I thought I was and bought a few Trayvax wallets. I just don’t use them anymore. The metal pointy bits just annoy me too much. I still like metal though.
I'm NOT a metal wallet person, but I may turn into one watching your videos. The Ridge, Trayvax, Decadent Minimalist, and Dangos all look pretty damn cool. I love leather, but believe it or not, I've been carrying a Louis Vuitton zippy coin wallet (needed secure euro/yen coin capability with all the travel I do). It's not leather, it's a checker board gray canvas, after 8 years...it still looks brand new! Also, women love seeing a man carry something Louis Vuitton.
After the review, I purchased a Scudo wallet and I have to say it is probably the last minimalist wallet I will ever buy. It is indestructible, light weight, and very functional. So much easier to use than Trayvax or Ridge or Dango, all of which I have owned and all of which ended up being a pain in the butt to use on a daily basis. The wallet springs open to give you access to all your cards, and when it closes, it's with an audible secure click that locks it. The money clip on back works fine. I attached a lanyard and it's perfect. I would never have discovered this wallet without your review, so thank you!
I kinda like it, it's a different take on the flipside shell style kind of wallet and making it more compact than with a lot more "practical" gimmicks in the small form factor by way of switchable plates/parts - hence why they call it "Switch" for obvious reasons. I do have to agree that if it had a seal, it would be a better "minimalistic" choice over the flipside (which I don't like as it can be bulky as hell with all accessories attached). Still using the STOW, btw thanks to you. If I didn't have the STOW, I would grab this in a heartbeat - and maybe I would as a great backup to the STOW.
Yes, this is much better than the Flipside, more durable, sleeker with visual options and the sturdy cash clip. But, it won't match the minimalist footprint of the STOW, it's still excellent.
@@walletopia I agree! I also feel iffy about cash clips - any version of them - as in ALL of them. Call me paranoid/traditional; but I'd rather not flash my cash around openly regardless of how much I was carrying no matter style of wallet I use - most especially with certain kinds of wallets that make you store the cash outside of it. Storing cash *outside* of the wallet defeats the purpose of having a wallet in the first place despite the fact most people rarely carry that much cash on-hand nowadays and just go with a card.
@@obsidiansands Yes, I've come to see a strong line with those who don't care about having cash external and a large contingent who don't like it all for the reasons you bring up.
@@walletopia I used to live in a rough neighborhood when I was a kid - anybody waving any amount of greenbacks around outside of their wallet was asking to be mugged.
It has worse internal organization than the Flipside, which is the whole point. This one is no different than having a box such as an Altoids tin, so it doesn't have much value to me (and less than the Flipside which does have internal organization).
Love mine. Been running one for a while and it just holds up to everything. I’ve dropped it, treated it like garbage, and now have a decent amount of Switch cards as this is the last wallet I will ever use so literally switching it up is key. They even have a base that lets you put another card in it. Great product and an even better company. These folks are prime examples of customer service first.
Have to update the final score to something else, maybe out of 100. Every wallet reviewed is rated 36 - 38, so they are all essentially rated the same. Maybe a score up to 100 would differentiate a little more.
Ah yes, pushing perfection is very hard for wallets to get there. The highest so far is 44, I do expect we'll get something higher someday, but they keep balancing out the various criteria. If I adjusted the score to 100 they would all stick around 80-95 😀
I have this wallet as well with the carbon fiber plate and pocket clip for cash. Mine is in the ten card capacity it’s just perfect for me. Keep up the great work with the video content.
Almost a perfect wallet to me; cards fully enclosed for better security plus for cash and coins. Only if the customised plate can be replaced with a transparent gorilla glass so it can be used for your ID. And the price is killing me and at the moment the wouldn't able to ship it outside USA.
I would do the SCUDO. No RFID, you don’t need it, so don’t worry and if you still want it, get an RFID card instead of looking for the wallet to provide it. If you’re wondering about RFID, watch this ua-cam.com/video/QL2HEgOFQxc/v-deo.html
I'm Italian and I love watching walletopia videos but I noticed that probably, living in the United States, he's clearly aimed at that audience rather than a generic audience of people who speak English (yes, even Italians now speak it). Honestly, as Italian, I would love to have that wallet just to change the sentence on it: put an Italian flag and article 17 of our constitution: "Citizens have the right to assemble peacefully and without weapons" which is basically the same thing as what is wrote now
Hi ! Thanks for the sharing! When will you proceed with the drawing for the next gift wallet ?? :) It's been a while since I've been hearing about it but no news... Thanks!
@@walletopia same here. Ordered awhile back. change in the orientation of the closure I think will make the cards feel more stable.... I hope anyway 🤔. Cards resting on a longer edge makes sense Looking forward to your take on it 👍
From a durability perspective, maybe. Depends on whether you prefer aluminum or plastic. Both materials used as a wallet, would do fine and so it really comes down to preference.
Folding cash twice is a huge fail. Standing in line you have to unfold the entire stash to remove a bill. Cards are all lumped together for another fail. Flipside 4 is the holy grail of front pocket wallets. FS4 has all the organizational requirements you need with compartments for easy memory of exact card positions. FS4 actually obsoletes the others, and does it with the lowest price too.
I have the scudo switch bass and switch lid. I went with a clear plat on the bottom for ID window and carbon fiber on the lid 4oz empty. I've always been about wallet security this take it to new level with cash and cards in a sturdy aluminum box. Would love to see Carrie test and maybe 2nd look video. Great channel keep it up.
in what world are these things called a wallet? i dont get this craze. clunky hard no pictures expensive? do people plan to run these over with the car? if this is your deal reuse an Altoids tin. you did a nice video however i just dont get it and i am only 40 lol
Rattles when not filled to capacity, thick and bulky, has parts that will no doubt break over time, and what is with the metal "Amendment II" placard on the front?? If someone out there thinks it's necessary, or appealing to plaster the 2nd amendment on the front of their wallet, then I guess this is the wallet for you... It looks like a horrible wallet in my opinion. Keep the reviews coming, good or bad products, it's interesting to see what's out there...
I really have a hard time seeing how this will break through normal use over time. It's pretty rugged. But, like I said, it could be used as a weapon in your last stand defense. 😀
It really isn't, just got mine and at least the gen 6 version that came out recently is slim and much smaller then my ripped and degraded trifold I bought from Walmart.
QOTD: ⚡Are you a metal wallet kind of person! Business up front and party in the back!!?? What do you think of this wallet!

Good review Mark. I like that there are no sharp edges, has a variety of capacities available and that it is customizable.

Great testimonial! I feel the same way without having carried it yet!
I just checked out their website and they are building some new versions, smaller and lighter, with an ID window. It looks good.
Yes, their offerings are evolving. I just picked up the version 5 of this wallet

Hi !
Thanks for the sharing!
When will you proceed with the drawing for the next gift wallet ?? :)
It's been a while since I've been hearing about it but no news...
Thanks!
Looked on their website and can only choose 2 sizes, 12 or 18 card capacity.
Can you review this wallet against an altoid tin? I wonder if it's a close race...
All I would do is show a test of my car running over each of them...2 minute video tops 😂
Altoid tin, hands down.
I just can't imagine carrying a hard, sharp edges, bulky wallet in my front pocket... maybe if I were a cargo pocket kind of guy.
Yes, there aren't any sharp corners, but the bulk and weight is what gets you with this wallet.
Liked your review. Seems as thick as a normal wallet?
Really enjoy your reviews. Would love to see what you think of the scudo 5.0
I ordered it a few weeks back, I’m interested to see it too!

It doesn't look back pocket carry friendly with the hard case and thickness.
Agreed. I would never carry this in my back pocket, my hips would be out of balance in no time 😀
Please review Scudo's latest version. The magneto wallet. Thanks Mark, love your reviews!
It’s coming plus the newest Switch model
Thanks for the review. Getting one now.
Would love to see a review on the new 5.0 horizonal model
I’ve got it, I’ll add your vote to it!
How does it compare to Grip6?
What happens when TSA looks at it in airports?
There’s a higher than average chance they may want to inspect it, but after that, nothing.
Consider a review of the Col Littleton # 102 wallet in America Buffalo, Thanks
Thanks Steve! We'll add your vote and move it up the queue!
Holy crap that’s a lot of videos!!
I’m surprised that you did not do a review on the Gen 5
How thick is it?
Is it better than a Flipside?

Hi Steven, YES, but alas, I can't find it in stock anywhere right now...at least the color I want.
