If you love Yosemite's incredible waterfalls, here are a number of videos from the flooding of 2023; lovehikingclub.com/the-most-incredible-yosemite-waterfalls-in-50-years/ Come and say hello at lovehikingclub.com
I may or may not have crossed a barrier or two for some of those shots. I figured Yosemite only floods like that every 30 years or so and couldn’t help but want to get close.
OH MY!!! These are soooo excellent! I truly appreciate the fact you didn't do a commentary. Let us be with the beauty and the natural sounds. I lived and worked in Yosemite for 10 years. Seeing these, I wonder why I left? How thrilling to see all the places I spent my days off. All that water! I moved to Baja California with not a pine tree or waterfall in sight. Thank you❣
There was a fair bit of snow on the winter trail to Nevada Fall. The northern facing slopes and higher elevations had more, obviously. It was melting fast. Yosemite hit 70 while we were there and I can’t imagine that it will last by the time you are there.
In case you happen to read this message before your trip, Glacier Point (and Panorama TH) are closed until late Summer 2023. The GP road is not open & then once plowed, will be re-paved, etc.
I backpacked for two days in Yosemite last week. The mist trail was more of a downpour trail, and it was an incredible experience. Can't wait to go back and see more of the park.
I tried to capture video without people in the background talking so you could really hear how powerful the waterfalls at Yosemite are. Thanks for watching.
Thanks Rich for the great shots. I've hiked Yosemite only twice, once on the Sierra loop trail to the top of half dome and stood on the domes diving board then back down the misty trail in 2001. and of course all the waterfalls. I'm 67 now with a heart condition and depend on troopers like you to bring us these great vids. Thanks again. I'm a native Californian and regret only going twice.
We tried to make it to Half Dome but the snow in the higher elevation was just too deep. We are already planning to make another trip just to summit Half Dome. Yosemite has so much to offer and I'm glad you could reminisce about your time there with this video. Cheers!
We had planned our trip last summer. We had no idea the waterfalls and snow in Yosemite would be at record levels when we planned this trip. We just got lucky!
We hiked to the top of Yosemite Falls and a couple miles past Nevada Fall. There is a lot of snow still! Those waterfalls should be spectacular for months.
I was there in June of 2017 and it was almost this good. That was the only time I have been there. Folks...if it looks this good on video its 10 times that in person! One of the most beautiful places on earth IMO! Go if you can !!
Great video thanks for sharing. I was there about this time in 2018 and had some good flow, but not like this. I bet mist trail was nuts going up to Vernal
I was there last week with my fiancé. We saw waterfalls i never even knew existed. It was 85 and when we approached one fall we cooled down so much it was crazy. Pure cold mountain water
Anyone could record that in a few days if they work hard enough to hike to all the spots. If you are older, like me, and need some recovery days, it will take a few more.
Ozzy, for most people, The hike to Vernal & Nevada Falls is one day. The hike up Yosemite Falls is day 2. And the rest of these shots are a 3rd day. Traffic, weather, & hiking acumen are standard variables.
I wish I could have visited all the waterfalls in Yosemite! We could see Illilouitte Falls from our hike up to Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls. Sentinel Falls, Silver Strand Falls, and Royal Arch Cascade were pretty, but not near the volume and power of the ones I filmed. We tried to make it up to Half Dome and would have seen Snow Creek Falls, but the snow was so deep during our visit that it blocked our way. Thanks for watching!

Yes they are! Yosemite was peak wonderful this spring.
@@RichHersey Thank you for your video! 😊
Those are some crazy shots near the edge at Vernal, Nevada and especially Yosemite falls. Beautiful but scary.
I may or may not have crossed a barrier or two for some of those shots. I figured Yosemite only floods like that every 30 years or so and couldn’t help but want to get close.
There is no other Yosemite National Park extremely majestic 👀♥️💯👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
It was our first trip to Yosemite. Already can’t wait to return.

I’ve seen and done both ways. If you like the narrator it can be great. I wanted to just everyone appreciate Yosemite for what it is all on its own.
Outstanding Rich and thanks for no background music. You captured the moment perfectly.
There aren’t many videos without commentary. Why do you like those videos more?
Awesome! Thanks 🙂
You’re welcome.
Excellent videography the edge shots of the falls were heart wrenching.
It was challenging to get close to some of those. Glad to see you enjoyed it.
Great Video! Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome. I’m glad to be able to share some of our Yosemite trip with everyone. Another video coming soon so I hope you subscribe. Cheers!
Amazing! I need to make a trip, this much water might be a once in a lifetime
It’s something like a 30 year record for Yosemite.
So beautiful!! Very nice video; you did a great job capturing the power and the beauty! Thank you for sharing.
Yosemite felt like just point my camera anywhere and I could do that.
Very impressive photography. Thanks for showing this.
Glad you enjoyed watching Yosemite as much as I enjoyed filming Yosemite.
Just awesome. Thank you for posting these.
You’re welcome.
Awesome video!!
Thank for watching. I appreciate it!
@@RichHersey I thru-hiked the JMT/PCT ‘06, this brings back very fond memories. Thanks again!
AMAZING!!!! I'm going to Yosemite 3 days from now!!! These waterfalls are EPIC!!! Can't wait to hike along the Panorama Trail to Nevada Falls!
We were trying to make it to Half Dome but the snow was too deep and steep. The view from the top of Nevada Fall is incredible. Enjoy your trip!
Youre going to love it.
@@RichHersey how’s the hiking to nevada falls? Is there still a snow on the trail along the way? Im planning to hike next week.

I would love to backpack and camp there. We planned hikes to Half Dome but the snow was too deep. Our stay at Wawona was very memorable.
Thanks Rich for putting the video together! Will be there in June!
You’re welcome. Hope you enjoy your time in Yosemite.
Thanks so much for sharing! me and my husband booked Sep. this year to go there, can't wait to see it~~~~~🤩
Let me know how the waterfalls in Yosemite are when you go. Thanks!
THAT was really neat. But now I have to tinkle!
Waterfalls in Yosemite can have that effect.
Great shots Rich.
Thanks for the update!
You’re welcome. I hope you enjoy Yosemite as much as I do.
Beautiful views, thanks for sharing
You’re welcome. Even from a car, the views at Yosemite are amazing. If you hike then they are even better.
Thx for sharing I'll be there in 2 weeks
If you remember, come back and tell me how the snow and water levels are. I’m curious if the waterfalls are even better.
Wow wonderful, the power of the water is incredible ☺👍🙏
I tried to capture video without people in the background talking so you could really hear how powerful the waterfalls at Yosemite are. Thanks for watching.
@@RichHersey Well done 👍

That's crazy! We at Yosemite Valley July 2022, and Yosemite Falls was just a trickle.
We had planned this trip last year. No idea that Yosemite would have record snowfall. The waterfalls and flooding were amazing. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful footage. I was just there mid April. Couple overcast days but still beautiful when we were there
We had planned our trip last summer. We had no idea the waterfalls and snow in Yosemite would be at record levels when we planned this trip. We just got lucky!
Still soo much snow in the background. This will be a wild year up there.
We hiked to the top of Yosemite Falls and a couple miles past Nevada Fall. There is a lot of snow still! Those waterfalls should be spectacular for months.
When Yosemite Falls is its own weather system
Some of those waterfalls in Yosemite seem to create their own weather. It's amazing.
I was there in June of 2017 and it was almost this good. That was the only time I have been there. Folks...if it looks this good on video its 10 times that in person! One of the most beautiful places on earth IMO! Go if you can !!
You are correct. Yosemite in person is way better.
Great video thanks for sharing. I was there about this time in 2018 and had some good flow, but not like this. I bet mist trail was nuts going up to Vernal
Mist trail was closed. We took the winter trail up to Vernal falls. The John Muir trail was an extra mile of hiking but well worth it.
Been going there all my life (I live near) Never seen anything like this! Congrats!!! PS: how'd you do it?
I held my phone towards the waterfalls and recorded them. 😉
I was there last week with my fiancé. We saw waterfalls i never even knew existed. It was 85 and when we approached one fall we cooled down so much it was crazy. Pure cold mountain water
Was that Bridalveil Falls? We walked under that one and got soaked! Thanks for watching!
@@RichHersey yes it was!
Did you record all of this your self and if so how many days did it take you? Thank you
Anyone could record that in a few days if they work hard enough to hike to all the spots. If you are older, like me, and need some recovery days, it will take a few more.

Me too.
You left out Illilouitte Falls, Sentinel Falls, Silver Strand Falls, Royal Arch Cascade, Snow Creek Falls, and several others.

Chunks of Undermined Rock will be breaking off and falling to the Valley Floor
I suppose that happens to some degree every year. With the record snow levels and water at Yosemite this year you might expect more.
The talking in the background ruins it for me....
Sorry the 4 words in this video were so difficult to deal with. I hope you feel better soon.
Thank you for the great video!!
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching! I have a few more from Yosemite coming soon.
