I think something thats interesting is that even though the shorter rock edit was released, even when listeners want to hear that part only, they would absolutely prefer to embark on the journey and the buildup to it rather than jumping straight into it.
i really liked the second half and when i found that there was just that part of the song i was very happy so i removed the full version from my 5 song playlist and put in the short version but because there was no buildup like how it was in the full version i put the 5 minute version back in. i love the short version too for when i just want to jump into it but the buildup is worth it for me
See, now I’m not that big of a fan of most of her music catalogue, but I still checked out the album, and when the second part of Happier than ever started I was in love with the sound of it, and while I do agree that just listening to the edit skips the journey of the song, since I don’t like the first half I don’t have any qualms about just listening to the rock version.
Nice interview, love hearing finneas. Am so blown away by the complexity and sophistication of this song. My favorite moment in it is the first time she says ' I can't relate to you", and there is the guitar twang that makes you feel exactly what she's feeling. They are genius together
Finneas is beyond AMAZING. I saw him in concert a few weeks ago and was blown away. He did 20 songs without a break! Played a bunch of different guitars and the piano. Totally mesmerizing and fortunate to see him in a small venue up close. Genuine true talent--both Finneas and Billie who I'm seeing in March. btw, I'm 51 years old :)
The emotions that Happier Than Ever invokes within me is deeply healing. It brings up feelings that I didn’t know were still there. It helps me move through the emotion and release it fully. Would LOVE more songs with that head banging rock vibe from Billie if she feels called to do that more.
Ah, a Queen fan, I like it! HTE is brilliant! It triggered me, esp with the screams in the background "made all my moments your own" yep!- Which is among a few of the Narcissistic traits referred to in the song, which I think is important that people can identify. I cried the first time I heard this song, and watched the video, it was soo raw, and deep. Now I find it very cathartic, and love it for it's beauty. You guys are amazing!❤ I also see Male Fantasy as kind of a follow up to that song, where the person is walking away, feeling a bit more free.
@@SandraIris A lot of singers would be nothing without great producers. Singing doesn’t mean you can make a song, people don’t seem to understand that.
@RedRebel2017 Billie was more involved with this album than her debut. She co-wrote the entire album with Finneas, was the vocal engineer, and directed all of the music videos.
@RedRebel2017 you know finneas has his own music right? Finneas has a huge part in the Billie Eilish brand, but so does Billie, that’s why they are so successful together. I think Finneas deserves more recognition, but trying to bring Billie down won’t do that.
@@gregzilla3139 same could be said for the 2nd part... completely unnecessary to make a short version with the 2nd half. It's only fair to make a short version of the 1st half (aka the far better version)
At first I was convinced that I only like the rock part of it but when the rock edit was released and I started listening to it, I realised that no, I actually do like the whole song
I do really like the build up of the song, but if that first half was its own song, I wouldn't really listen to it. I wish they'd make an album full of songs more in the vein of the second half. So good!
@@curtisjeffries9630 i honestly related to the album because I've been through similar experiences, i felt understood in a way, like my pain was okay to feel and maybe i can truly be happy someday. This album is not for everyone
they really made a perfect song
Ikr
@Maria not the most perfect. But definitely perfect
we need a happier than ever 10 minute version
(Billie's version) (from the vault)

I added the shorter one also to my playlist. Every time I hear it, it’s just not the same and the song doesn’t feel as powerful as the original

They should release the radio version officially. It plays like 15 seconds of the first part and then transitions to the second part.
I Jump straight into it 💀
i love how when the first verse acoustically was leaked on billies doc and nobody expected anything lmao

Yessssss the twang!!
They should put the acoustic version of happier than ever out!!
Yes please!!!!!
there is a leaked version of it if you look it up
YES

The acoustic version of happier than ever of Billie and finneas writing the song is on the documentary the worlds a little blurry. It’s a short clip
I remember seeing that 😯
I’m glad I only listened to the full version. It made me appreciate the first half, which lyrically is the best part.
Billie and Finneas rock 🥺✨
I knew it'd be massive when i heard them playing out the first few verses in that newyork hotel room overlooking the river
I would still listen to the full song!

She would literally be nothing without his production, support and talent . They are both such a power unit!
That it's not true. She's also really talented :(

song of the year
Yeah I like the first half just click back to the start when she goes to open the door x

just listen to the first part of the song then??

Love the Pyramids by Frank shout out ❤️
Happier than ever is so powerful
so interesting! love him
I prefer the whole than the edit, without the first part, even if it's too powerful, it is lacking and empty without the first part
Tbh I feel like the song don’t sound the same without the beginning
Finneas is soo smart and talented ugh
He literally launched a whole album and they still asking bout happier than ever
Ikr
Finneas is the best 💕
Master piece
Finneas is the man
What about the immense distortion on the instruments and drums in the second half? What's the story?
where can we find the complete interview?

I really want to know what it would look like or sound like if it was released in 2020
Frank Ocean Pyramids SO SICK

the edited version is played more times than those album tracks?
goddammit.
❤️
why is there a Taco Bell Hot Sauce blanket in the background?
I dunno but I want it
I’m just shocked that he’s only 24
“our first show, i think it’s life is beautiful” yep.
I saw the thumbnail and was like, why is pewdiepie talking about billie eilish
YOU DON'T SKIM THROUGH PYRAMIDS.

I hate that he said "kids are so into that right now" 😒 Not all of Billie's fans are teen girls
I'm sure he's aware of that, I think he's saying "kids" just to be funny lol
He say like a lot haha
All millennials in California do

How many "like's" where that?😂
You dare to say something like Bohemian Rhapsody? You mad dude?
If they put out only the second half of the song, they should name it “When I’m away from you, I’m happier than ever”.
Chooses a song from the whack album????
