrenia, when you cross the border and your brain start intoxicating yourself the only way to maintain you alive is taking meds to cool down your brain, being able to overclock your brain just have a backfire on the body and in the brain, but some people does not expect to feel it, but when tehy feel it the thing have gone over their control or over the flag to be normal again.
    I have not used drugs to that, it is just my autism and my family genetics that are most likely to have schizophrenia, if i take ADHD meds i gonna burn my brain and mostly die at that moment. That is to have more connections on the brain and "see" the data and information, it is not worth because even when you go to sleep you can feel and see the data and can not stop, only the meds stop you, the problems just got bigger.
    I have 13 years since i had my first psychotic attack, and today is the day i can say i still do not have a normal life, yes i can analyze more data than other people, yes i can over focus, but i end up burn at the end of the day, and need medication to sleep and to feel hungry, i have just speedrun some code challenges but can not work in a company because the medication some times make me sleep 9 hours and other times i sleep 18 hours, and in the changes of medication sometimes i sleep 24 hours, only get up to eat something and go back to sleep.
    i hope people here read this and stop wanting to have allucinations to have a better perfomance.
    note: if you want to do that without a backfire, you are gonna need a better brain, and with a better brain i mean better neuron cells, better chemicals and an optimized conections, but that will mean that your body will have better cells and best chemicals, it is like a pc or a car, you need better equipment to not explode your car, or better electronics to deal faster and better with the data, but at this point of time someting like that just does not exist right now.

    I took piracetam for the first time 15 years ago. If there was any cognitive enhancement - it was subtle at best not immediately noticable. Then again, I was freshly 18 and didn't have any real need to take it.

    here’s a cheat code: get in hypnagogic state while watching programing concepts or tutorials. you’ll end up dreaming about it and the language will kinda configure itself in the back of your head and you’ll eventually start thinking in python, js(lol ew), c, etc

    provigil is ok, but caffeine is what I can't do without. no one I know on HGH looks younger lol, they look like hell. problem with provigil is when you get tired later in the day you get exhausted. like you burned all your gas and your reserves.

    I think all in all psychedelics are generally harmless when micro dosing although I've only micro dosed mushrooms, I wouldn't be able to tell you if doing it with LSD is any different like the guy mentioned, could be it's easier to take too much than with mushrooms. I can definitely see there being harm if one were to accidentally macro dose. In terms of the effects when doing it at the correct dose, things feel all in all normal, just a little more euphoric with a noticeable reduction in mental boundaries, so things you would over think are turned into actual ideas, and yes definitely more creative. That's just my experience, I think it's probably better than popping a bunch of pills not know what the effects could be down the line. I started doing it for different reasons though, it's also supposed to have benefits for depression and anxiety.
