Excellent! Your video saved me from spending hundreds of dollars ~ was able remove the seat & charge the dead battery (as the motor bike was left unused for months!! Much appreciate it
I'm goin to the hardware store tomorrow!! Only had my 21 for a few weeks and the seat movement has been bugging the shit outta me!!! Thanks a million for this!!
Its just a tolerance allowed for production so they can fit with small variations in the frame. I have an MT10 and I couldnt care less if its loose....never moves when i sit on it infact my triumph daytona did the same thing.
Hello..can you tell me what the black box is just behind the seat lock please. The one with a black rubber band around it. . it was ticking so I pulled it apart to find cogs in it , I put the cogs back together and now it's stopped ticking ...Great:-) Only my cruise control has now stopped working and my engine management light is now on with a flashing cruise control light.. Any help I'd appreciate Thanks..
I did a vid some time back about the rocking seat problem. Eventually Yamaha replaced the seat (as it also let water into the foam of the seat when parked in the rain) The new seat was a tight fit, now after a couple of thousand miles its as sloppy as the original! Will try your solution thanks.
Mine is too tight. I have to wrestle the seat catch into the latch as if fighting for my life. Then I added an AirFlow seat cover, which is fantastic, but now it's even harder! Otherwise the MT-10 is superb in design in my opinion.
Hi mate, good fix but the problem is that on the underneath of the seat, where you placed that pad on the seat base is a lug that gets bent upwards I.E towards the seat base if you can bend that back out the seat fits as it did from new however the lug will try to bend back under the seat if you try to force it.Mr Yamaha please recall bike and fit metal lug to seat and replace seat with one that after 60 miles my bum does not feel like a well smacked a==enjoy the bike they are immense.
My 2018 looks like it is missing two rubber subframe pads towards the front underside of the seat. Is this my imagination? Side note... My right side plastic fin above the tail light magically disappeared too. This bike is brand new and only about 30 days off the showroom floor. This phenomenon and loose seat is driving me insane. Still love the bike though.
hi, I lost my left tail fin after 4 weeks tie wrap em on shouldn't have to but I was told that mine must have blown of with wind velocity,no s$$$t sherlock.
Well, to be fair all bikes have something where the manufacturer dropped the ball. I still have this bike, and after nearly 4 years and 33,000 miles it's still in very nice condition, so it's not all bad from a build quality point of view.
What will you invent next? A flying car? I couldn't hear you, but luckily I'm a good lip reader. Thank you for the tip! Are you amazed your video is still getting watched? :-)

Great tip mate, well done. Yamaha need a kick in the balls for such poor quality control issue's.
Thanks really appreciate you taking the time to sharing this with us
Superb little fix, just done it with a little pad on mine and 90+% of the cock-in-a-bucket wobbling is gone. Good work, sir.
Great tip. I shall try that on my MT10 as it is little loose but not as bad as yours appeared to be. Thanks for sharing.

I watched this video gave me the idea to shim with velcro locks the seat in place pretty good
Мужик, спасибо тебе за видео. Не знал как решить эту проблему. Теперь попробую твой совет!!!
I just sat on mine since since 17?
Great idea. Have you thought about using rubber lined P-clips on the subframe to mate? I'm pretty sure that will stop most of the movement.

Thank you it worked very well
Brilliant I just picked up a brand new MT10sp and the seat does that. The build quality on the rest of the bike is superb but thats lets it down.
Great info cheers.
What is wrong with Yamaha, even the MT07 passenger seat is loose af!

Genial modificación, para ese gran defecto del asiento mt10. 👌👏🏼
Well done that man. Oh and camera woman too ☺️👍

OK 👌 cool merci pour la vidéo je vais essayer ça au plus vite
Very useful, will share on MT10 forums.
Mine is like that too
Thank you so much!
Sweet - I'll try this - thanks

I shake my head at how a company can build one of the best engines and throw some of the worst parts at it. Some it seems from quite a distance

So simple.. will do this on mine.. hate the play in it!
Love it thanks

Amazed? Nah... I always knew my videos were destined for greatness!
I think I will stick with Kawasaki
Your seat is so shiny compared to my sp
